I love the bigger screen size personally. Aside from the beast performance factor, I just love having a bigger and more solid phone to get stuff done.

Literally no lags or issues with the 6S+ so far and I think most small things will be fixed with the iOS update.

I went from a 5S 64GB to a 6S+ 128GB and couldn't be happier. I LOVE the larger size. The only thing I've had a hard time adapting to is the power switch on the side instead of the top, and I constantly hit one of the volume buttons because of how I hold the phone when I go to turn it off. Need to work on that. Otherwise I love the larger size. Everything looks better, and it still fits in my pockets. I wouldn't go back to the smaller size frankly.

What was your experience like? I have a 6 64gb atm but have always wanted something a bit bigger. Plus seems like it's just too big, but the increase in battery life is definitely a massive plus (pun intended).

Also, if I were to get a plus, I would only be able to afford 16gb instead of 64gb.

I upgraded from the 64GB 6 to the 64GB 6S+ and LOVE it. The screen and battery life are awesome! My advice would be to do whatever you can to come up with the extra $100 and get the 64GB 6S+. I don't think 16GB is adequate for this phone and 4x the storage for $100 is a much better deal.

I've been experiencing the exact same thing as you! The only thing different is I have not had a chance to take the 6s Plus out and around town with me a lot just to make sure the size won't bother me when taking it in and out of my pocket, sitting down with it in my pocket, etc...but so far it hasn't bothered me at all. I'm loving it!

The bigger screen is nice. Some say it's more noticeably crisp. It isn't to me, and I say this only to mention your mileage may vary on what differences you notice.

Since you have a 64gb, do you notice yourself using more than about 12gb? If so, how much more? Could you live without that extra space?

Lastly, you're talking about 6 plus not 6s plus, right? My 6 plus performance noticeably worse than my wife's 6. I see no difference between the 6s and 6s plus.

I pre-ordered a 6S PLUS, thinking that the larger battery and OIS camera would be worth it.

But then I realized how much I love the one-handed operation size of my 5S (and the 6S 4.7" is fine too) and pocketability.

Now that my 6S PLUS is about to arrive, I'm having cold feet about going that size. And am considering not even opening it and getting a refund to be able to buy the regular 6S 4.7" size.

It's a rough decision, because I know that the 6 (4.7") has slightly worse battery life than the 5S, and I really don't want to lose battery time either, as the S models sliver off a bit more battery life because of the slightly smaller battery.

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

I really wish that Apple had just released a 5.0" iPhone.

Yepp, I'm someone who moved from the 6 to the 6s plus and although the bigger screen is amazing and the battery life is good, I'm moving back to the 6s regular variant.

Simple tasks like taking a picture in public is cumbersome when you need to use two hands and tasks like getting a webpage up quickly or popping your phone out for Apple Pay seems a little bit like a chore because the sheer size of the device and getting it out is quite bothersome for me.

Love using the device at home but I also tend to travel a lot and the device is not designed for those who are on the move because you'll realise that you'll either miss one handed operation or the phone is just uncomfortable to use in public.

Honestly, I'd love a 5" phone or maybe even a 5"2 but I guess we'll have to wait until the next generation of iPhones are released.

The screen on my 6S+ does seem more crisp, but it could just be that it's easier to see with the larger screen.

On my 5S 64GB, I had only about 10GB free, which is why I went with the 128GB on my 6S+. It all depends on how you use it and what you want stored.

I have used it to take numerous pictures (lunar eclipse, for one), and haven't had any problem with the size. I can open pages, apps, etc with one hand and I don't think I have particularly large hands. I get it in and out of my pockets with ease, and haven't felt like I might drop it or anything.

I do find that I usually take it out of my pocket when I sit down, though not always.

The Plus phones have a higher resolution screen so it should seem more crisp.

Can we all please agree already that there is very little reason for most people to choose a 16Gb iPhone, Plus or not. That's a dead horse, and it's been beaten to death and into the afterlife, both here and other threads!

Storage size is NOT not the point of this thread.

We are talking about the SIZE of the PLUS and why one did, would, or declined to choose it. Right?

You're welcome.

Yes you're correct. I'm not interested in the storage comments especially after I just found out that I only use 11GB. I only stated it in the OP as people may say it isn't worth the upgrade to the plus. In that case, fair enough, I will not be purchasing a 64GB plus.

I use 11GB on my 64GB device. I'm sure I could live without it, this thread was really just to see what people's thoughts were when they made the upgrade.

I'm either sticking with my 6 or moving up to the 6S plus. The spec bumps (even though they are great as I've used friends' 6S's) isn't worth getting a new device unless I'm getting a larger screen.

This, I agree 100%. My last phone was a 6+. A big part of my decision in getting a 6S this year is attributed to the smaller screen size, which I am really enjoying so far. I wouldn't have upgraded from a 6+ to a 6S+, as I was happy with my 6+ other than the "too large for my pockets" problem.

More pros than cons of upgrading then, IMO. I was initially most worried about running and going to the gym. But I really can't praise the flip belt enough. ;)

Hmm the size of it for my pockets may be a problem. I go to the gym 6 times a week, and some of my shorts/tracksuits have trouble with the 6...

16GB vs 64GB is no contest. Get the 64GB. That's way more important. As for the display size, I downsized and love the 6s. It's not as small as I thought it would be. Essentially perfect. However I'm still looking forward to Apple reducing the bezels in a future version—especially on top and bottom. That would essentially eliminate the need to ever use Reachability and make it more pocketable for all the women I know who refuse to get a bigger phone.

Okay please no more 16gb vs 64gb. I'm 99% sure I'm getting 16GB.

I made this thread to know about the experience of moving from the smaller phone to the bigger one.

How was the battery life on the 6S compared to the plus? Or was your plus phone a 6 and not 6S?

Not the commenter but coming from my 6 there is no comparison in battery life with the 6S Plus.

Going on 6.5 hours of actual use with 40% left. It's been a day since my last charge and it was only 98%.

wth. I seem to have crap battery life with each iPhone I own. 5 hours 40 usage with 24% left. Most of it was used for music.

I had a 6 Plus. The 6S battery has held up ok under a bunch of testing over the weekend but it's great this week. Pretty much like my iPhone 5 was before, around 20-30% left at bedtime. It's at 75% right now. I've been recording 4K video with the torch on in the evenings to run it down to 0% so that the new battery is calibrated.

The first few months with the 6 Plus the battery seemed to be around 60-65% at bedtime, so quite a bit better. I could usually make it through the next day. But for whatever reason it seems like the lifespan (as in, ability to hold a charge over time reducing the overall capacity) of the battery went down faster than other every iPhone I've had (all but the 5s). Maybe because it would rarely deplete down to 0% or close to empty, which is good to maintain proper battery health? Eventually it would be around 45-50% at bedtime and I couldn't quite make it through another day. So after six months or so I was charging it nearly every day. And if that's the case then I might as well get the regular size. The only true benefit I ever saw from the larger battery was when tethering to my iPad for long periods of time. For that I bought an Anker 10,400mah battery off Amazon for $20. It fits well in my small bag and can charge my 6s up to six times! I can run tethering for days on that battery pack. Or I could bring my 6s camping for about a week without needing power. I highly recommend that battery pack. It's fairly compact and well constructed—even has nice packaging, haha. It's good to have something like that in the midwest anyway as we can have some pretty devastating ice storms that knock out power for weeks.

I say return it and get the 6s. I was in your shoes this time last year, but kept the plus because I was stubborn about the battery. I miss the screen size, but couldn't find a case that made it easy to pocket. I carry a portable battery charger everywhere anyway.

I upgraded a different line on my account and bought the 4.7 inch iPhone 6s 128gb. I had a 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus 64gb which I sold on eBay to pay off the financing. One year carrying around that sucker was more than enough.

I have an iPad I use for note taking in class, too. There was no need for me to have a Plus.

I went from the 6 to a 6s Plus and here are my thoughts so far:

It is a big jump in size. I could use my 6 one handed with no problem. With the Plus I can use it one handed but it's tough, so much so that I avoid doing it if I can. The Plus fits fine in my pocket, it did fall out one time at the gym. I'm going to take my iPod shuffle to the gym from now on just so I don't have to worry about that happening again. In jeans or normal shorts it fits fine. The Screen is amazing! I like having the extra screen size and the display is really sharp. I travel most every week for work and the phone traveled well so no problems there.

Typing on the Plus is so much easier than typing on the 6.

Watching videos and playing games is also a much better experience on the Plus.

Over all I miss the ease of use with the 6. It is easier to carry and I could do everything with it that I do the 6 Plus. HOWEVER, the Plus is so much fun! The larger display is great for media, games, surfing the web, social media, all the things that I use my phone for most of the time. It's a tough choice for sure, it just comes down to do YOU think the inconvenience's of the plus are enough to keep from upgrading to it. I say upgrading because I do think it's a better experience on the Plus than the 6s. Good Luck.

Oh gosh wow that's ******.

Yeah I unfortunately would never give up this battery for anything. It's a powerhouse.

Most of what you said is true, except typing in landscape mode. I used it a handful of times and it was always difficult. It's useless because of the bezel.

The bezel could be linked to nearly all my complaints about the Plus. The screen was awesome, the battery was great, but the bezel killed my experience.

I never use the phone in landscape mode for anything other than games or videos so it doesn't really do anything for me either way. Good point though for someone that does like to use the landscape mode I can see that being really annoying.

Are you in an area where you get full signal? I'm always at about 1/2 bars which may be why. Funny thing is, I live and travel round the heart of London.

I don't use landscape mode for typing anymore. Ever since they brought in the shortcut buttons to the sides. Absolutely hate it/can't type because of it.

I think the majority of people are loving the plus over the regular so I think I will be making the switch soon. Any more experiences are definitely welcome.
