I can afford more, but I don't see the point for me. I use my phone for YouTube, WhatsApp and Music, that's it. But I am concerned that maybe because of the larger screen, I may want to start putting movies etc. up. I still think I will go for the 16gb. I'm really desperate for better battery life.
Remember with 16gig all you get roughly is 12gigs back. That's not enough for 4K video, and lots of photos. Or even possible apps on your phone.

Yeah I'm going by what I'm using on my 6 atm. 64GB but only using 11GB. I have a lot of junk photos from whatsapp as well that's eating at storage. After some thought, I think I should be fine with 16GB. Only have about 10 apps on my phone, all small. Don't use my phone to game.

One good thing about the 16gb is the better availability, as fewer people want it compared to the other two sizes.

I pre-ordered a 6S PLUS, thinking that the larger battery and OIS camera would be worth it.

But then I realized how much I love the one-handed operation size of my 5S (and the 6S 4.7" is fine too) and pocketability.

Now that my 6S PLUS is about to arrive, I'm having cold feet about going that size. And am considering not even opening it and getting a refund to be able to buy the regular 6S 4.7" size.

It's a rough decision, because I know that the 6 (4.7") has slightly worse battery life than the 5S, and I really don't want to lose battery time either, as the S models sliver off a bit more battery life because of the slightly smaller battery.

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

I really wish that Apple had just released a 5.0" iPhone.

Availability doesn't seem to be an issue for me. Helped a friend purchase a 64gb +. Reserved and picked up in an hour.

Anyone else in my exact situation?

What I wanted to hear, someone who isn't an absolute fan of the plus. But it seems like me and you don't exactly match. I hate the size of the 5S, way too small for me. The 6 is still great for one-handed operation, would actually like something just bigger. The + is simply too big for one handed operation, but I'm fine with that tbh as long as I get more battery life.

Once the phone arrive at your hands, it doesn't make a difference whether you break the seal or not. When you return the phone to Apple, they will always open it up and inspect everything before reselling it, or more likely using it as refurbished for warranty replacement.

I pre-ordered through AT&T. And right now, do not plan on breaking the plastic.

All of the posts here are pretty valid. If you can only afford the 16GB Plus, then just get the 64GB regular.

But going back to the question of people moving from 6 to 6S Plus, I made that move. Honestly if these phones weren't so slippery, it wouldn't be an issue at all! I have pretty small hands, and it took some re-training to figure out how to use my regular iPhone 6 one-handed. Now with how my hands are used to holding the phone, it really isn't that different going to the 6S Plus. That being said, get the Apple leather / silicone case. The other cases I've tried are typically too bulky (I know there are some ultra thin ones out there too). Forget the protection. I just need the case to make it grippy! The Apple leather case looks really nice on the phone, and it helps to make sure I don't drop it. In terms of in my pocket, I do notice that the 6S Plus is slightly larger than the 6, but so far it hasn't bothered me too much...

I've never been so torn about buying an Apple product. Ideally I'd buy the Plus, I want the larger screen and battery life, but I don't know how well it fit into my daily routine. I walk or take public transportation everywhere. So one handed use is really nice to have, but having a bigger screen be nice while sitting on the bus too. I don't think it'll fit into my pants pocket easily and I don't want to have to carry a bag everywhere.

I feel like I'm going to be disappointed either way now, if I get the 6S I'll wish I went with the bigger screen and if I get the Plus I'll be upset about it not being as easy to handle or pocket ... which I realize are the exact opposite problems. lol.

Except storage doesn't matter to me. I use 11GB and most of this is probably junk photos from whatsapp chats.

There really seem to be pros and cons about the switch. I for one don't use cases, I don't like the added bulk, even if it's 1mm. I like to feel the metal and the slimness.

Why not? I use 11GB on my 64GB 6.

Haha why not! I'm still flying with 16gb. If I had to shoot 4k videos all day I would get more. What I like about the 16gb is it forces me to organize my photos and files on the phone. I can't just hoard gigabytes of space for stuff I don't really need. It's nice to have organized photos and files sorted in external storage.

To be honest, I think that having less storage up front doesn't seem like such a big deal to you. Which is totally cool! The problem comes when you reach the point of wanting more storage and you just don't have it.

Of course, you can utilize iCloud and also pay for more storage there (cheaper than a completely new phone). But at the end of the day, by getting 16GB you're making it so you can never use more than 11GB unless you get an upgraded device.

Totally your choice, friend!

Yeah I've lived inthe centre of London all my life. I simply don't have anything I want to film or take pictures of! I'm not a hoarder either. If I've watched a TV show episode, it's off my phone straight away.

This is a valid point, and another problem for me. I may want to shove as many TV shows onto the phone due to the bigger screen and battery life. I actually force myself to watch less on my iPhone 6 as I rather not waste the battery life on watching a TV show!

Hey, if you want that 16gb, then by golly ole gosh get the 16gb....

But like others have said. Your better off with the 64gb. 11gb is to straining. Constantly checking your storage to see if you have enough for what ever you want to put on it.

Can we all please agree already that there is very little reason for most people to choose a 16Gb iPhone, Plus or not. That's a dead horse, and it's been beaten to death and into the afterlife, both here and other threads!

Storage size is NOT not the point of this thread.

We are talking about the SIZE of the PLUS and why one did, would, or declined to choose it. Right?

You're welcome.

I was also thinking about getting a Plus, as I have a regular 6S now.

I really just want that increase in battery, mainly for a little bit of web browsing and maybe gaming. Is it really that significant?

I think I could manage the size for the trade off if that battery is really that much more significant.

The storage size is being discussed because the OP indicated he would only get the Plus at 16GB.

So. No one was really off topic from what I could see?

What was your experience like? I have a 6 64gb atm but have always wanted something a bit bigger. Plus seems like it's just too big, but the increase in battery life is definitely a massive plus (pun intended).

Also, if I were to get a plus, I would only be able to afford 16gb instead of 64gb.

I did this. Although I went from 6 to 6s+ both in 64gig.

It is big. And takes a little getting used to. I am a big guy at 6'6" and have big hands. So I can use the + with one hand and it isn't a big deal. But I can already tell it is a pain in the back side to keep it in my front pocket in jeans which sucks.

I do like the extra real estate on the screen though. So far I would say it is worth it.

There's another perk to using a bigger phone: the software keyboard keys are bigger, so there's a lesser chance of typing wrong words if you have fat fingers.

Also, if you're an elderly person, your eyes will appreciate the bigger text displayed on the screen.

I've seen guys buy one of those holster cases to put their phone.
