Ditched my wallet 18 months ago before the UK lockdown. Only ever need a card if I pay money into the bank and even then I can do it manually with a paying in slip as i remember my account number.

I do with petrol pumps would have contactless payment so I didn’t have to go in to the kiosk to pay, but still do that with Apple Pay.
 
UK / London here. I haven’t used my actual debit card for nearly a year now. Apple Pay, contactless all the way. I mostly use my watch. Even a redneck coastal car park machine took Apple Pay!

We have fairly advanced payment infrastructure here compared to some European countries and America though.

it depends where you are.
