People hate Musk... but love Zuckerberg?
So my take on this is, even though Zuckerberg is definitely the only executive people attach to Facebook, when you go to the site it you wouldn't know it. He runs the show, but he isn't the show. When Musk took over Twitter, he was Twitter. He gamed the algorithm so that he showed up in your feed constantly (from what I read he even force unblocked himself from feeds.) He changed the logo for some time based on one of his inside jokes. He makes sure that he is Twitter.

You can hate Zuckerberg but still forget about him when you use Facebook/Threads/Instagram/WhatsApp. Musk won't let that happen with Twitter.

To post on instagram you need to upload some type of media.... an image or video, etc....

To post on threads you only need to write words like twitter....media is optional.

Unfortunately, 99% of the content from people you follow is just a cross-post from Instagram. The only people posting "thoughts" are celebs and use it like twitter. Everyone else just uses it like Instagram so it is redundant.

Twitter will for all intents and purposes be dead by the end of this year.

I got a kick out of Twitter being Elon’s financial Vietnam.
The Twitter you knew might be. But the Twitter it’s evolving into, will be just fine. Hate it or love it, it’s not going anywhere.

Let’s meet here next year and see who’s crystal ball needs batteries. 🫠

still garbage. no way to see only people you follow. trash

You realize that they can iterate, right?

I hope threads gets better and that people use it. I personally won't, but I revel in Elon Musk losing. Twitter is an alt-right dumpster fire that bigots, nazis and Russians call home. It deserves to die.

Your experience is not the same as everyone else.

I don't follow celebs, influencers etc. So 99% of the content from people I follow is NOT a cross-post from Instagram.

It's similar experience to Twitter only without the trolls, idiots, grifters, crypto-bros etc.

And still no tab to only see posts from people you follow. This is the fundamental opposition I have to social media. They only want you to see what they want you to see.

Unless I'm missing something I'm reading this as several new ways to interact with people who follow you, but still very little control over what you see regardless of who you do follow.

It's right in line with Zuck's lack of vision and inability to renew his business by other means than acquiring others' ideas.

You mean good artists copy, great artists steal?

Gotta admit it was a good time to swoop in with a product like this. I say this as someone opposed to everything he apparently stands for. But the timing was good.

The follows tab isn’t to see who you’re following in Threads. It shows who’s followed you recently. That’s why it’s part of the Activity feed.

Am I the only one who thinks Threads App is just boring?
It's totally boring - what it serves up to me is meh - but other people I know are having great experiences with content feeds. I think as they add features it might get better - Twitter was pretty ick when it launched and limited too.

This was a rush to market job to take advantage of Twitter's weakness - it really needed another 6 months or more in the oven. Like DM's are still six months or more away
