For media consumption I've been underwhelmed with by the 2017 X. It's not wide enough. The X Plus will be the first iPhone I've lusted for in years.

It's won't be cheap and must have the BEST camera in the world to justify its premium for me as there's some insanely good Android phones out there at half the price of the X.

I got my GF a free Apple Watch last year so we'll likely get a heavily discounted 2017 X or the 6.1 iPhone for her.

I just sold my iphone X last night, got a great offer at pretty close to retail. I had gotten a replacement device as i had an overheating problem, and just decided to sell the brand new one they gave me as its easier to sell brand new iphones. I did that because i really want the iphone X+ (Gold), the iphone X is too small for me. Plus the resale value will be at its highest now; once the phones are announced and people are looking to upgrade, the market will be flooded with used iphone X's and not to mention that there will be a newer version of the same phone being released as well.

So now i'll just have to use my old 6s for 6 weeks until the X+ will be in store, which isn't that long at all. To be honest, using the 6s again isn't as bad as i thought. It's a bit slower, screen isn't nearly as good, and the battery drains really fast, but all the other things i need are there.

Unless Apple comes out with something totally different in 2019, i'll be keeping the X+ for 2 years until Sept 2020.

We have 3 6s phones, one SE and my iPhone 7 for our five lines, and all are paid in full. I know my 7 works like a charm and I've had it since September 2016 and will probably replace the battery before I upgrade. Only if something happens to it where it won't work or needs repair will I consider upgrading to anything as I'm done upgrading every 2 years or less. I love the X and I would love to have the latest but it's just money I'm not willing spend upgrading every 2 to 3 years or so; I've come to the point where the phones are good enough I can make them last as long as possible.

The X plus or whatever they call it is going to be a beast in terms of form factor. I measured my iPhone X diagonally and then extended the measurement to 6.5 and it was massive. Add a chunky protective case to that and the phone may become unmanageable for people with smaller hands. I have fairly large hands so I will look at the 6.5 as I find the screen in the X a little too narrow but I think some people may be shocked at just how large the X Plus is going to be
