I paid good $$$ for this iPhone X and I plan on keeping it until the battery dies or the some other defect causes me to get a new phone. If the phone keeps working, why upgrade for marginal benefit? So no, I am not thinking of upgrading from my X. It works great!

I paid good money for mine as well, but I wouldn’t mind the same form factor but a larger screen. Like I said, I’m on the fence about upgrading.

I’ll grab larger version and give x to daughter. Easy choice. But nope I wouldn’t bother if she didn’t need one. The only disappointment will be if the x plus is just bigger and has no Apple Pencil built in or no landscape mode.

Clearly, it's GPU's for you ;) Most here would argue two Vega's is a waste, but that's whats important to you. Think about that when you tell others that their choices are bad.

Sure.

I'm not defending purchasing 2x GPUs.

However... since you brought it up...

Yes, buying them was crazy perhaps (for an outside observer). But...

My old RX480 (since donated to my girlfriend's gaming PC) paid for itself and then paid for the first Vega via mining. The mining profits went nuts, and then my first vega plus the remainder of the RX480 profits paid for the second Vega.

The pair of Vegas since made me a bit of money.

So really, in my particular case, i basically got the pair of Vegas (and also my old RX480) for FREE once the mining profits are taken into account.

Wanting to buy the new phone because its your thing doesn't mean it is an objectively good idea.

At least my cards paid for themselves (And then some). Your shiny new iphone replacing last year's model will not.

Additionally, when i bought both Vegas, i got it them at very close to RRP, while they were on ebay for 50% more. I could still sell it for almost what i paid for it.

I'm not trying to tell people what to do with their money. I will however point out that going straight from one model to the next is a crazy waste of money. If you want to do it, go for it. Doesn't mean it makes sense though.

Just got an iPhone 8 256gb on sale for $699, coming from a 6s. To get the X 256gb would have been $450 dollars more at $1149. Not worth that much of a price increase. Very happy with the 8.

Thank you. The screen looks so much better than the 6s, not sure if it's True Tone or something else.

IMHO, I think it is a much more improved LCD screen and with display technology advancing at such a rapid pace these days, I wouldn't be surprised that it looks better even though it is using the same LCD tech instead of OLED like with the iPhone X.

If the rumored iPhone X+ is announced I will upgrade to that if not, I’m considering keeping my x and waiting it out for a plus version.

My wife just upgraded to an iPhone 8 with unlimited mins, texts and 3GB of data for £23 p/m. The whole deal works out at £823 over the course of the contract and next month I’m hoping it’s still available, cracking deal.
That’s an incredible deal...

My wife and I currently use iPhone 6s' and will upgrade to the iPhone XI/Xs. I'll likely get the larger Plus variant this time around.

Right now, leaning toward keeping my X. Of course, that could change once I see the 2018 offerings.

Keep the X. It's a good phone and the improvements with the 2018 devices will be minimal: more RAM, slightly improved cameras, newer processor.

The X is already ahead of some OEMs in several ways: FaceID has a head-start over other mainstream facial recognition offerings, the A11 processor is ahead of what Qualcomm offers, and the display is pretty elegant w/ the True-Tone option and minimal bezels.

Not worth the $ especially since the X is going to be a major contender for years to come.

But if one wants a bigger screen then they should upgrade.

But if one wants a bigger screen then they should upgrade.

Don’t need a X+ for a bigger screen, so the LCD model could be more cost effective. However, that might be a lateral move considering the rumored specs.

I'm currently rocking a 6s. If the upgrades aren't worthwhile I'll just buy an 8+ or an X at a discounted price. Once the X2 is released prices will plummet significantly. I don't mind having a one year old phone. The specs along with iOS 12 seems like a no brainer.

But the LCD Model is their Budget Phone for 2018.

It is, but the move is lateral since the specs will be 3gb RAM and what not. If the X is selling for $600 used? Then the person moving to a bigger screen will pay something out of pocket to move up.

True, but some people will want a OLED screen. Also when I looked there were not a lot of phones for sale too, so it shows people are either holding on to their phones or they are waiting to sell them.

Two months to go! Hopefully.

I can still go either way between keeping and upgrading, but I’m leaning towards upgrading from the 8+ to the 6.5” Plus.

The 6.5” is the only one of interest to me unless the 6.1” surprises in some way. Right now based on existing rumors, I don’t believe that it will.

If they want an OLED display at a 6.5" form factor, they will have to pay a larger premium. That's Apple's possible product offering and not much a person can do since alternatives could have some compromise.

They are waiting. Wait at least about a week before the keynote or around that time frame, and the market starts becoming saturated with those who are wanting to sell their iPhone X to have the latest 2018 model once the official iPhone X is announced, then eBay and Swappa will be flooded.

I’ll probably get whichever phone is available with dual SIM. Ideally I’d like a 5-5.5” bezelless LCD screen, but it’s not going to happen.
