They are waiting. Wait at least about a week before the keynote or around that time frame, and the market starts becoming saturated with those who are wanting to sell their iPhone X to have the latest 2018 model once the official iPhone X is announced, then eBay and Swappa will be flooded.

True, but usually you see people flooding the used market either the day after the announcements or the launch day.

No, just personal. I only give out the number that I have on the AT&T line. The other lines are used mostly just for data and I occasionally grab one of the other random phones to make a call on but the lines are forwarded to my local weather line because of all the solicitor calls they get. I've always enjoyed having more then one phone most years ever since the original iPhone came out where I owned three of those.
Please tell us more about forwarding to your local weather line. That sounds like a cool trick.

I did this off and on over the years and one time I even forgot that one of my lines was being forwarded and couldn't figure out why a call I was waiting for wasn't coming through. I even called AT&T back then and they couldn't see that it was being forwarded and halfway through the call, I remembered I had it set to do this and hung up.

Anyways, we have a weather line here in Denver sponsored by our only newspaper in town. It just gives the forecast, time and temp. I just simply set the call forwarding number in the phone settings to forward to this number.

I used to have it set to forward to my local sheriffs department non emergency number so they spammers could then explain why they were calling the Sheriff.

I also forward two of the lines to each other sometimes. What this does is phone 1 forwards to line 2s number and line 2 forwards to line 1s number. What happens is the call then fails since it won't allow an endless loop of forwards and it will have a message saying the call can't go through.

Thanks for the tips. I like the cross forward with two phones trick.

Think I've finally reached as long as the phone works I'm good age. Just switched from my X to a red 8+ and will use that until it stops working. Thankfully, my company covers the cost of my devices and service, but I can't justify the need to upgrade every year like I used to.

Well I jumped on the X 2 months out due to a deal I couldn’t pass up. Coming from the 6s it was big upgrade. There was no way I was going to get the deal I got with new 2018 models.

Just got my X recently so I definitely plan to keep it at least another year or more. I dont feel the need to upgrade every year like I used to.

If the new X is the same monthly cost as my current X on the iPhone upgrade program, I will upgrade in December. Otherwise, I will hold out for the 2019 phones.

I owe one more Apple Upgrade Program payment on my iPhone 7 Plus. Cannot wait for the new ones to come out, though might go on the every year train. I normally upgrade every two years but with Apple Upgrade program it was silly not to upgrade to the X this year while I had the chance.

Curious, how cheap did you get it?

6s on ios 9

No plans in getting any new phone this year. I want OLED in my next phone. But I also value small-size (one-handed use). I also hate the notch. So you can imagine what all that means.!

So I will wait until 2019 to see what Apple unveils.

I’m happy with my 7+ but I’m not saying no to a new phone, it’s going to depend on what kind of deals are available for the new ones.

I always used the plus sizes and I could use Swype to type with the phone in one hand. I could never do that do that with my thumb as before in in my X. If there is a new Plus, I will buy it in a heart beat. In any case I buy a new phone every year and pass on the old one to extended family.

I plan to keep the iPhone 7 for another year as I’m of the opinion that anything above a 7 is diminishing returns until at least September 2019

There are other two things that really put me off too. First bring the likelihood of 64gb/256gb storage options, so either a downgrade from 128gb or being forced to pay an extra £150 for far too much storage. Second being that the rumoured screen sizes are all scary scary big

I posted a similar poll three months ago - now we are getting pretty close to iPhone releases. I feel that buzz around features and upgrades with the 2019 iPhones is limited compared to last year. The iPhone X + seems to be in demand, but I'm not seeing a ton of organic demand for the other two models.

As an iPhone 8+ owner, I've seen more OLED iPhone X screens in the wild and now want to upgrade to the OLED screen. I'm hoping the 2019 X/X+ are $100 less expensive than the comparable prices last year. I'm undecided about X or X+; a lot of the decision will revolve around battery life. The LCD phone would have interested me if it had the dual camera setup.
[doublepost=1529416334][/doublepost]Obviously, replace "2019" with "2018" for all of the poll questions

X+ is my pick but I'm coming from a 5S:D so anything is good now. My neighbor has an 8 not the plus. I can hold it fine. When the 2018 Xs show up, I'll play with them and decide but I'm betting it's the X+

As an exemption to the list:

I own a Samsung and plan to head back to using an iPhone this year.

I have no desire for a phablet sized device, so the rumoured 5.8inch OLED upgrade for the current X. If the specs and upgrades aren't that signifiant, then I will try and pick up a 256GB iPhone X when they drop in price.

Don’t see myself being tempted to return to a Plus size phone. So will likely depend on what value I put on the increments to the 5.8 OLED and whether they’re sufficient to warrant the £400-500 it will doubtless cost me to change from my 256GB X. Trade in prices in the UK are currently around £650 for the 256GB - I would generally “lock in” a price immediately before the keynote.
So, for now, undecided.

When I got the X, I quickly realised that this year was going to be all about the 'Plus' models. I have little to no interest in a larger device so it's going to take a lot to make me want to upgrade my X this year. That said - everyone that wants a plus model will most likely upgrade - not a bad strategy by Apple...lets see if it pays off.

Outside of the larger screen size offerings, I see very little coming to this years new X. Most likely the usual processor and camera upgrades. I personally don't even see RAM being upped. They'll reserve the 4gb RAM bump for the + model. At best there might be Face ID 2.0, to support landscape unlocking / slightly faster. I still think I'll end up waiting for the 2019 models though - it should hopefully offer more to upgrade for.

I hope I'm wrong, I hate thinking we are going back to only the plus models getting the best features/internals again :(

After thinking about it some more , I think I will not upgrade my X this year. I’ve had every Plus model out and got used to the size of the X. I’ve ended up buying 16 different cases and will just keep switching to a different case to make me feel like my phone is brand new. I would rather wait for 2019 also for Plus X model.

My plan is to purchase the new iPhone with the LCD screen. I will also be switching at the same time from AT&T to Verizon due to better signal and a better data plan for the same amount of money.

I have the same thought as well after further consideration. The incoming new releases are the “S” cycle with expectation of minimal significant (no big deal) improvements: larger size which less than 1 inch for the plus and LCD, 1 GB more of RAM for the plus as expected. All three releases would retain the iPhone X design as its second generation or spawns. Unless, you do not mind spending money for insignificant improvements, no brain is needed to get one this year. However, if 512 gb storage is available, I might change my mind.

We have the same thought. This year is the “s” cycle of iPhone X for all its spawns including the plus size, which is less than 1 inch.

I agree with the "S" or "tock" thinking.

However, the "S" phones were always the better of the two...
