So many dongles... what do those pictures remind me of?

That's right....
Mac-PC.jpg

Funny how things change.

The irony is that so many of you are so caught up in the group-think here that you can't see that long-term, the new Thunderbolt 3 ports will greatly streamline connectivity on the MBP. Those of you who still want your HDMI, mDP, usb-a, magsafe, etc. would have a mass of cables connected to both sides of the MacBook any time you were set up with all these peripherals. With Thunderbolt 3 you can have a dock hidden away and 1 clean cable connecting to the laptop. Even cleaner than the iMac in the picture.

I should buy a Google Pixel phone it comes with a really nice and small adaptor.... come with the phone... not an extra $25. Now no idea what to do, I'm due for a new laptop and was hoping to get the a new Pro. but might consider the 2015 version instead.

The OWC USB-C Dock says 80W of power to charge your device, but the AC Adapter for the 15" MBP is 87W. I wonder if this will cause issues for users?

I repeat: just for the fun of it of course, there ought to be a yearly ‘Dongle Day’ on the calendar.

Or add a ‘Dongle score’ to each new product. Make a Dongle game etc.

And then once you buy the $25 USB C to Lightning cable, you need a power adapter to go with it.

Why? Just use your old cable.

Anyway, instead of buying a new cable, I just bought USB C to A adaptors on Amazon. You get two for six bucks.

The least thing Apple could do now, is give us a proper SD-to-USBC cable like the Lightning one. The offered alternatives are bulky and ugly.

Confounding.

It's like they actually hate their loyal customer base. You buy the latest phone and the latest Laptop, and you cant plug it in without buying an adapter. You buy fancy new headphones you were more-or-less forced into for your brand new phone and you can't use those without buying ANOTHER ADAPTER.

Seriously, what. the. heck.

Except... that's not how life usually works. I can't tell you how many times I've wondered: where is my VGA dongle?

But ok... if you want to be optimistic. Sure.
