Finally in stock in my nearest Apple Store, I'm going to pick mine up on Monday, failing that (i.e. already sold out) I'll order one from AppleStore online, they're now showing as "In stock" with delivery to my relatively remote location in three days

Good luck DW58 i hope they have them left, sure they will and its worth the wait, loving mine!!!:D

I'm going to call them at the crack of sparrow's fart on monday before I set off, no point in a 140-mile round-trip if they've sold out.

I'm looking forward not just to the 27" display, but to hooking up my other gizmos to the display's hub.

All being well I'll be up and running Monday pm - thanks

UPS sucks ass

So I waited nearly 2 months for this monitor to ship and now it shipped via UPS Ground, which in my opinion sucks monkey a$$hole. 6 business days to ship from California to Chicago?!? Are you kidding me????? I ordered a new MacBook Pro back in April and I got it in 2 - 3 days all the way from Shenzen CHINA!!!! What a bunch of bull$h1t!

All set up and typing from my new Thunderbolt display. It truly is a thing of beauty.

I picked up the display yesterday at the Old Orchard (Chicago area) Apple Store. They didn't have them on display ;)

But they said that some arrived that day and had them in back. I asked them to bring one up to make sure it was a TB or just a Cinema display. After confirmation, bought the sucker.

Now happily connected to my MBP 13'.

Still trying to get use to such a large screen, but it sure looks sweet :D

Just picked one up at the Bellevue Square store outside Seattle. Saw another customer buying one, as well. The store has an Apple Thunderbolt Display connected to a Mac Mini.

Do you mean MacBook Pro?

My apple store has the ACD still connected to the MacPro; maybe the poster meant the Mac Pro but which was connected to the ACD instead of the ATD?

Damn, now I really want to get one, but I already have the ACD and more miniDP macs than TB macs....ugh the choices...

The store has two Apple Thunderbolt Displays on display - one is connected to a Mac Mini and one is connected to a Mac Pro.

I think what dubADub is trying to get at is that the new ATD only works with thunderbolt ports; since the Mac Pro doesn't have a thunderbolt port, its likely that the display connected to the Mac Pro was not a Thunderbolt Display but rather a Cinema Display

No, one isn't connected to a Mac Pro. At the moment, there is no Mac Pro that can support the Thunderbolt display. What you're looking at is the 27" Apple Cinema Display, which from the front is indistinguishable from the Thunderbolt display.

Understood. So yes, it would have been an ACD.

Call Apple and complain. Also consider decaf.

Great idea. I ordered one. The description says it's not compatible with Macs though.

Found a solution for my 2.1 external speaker system.

Picked it up at Best Buy today. Lion had no trouble recognizing it under System Preferences/Sound/Output.

DarwinOSX, ya you can ignore the description it works perfectly. Just make sure to go to System Preferences/Sound/Output and select it from the list (only have to do this once), and you'll be good to go!

Picked mine up this morning from Aberdeen. I haven't had a chance to un-pack it yet as I only got back twenty minutes ago.

hi all, do you test your Apple Thunderbolt Display?
http://imac.squeaked.com/test.php
:(:(
I have the Yellow Screen problem......

Honestly I haven't checked mine. I don't see an issue with it with blank safari pages on the screen so I'm not even going to test it.

It was obvious my last iMac had an issue with yellow tinge right off the bat so I returned it. If I check my display and find in inconsistency then it'll just bother me :p

mine has some light leakage in the bottom left corner..a little on the bottom right too. Don't think its worth exchanging over though...
no yellow tinge, no dead pixels

No problems with mine at all - colour is great, very sharp and great brightness - the best display I've ever used.
