Is it? The market has been massively volatile the past month and most of the gains made the past year have been erased. GM is closing plants in US and Canada largely in response to poorly thought out steel tariffs and we're entering a full on trade war with China. Unemployment is low but so is wage growth and whatever positives have occurred are largely a continuation of the Obama years. Keep your head in the sand though, I'm sure you'll have another excuse when the economy becomes more and more unstable over the next two years.

This is a rich view of the economy but not surprising. Let me sum up what he means. "Everything good about the economy is to Obama's credit. Everything bad about the economy is Trump's fault." Never mind that the entire eight years of Obama libs and Obama told you that it was Bush's fault that the economy sucked. Pathetic but predictable.

Same, I am not afraid to give credit where credit is due. Obama was a good president socially - but I think his foreign policy absolutely sucked.

May I ask how he was a good president socially? I was never really nuts about his immediate comments made after police shootings with no information. And his speeches labeling all republicans as bigots didn’t really work to close the divide. His domestic policy sucked too.

The visit is part of Ivanka Trump's ongoing workforce development and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education initiatives. Last year, the Trump administrationreached out to Cook
and other major technology, business, and education leaders for advice regarding STEM education in public

Why - because Ivanka Drumpf loves and studied STEM subjects?!

Few liberals seems to recall how divisive Obama was towards his political opponents -- and that includes Republican voters -- probably because the media always quarterbacked for him.

"We’re gonna punish our enemies, and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us."

Remember that gem of a quote from him back in 2010? Punish your enemies -- what is this, China? Russia? And of course his famous "get in their faces" quote.

A uniter, he was not.

I had a love-hate relationship with him. The parts you are referencing made me really dislike Obama. A lot. However, I felt he was more respected on the world stage and more of a "world leader" then Trump (and I am a Trump voter). I also felt Obama had the ability to hide a lot of how he was actually feeling about issues and keep a calm, cool, collected head. I've noticed Trump seems to be able to dish it out but not take it very well. You can tell when something ticks him off. I felt Obama was able to bring communities of different people together more - legalizing gay marriage was something that needed to be done, his issues on weed were good, equal pay for women.. etc. Those things I liked. What I hated about Obama was again, what you mentioned - Obama did paint the other side in a bad light just like Trump does - he also had a very big disconnect to rural America, much like Trump has a disconnect to minorities.

And in actuality - Obama campaigned on a lot of things Trump did - even his stance on China.. Obama said all of the things Trump did.. but Obama never did them. I actually think Obama and Trump really are not very different if you look at what both campaigned on. The only difference is Trump is executing them. The Obama admin even deported the most amount of illegal aliens.. out of any president.. ever. So to Think Trump is this outlandish crazy person on the boarder really is kinda funny to me. My other problem with Obama was his constant war on the 1% - yet he could have punished a lot of those 1%'ers after they literally crashed the entire economy and I think Obama only sent one big banker to jail, and compared to the rest of the bankers.. this guy wasnt even that big of a deal... but someone had to go down and they chose this bottom of the barrel dude that took all of the blame.

"Oh hey, I've posted enough on the forum that I can now reply to political discussions! I'm sure people will be discussing the conflicts between the Trump administration's policies and actions and Apple/Tim Cook's stated positions on those issues in a calm and fact-based manner."

*looks at the dumpster fire of right wing doom*

LOL...one of Obama's major campaign promises back in 2007/2008 was to reform health care. He achieved that within his first two years in office. When Trump campaigned in 2016, he claimed that he would provide a better/cheaper health care plan than Obama's and that it would be easy to do. What happened to that better/cheaper health care plan? Vapor. Trump's incredibly poor performance in the health care area was one of the major factors in voter turnout in the recent mid-term elections.

I think on the world stage it’s all a performance good or bad. I remember Obama’s apology tour when he first got in. That was some first class major ass kissing to get that “respect”. You voted for him as did I, I’m pretty certain we know we weren’t voting for Mr. Congeniality. He’s a true New Yorker, I’m from NY too, and this is what you get lol. The respect is there, he is the leader, of it wasn’t, they all would had rejected him. They all sit down with him, and many have left with deals. The image is that he dishes it out, the reality is they dish it, and he dishes it back. I think a lot of the time he doesn’t need to mind you, but if anybody watched the last 3 years of Bush, he just took it and took it. It’s was easy for Obama to hide how he was feeling, he didn’t have a media constantly piling on top of him? Taking things out of context, Other leaders from his party laying it on him, for the most part, people gave him an honest shot. When he did his deportations everyone kept quiet, Trump does it and he’s ripping families apart. As far as the campaigns, Republicans are terrible at it. They basically highlight the mistakes democrats make like Hillary’s deplorables and Pelosi’s crumbs. Democrats campaign platform is Republicans are racist, mysogenistic, homophobic, and they are only for the rich.

Any time someone turns up sleeping with the fishes Trump rushes to defend the dictators.

I don't see anything wrong with this at all. They're supporting education and technology for underprivileged children, we should all be championing that.

Except, of course, that never actually happened. He didn't apologize for anything. That's a right-wing myth.

Trump isn't respected by most world leaders. They deal with him because they have no choice, given the influence of the US and its economy, but, by and large, they consider him a clown.

The responses about Ivanka are the best part of this thread. Those posting, who are threatened by a strong, successful woman, seem to be lashing out in fear. If this were a Democrat woman, she would be lauded as a champion.

Q: Is she evil? How so? What have you done in furtherance of children's education?

(Full disclosure, I have done nothing in furtherance of children's education)

yes, does NOT mean I have to CONTINUE supporting apple............hell I would be more inclined to support them if they brought production to the US
I don't see it happening... not when they can pay $400/month in China and any US worker with that electronics knowledge wants minimally $60,000/year.

You are cherry picking what I am saying and I agree with you on this issue. Trump has accomplished things in his presidency just as Obama did. My post may have read that Obama didn’t execute what he said and that’s not how it was suppose to read- I was mainly referring to their stances on China. Both presidents while campaigning were saying how China was ripping us off- Obama didn’t do much about it even after he threatened to call them a currency manipulator- something Trump also said. Trump is actually one of the first presidents to take a large anti China stance- and its good he is- as China has a plan to replace America on the world stage with their Silk Road project and their Made In China 20XX projects.
