it would be great if Tim started to think different...

Tim is trying to brainwash the kids to think like a global society and share their money with others. Given he is worth around 1billion dollars give a or take a few million here or there.

Think different as in make shht up: :apple:Car, :apple:TV, :apple:AR, :apple:Glucose Monitor, and when all else fails, more stock buybacks. Cook's employment deal with the board of directors will be in the money soon enough. I hope he takes Ive and Schiller with him as he heads for the exit.

Jobs didn't even want customers to be able to open the original Macintosh.

Are you certain that was his intention? In an era when it was common, even necessary, to “build” or modify a PC to suit One’s needs, the Macintosh was an out-of-the-box solution that appealed to persons who didn’t want to tinker with such things.

Fast forward to today and what was once a selling feature has morphed into a handicap that exacerbates repair costs and accelerates product obsolescence.

Then don't buy Apple products. Buy stuff from companies that support Republicans.
I mean why is this so difficult? Being mad at what Tim Cook is doing with his own time is fruitless.

There is always those who hate on those enjoying and enriching other people's lives, everyday.

I enjoy seeing Tim being a positive influence, he does commencements every year. Just like a lot of important, inspiring people.

Industry standards aren't meant to be standards forever.

"I skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been."

True, but that doesn't mean they skated to the right place. They skated to where they THOUGHT the puck would be, or even skated to where they wanted to and expected the puck to follow. After writing that I think it was the former.

Is this guy *ever* at the Apple campus? Judging from his tweets it’d seems he is everywhere else but. The kind of lavatorial quality control of products and services Apple is suffering under him is shameful and disgusting. He only seems to be interested in nothing more than cash in his fat pockets and biased, liberal, lopsided agenda-driven politics.

Just leave Apple and run for a Dem post already FFS, at least give Apple a bloody chance to get back to great products again!
Everything you said is your anectodal opinion. The numbers (practically all of them) tell a different story.

Cook is doing a phenomenal job, period. Every company has problems. Apple manages them well.

If Apple released a human centred designed phone - an iPhone SE 2 with a one-hand usable screen, same form factor, kickass battery and cameras, shrink the massive iOS 11 menus in Music etc, give iOS some more depth (some "real" skeuomorphism), Touch ID under the screen, price aggressively and go for volume - that thing would ****ing explode.

Amen. Users can scream from the mountaintops how they can like the modern look or can work with the "clean" (but so-unfinished-looking and hard to quickly digest) look of:

but too many have forgotten how just a little bit of contrast, boldness, colors, framing, grids, buttons, etc., add a certain context that is almost subconsciously registered and lends itself to providing that "it just works" reputation Apple used to have, such as:

Steve Jobs, MLK, Robert Kennedy... pick one that doesn't fit.

Steve Jobs.

I honesty didn’t realize how disliked Tim Cook was on this forum. A lot of people seem to strongly dislike him.

Its just a bunch of people who want a public figure to beat up on because the company did or didn't do something to their liking. Also, they don't know him personally, so the disconnection of relationship breeds contempt toward him. It helps some of them feel better about themselves because they feel they can run the company better.

Think differently, as long as you follow his political indoctrination in lockstep

Sage Timmy

He's trying to get the word out, instead of giving people the opportunity to actually decide for themselves.

Steve was basically talking about Apple only.... That's defiantly how how the way it is, otherwise every other company would like like Apple as well.

I wish Apple would instead focus on making products instead of trying to push everyone down a path they don't wanna go down.

I like Tim but I disagree with him on some key issues. I think his "crime" in the Apple community is not being Steve Jobs and head of a company no longer making leading edge tech products. Since Steve passed there has been very little "new" innovation while at the same time, making debatable design choices (premature removal of headphone jack, Magsafe axed, no legacy ports on MacBook Pro, etc.)

Steve is an incredibly tough act to follow....for ANYONE!!!

Hmm, I don’t think that fits to people like those who spent thousands on the new MacBook Pro, only for its keyboard to break when it gets dusty. Or those of us with iPhones who had their performance deliberately throttled for over a year without knowing about it.. in fact your post is pretty naive and genralistic.
