I honesty didn’t realize how disliked Tim Cook was on this forum. A lot of people seem to strongly dislike him.

They just want a Mac Mini. They would betray their family, friends and country to get a cheap Mac.

The problem with Tim's Apple is that the "Think Different" motto has been completely perverted. Now, it is like this:

(a pop up appears)
"Do you agree to think like Apple wants you to think?"

Buttons below the pop up:
"I agree"
"Ask me later"

...Tim Cook has obviously no idea about what "Think Different" means. He's into political/ideological lobbying, and his political fierceness has caused a lot of harm in turning Apple design into control/domination strategies.

I don’t mean this as a criticism but something that came to mind watching him: Tim Cook reminds me in this speech as a disciple of Jesus after his death or the followers of Socrates who spread his messages after his death. In the same way As those people, Tim Cook tries to distill Steve Jobs down to a few virtuous qualities and ideas and codifies them into a permanence.

I don't regret Tim Cook being at Apple. It just feels like they need a co-leader, someone else who's a bit more of a "wild card." I know so little about other people at Apple I couldn't say who, but my instinct is someone like Scott Forstall, maybe because it would follow the same pattern of Steve Jobs being fired from Apple and returning to save it.

Industry standards aren't meant to be standards forever.

"I skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been."

No sense skating there 10 years before it arrives or you’ll be waiting a long damn time before you can do anything useful.

Scott Forstall thought too different so they fired him. Apple’s becoming a hot mess of bad decisions these days.

That's what people do who aren't successful or haven't done much with or made anything of their life; whine about and hate on those who have. Jealousy.

No sharp pencil required ... Cook is the face of Apple so, if you've got a bone to pick with Apple, Cook will be the target.

Furthermore, Cook has used his position to make political statements, which further opens his door to ridicule and disparagement, from those holding opposing views.

Apple CEO Tim Cook today delivered the 2018 commencement address at his alma mater Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Cook challenged students to "think different" rather than accept the status quo, and to leave the world better than they found it, by following in the footsteps of leaders like Steve Jobs, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr. He also reflected on Apple's commitment to the environment and privacy.

An excerpt from his speech:Cook's commencement address was similar to those he has delivered at a number of other universities in recent years, including at his undergraduate alma mater Auburn University in 2010, at George Washington University in 2015, and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology last year.

Cook is a 1988 graduate of Duke's Fuqua School of Business and a member of the university's Board of Trustees.

The speech is truly inspiring and a guiding principle to life.

To all the haters, this might explain your frustrations with Apple “not being as good as it used to be”:

Statistically that would be about 0.2% of them that own a mini. If we are generous maybe a quarter of them really care enough about an update to want to chant about it. Those 19 students would make a thunderous noise.
0.2%, because no one with two brain cells to run together, would buy the currently offered Mac Mini.

So we are in the 'Chicken or the egg' stage. Do people not buy it because it's a pathetically out of date offering, or do they not buy it because it is out of place in the modern computing world? I which you would lean toward, while I lean the other way.

He is getting as bad at Musk at stretching the truth. Apple isn't run on 100% green energy, they just buy enough RECs to pretend they do. Hope they get a sweet discount on carbon credits from Al Gore.

Hmmm.... think different??? Like Tim Cook does??? Hmmm.... ok graduates, get in line...

Tim Cook is going to remove your interface ports. Don’t worry, it’ll increase your productivity.

If you want to interface with each other, you’ll need to go to our special Apple connectivity center.
