"Because the bidding totals ran so high with bidders clamoring for a moment in the spotlight, CharityBuzz was forced to implement bank qualification terms before additional bids could be placed, which slowed bidding considerably."
So I can assume you guys have $600,000 to throw around ?
Is Katy Perry up for bid? I'd rather spend (donate) my money on her.

Good Grief! Whatever happened to the 'down button'?
This thread has deteriorated from a discussion of the charitable auction to poster above apparently pimping off his next door neighbor.
There's a message here...![]()
With this talk of billionaires, it's funny that people still don't seem to understand how much money a billion is.
Say the average MacRumors reader has $100,000 in assets. However much $610,000 seems to you, to a person with $100 million in assets, that's like a $610 coffee date. For a billionaire, it's like a $61 lunch. Not quite a trivial decision, but close to it, particularly if you get any business benefit at all. Billionaires are truly living in a different world from the rest of us.
that's right up our alley, ain't it![]()
Who...me??
You suggest a sweet, naive, clean in mind - clean in body, inexperienced gentleman like myself would know anything about such matters??
(I'd feel bad about going OT here, but this thread jumped the shark a long time ago.)
If you were a billionaire, you wouldn't need to.
But, if you wanted publicity, or actually cared about the charity that will be supported, you just might.
If, however, you were the head of some sort of startup that needed exposure, this might be a great chance.
don't feel bad, I just submitted a report to mods. should help rectify those unpleasant feelings..![]()
poor Tim, he's probably going to have to sit through some guys sales pitch
Steve would've easily hit $1Million! maybe even more!![]()
