those people saying that it was a waste of money are exactly the ones who don't have this kind of money to throw around :D

Here's the crazy part: Let's say people were willing to pay $610,000 for half an hour of Tim Cook's time in general and Cook decided to match Apple's net profit last year. Furthermore, let's assume he is willing to work 365 days a year without pay. How many hours would he have to work a day?

Answer: 94 hours :)

The problem with Katy is that you never know quite what to expect. Hopefully, makeup artist fee is included.

he he he- excellent. Time well spent and probably saved me a 20 quid bid.

Tim - its on all you to be charismatic and entertaining dude - 600k after all.
Although its got to be a tax write off for a company, so my moneys on an hour long pitch.

If there were that many people each willing to donate over a hundred grand for charity, Tim should have coffee with all of them, one per week til he's seen em all. They're coffee breaks he's going to take anyway, and it'd fund his charity for years.

This is the Apple weak side. Apple should be donating significant sums of money to charities, support public music and arts events, contribute specifically to the culturally void US market in large cities. Cook, like Jobs before, instead of counting and collecting every single bean for self benefit would be better off paying every year the San Francisco Symphony to do a grand free to the public concert. Anything to fight the American social and cultural decline.

Auctions like this are nothing more than pure embarrassment to what is referred as the richest world corporation. After years of very successful markets cash acquisition, one on that economic scale should understand the need to contribute back to the society.

You do get that the money goes to charity right?

Ok so. I'm looking at it from the buyers point of view. $600,000 for coffee with a person?

What's is this world come to.

OK, let's try again. The $600K is not for coffee with a person, it is a contribution to a charity...amusingly set up as an auction. The "prize" in the auction is, for all intents and purposes, irrelevant.

What the world is coming to, in this situation, is a big contribution to a charitable organization...rather a nice place to come to...for a change.:D

Well I seriously doubt who ever payed those $610,000 did it because they wanted to donated it to charity. I bet they could careless where that money went.

Anyways I'm not here to argue. Good bye.

But Thats just my opinion .
