Tough to do when the dominating party in both the Senate and House, along with the executive branch want to end the program.

Well, they can make a deal with Trump... but they don’t want to. Because they like having the problem as a campaign issue more than the actual solution.

Typical politicians.

“Privacy to us is a human right, it's a civil liberty and it's something that is unique to America."

So wrong on the values above being unique to America. Apparently Cook believes Apple don’t make a ton of money either. .

In other words Apple censors all content and apps, but are better at it than facebook, so they don't get caught in the media fire storm.

And, more importantly, unlike FaceBook, Apple apps will likely never be party to influencing/interfering with US elections.

"On the subject of what Cook would do if he was Mark Zuckerberg re: Cambridge Analytica: "What would I do? I wouldn't be in this situation." ... "We curate. We don't want porn on our App Store. We don't want hate speech on our App Store. We don't want the ability to recruit terrorists on our App Store. We're looking at every app in detail. Is it doing what it is saying it is doing?""

Is this the same company that had personal photos leaked because average users are not savvy enough to protect their iCloud account?

Many years ago. Try to get celebrity pictures now. Apple has the best security of any devices. Also, you're excusing little miserable hackers from responsibility for a federal crime.

It did start here. A humanist revolution against the crowned heads of Europe.

How sadly predictable. The mere mention of "immigrants" brings out the perpetually aggreved.

I do think Apple's focus on privacy will pay dividends down the road. But I do wish they'd find a way to make Maps and Siri better even whilst using sandboxed data.

Again kind of mixed messages here. Hey students, buy our iPad, but coding is important, and unfortunately you need a Mac or PC for that.

It’s too bad the current administration does not give a damn about education. Devos is awful and funds are being cut or mismanaged. It almost seems it’s the GOP plan to keep America ignorant so they can easily persuade voters.
It’s sad how little money and investment our schools.

There are plenty of people who disagree with you (and who you know). It’s a self selecting sample. Don’t fall for confirmation bias.

Have you sent me your money yet, since it's not worth, and also your little bland book of contrariness?

They're working on that. The anonymized aggregated content to feed into their AI efforts is a great move to balance privacy and scale for AI.

depends what you are coding. There's no Visual Studio for iPad (and barely for Mac right now) but you can code in a variety of other tools. Swift Playgrounds is also a great learning tool for kids.

Surprised this isn’t a green thread.

EDIT: I guess it is now.

That’s why he’s overseen successful products like the Apple Watch and grown Apple a lot, they guy is entitled to his political opinions and to express where the company stands. I would rather that than a guy who says nothing at least it lets the consumer also know where Apple stands on issues such as privacy.

If Apple Watch is the best you can cite to show Tim can create great products, it’s not a very strong argument. There is scant real innovation in Apple products nowadays. And at some point its gonna catch up with Apple. And the stock is gonna crash hard.

With all these privacy questions did she happen to ask him about China?

Give me a break. Education has been a mess for decades regardless of administration. The Left/Right Duopoly don't give a cr*p about educating children. And throwing money at it will solve nothing.

You mean that Apple Watch that’s selling really well and is the number one smartwatch  also that other successful thing called AirPods that everyone seems to love, but yea I’m sure the same old boring saying that “Apple is doomed” and “Tim Cook should be fired” is completely 100% right :rolleyes:o_O

Quick everyone sell your stocks Apple is dooomed I tell you dooomed.

It’s nothing personal and I’m not taking the Micky here but this same old thing has been said for years, yet Apple keep innovating and keep bringing out products that people love and use. It’s getting really boring now to keep hearing the same old line, if you don’t like where the ship is heading you should get off :)

The DACA situation is one that I am personally, as an American, deeply offended by. The DACA situation is not an immigration issue. It's a moral issue

Someone worth over $100 million telling the peasants who got displaced by unfettered illegal immigration that it is a 'moral issue'. What about the 'moral issue' you create when you import millions of illegal aliens to displace Americans so billion dollar companies can save a buck.

Not the best optics.

I'm not excusing it but lets face it, over 500 million people have iPhones and they capture extremely sensitive data ....infact much more sensitive than what Facebook and third party apps were doing. The average person doesn't realize the implications of having your data synced with a cloud and the risks. A lot of times it's a friendly screen asking you to sign into iCloud. A company the size of Apple has a duty to really watch out for their end users because not everyone realizes what they are sharing in the cloud.
