Yep, I don't want my news from the 35 or 40 limited sources Apple approves of. Thats not freedom of speech. Until Apple allows all news sources without prejudice, this is just a form of censorship with enough marketing resources to make people that its not.

Cook has a political view and Apple will enforce that political view through its news App. I for one find that no different that what Putin does with the media in Russia, or the what the current dictator in Venezuela does with its media. We have a First Amendment for a reason and Cook is a proponent of suppressing speech that is not to his liking, regardless of the Constitution or legality.

Which legitimate news sources are you being deprived of in the News app? And by news sources, I mean news organizations that employ journalists and editors, engage in original reporting, edit and fact check stories, etc - and not exist merely to inflame the masses via unsourced editorial and entertainment.

"We have a First Amendment for a reason and Cook is a proponent of suppressing speech that is not to his liking, regardless of the Constitution or legality."

It appears you do not understand what the first amendment is about or who it pertains to.

With that aside, what speech is not to Mr. Cook's liking that he is trying to suppress? Please be very specific.

That would eliminate half to three quarters of the news organizations in Apple news. And that is the point. He selected many news sources that do not even meet your standard, while excluding ones that I think do meet that standard.

Of course you'll disagree with me about which ones, and that is fine. That is what freedom of speech is all about. But Cook disagreeing with me is censorship, because he keeps me from getting the real news (IMO). When he or any one else controls what millions of people read every day and excludes alternate opinions, that is censorship.

But Cook represents your world view and so screw me, I don't deserve any freedom of speech since I disagree with your world view. Not very fair in my opinion.

"That would eliminate half to three quarters of the news organizations in Apple news."

Well, I did go out on a limb thinking you'd most be interested in news sources with high standards. The fact that others are included as well, speaks to Apple News having a huge range of sources to choose from.

"But Cook disagreeing with me is censorship, because he keeps me from getting the real news (IMO)"

How is Cook disagreeing with you? Please list some specifics. And how does he keep you from getting the "real news." Please list some specific "real news" sources Tim Cook is keeping you from getting.

"When he or any one else controls what millions of people read every day and excludes alternate opinions, that is censorship."

What alternate opinions is he excluding. Be specific. Up at the top you said 3/4 of the news sources are editorial; i.e. opinion.

"But Cook represents your world view and so screw me, I don't deserve any freedom of speech since I disagree with your world view. Not very fair in my opinion."

I have no idea what Mr. Cook's worldview is. Do you? And you nor Mr. Cook have no idea what mine is, and similarly I have no idea what yours is. And who said you don't deserve freedom of speech? You have it. Go for it. It's easy.

Please, list a half dozen news sources you're interested in that Apple News doesn't include. That should be very easy since you feel so strongly that Mr. Cook is out to censor and deprive what you're interested in.

Give me a break. Education has been a mess for decades regardless of administration. The Left/Right Duopoly don't give a cr*p about educating children. And throwing money at it will solve nothing.

100% true. We HAVE thrown zillions of dollars at education and a lot of it ends up in the pockets of those that work in the education field via salary, pensions and benefits. Or, the education system ends up being an indoctrination vehicle for the left. Just look at what they "teach" at public schools which are supposed to be neutral. Yeah, right.

Then, onto college the kids get shoved. Again - more super-left leaning agendas and BS spewed. Huge tuition costs. Tons of kids saddled with horrible debt and useless degrees.

Yeah, education is doing a great job. Uh huh. Just throw them a few more bucks.

I believe Steve Jobs would disagree with you since he appointed Tim Cook to reign as CEO. Aside from your disrespectful comment without even making a valid reason why you believe Tim Cook is “Dumb” , I would say Tim Cook is a fairly smart and competent individual who has led Apple success since 2011 in many different avenues.
The poster said "Cook is dumb like a fox", not that "Cook is dumb". Foxes are considered to be rather crafty, intelligent canines. Read a little more carefully.

Typical leftist statement, "Yes, everybody really agrees with my views." And also: "Those that disagree with me are hateful, anti-science, far right..etc.".

Democrats (including rich liberals) want to import millions of (mostly uneducated) people that vote 85-90% for the Democratic Party, while simultaneously ruining the welfare system, societal cohesion and social trust. That's called "undermining democracy" and "importing voters". This is an incredibly cynical policy, just like Democrats calling voter ID "racist" to hide the fact that illegal immigrants overwhelmingly vote Democrat.

Oh, the hypocrisy...
Illegal immigrants overwhelmingly don't/can't vote.

Wrong. That's the whole point why Democrats don't want voter ID. Just because CNN don't report on the issue (and falsely claim it's a "conspiracy theory"), doesn't mean it's not happening. Besides, there are plenty of Democrats now who openly state they want "undocumented" immigrants being able to vote. Truly absurd.

What does any of your above quote have anything to do with the fact it was a snide comment about Cook in the first place? Regardless, it was un-called for and unrelated. You literally you wasted your time trying to interpret someone else’s post for the sake of semantics.

Look up "dumb like a fox" - it is a phrase which is meant to convey a meaning on a deep level which is contrary to its surface interpretation. It requires a sense of irony to interpret, as is related to paradox. It was not a "snide" comment, but meant to convey that Cook is actually quite crafty as a CEO. Google the phrase. In any case, as I wasn't the OP that is all I'l say about it. You'll find that some of the best and most successful trial lawyers have the same characteristic.

It was not when I posted this nearly a week ago.
