Why would you think he has the moral obligation to "help reduce poverty, famine, etc"?

I think we all do, some have a better platform than others to do that. What I'm saying is money should not be the driving force and yet it seems that's what it is. I'm not having a go a cook either, just want more people to be aware that more money isn't the goal. Reducing poverty, global warming, destruction of habitats etc are all more important.

What is the point of all of apples money if they don't use it for good?

The financial results pretty much speak for themselves. He's certainly right up there. There are a lot of great leaders, but Tim Cook seems to have done a lot right.

In 1984 we had a weird little Apple at the company I worked for. It seems almost unreal that the company that made it is now the world's most valuable!

His the jean luc picard of Star Trek, politically correct, good guy, but boring. Everyone preferred Kirk .

Had to double check to see that yes...that is Taylor Swift at #6. Nothing against her but #6 best world leader? Not seeing it.

Tim's definitely doing' it.

True, Jobs laid the foundation & got all the wheels lined up at the cost of alienating thousands on a daily basis.

Tim has taken the ball & run far higher thanks to his ability to be an empathetic leader, treat everybody fairly & not be afraid to change when needed. Steve was completely incapable of that due to his swollen ego & inability to admit mistakes.

The stock price & company wide growth since Steve's passing help show this.

Go Tim!

Interesting that a homosexual operates the most successful company in terms of market cap. Maybe this is a sign we need a homosexual for President?

Please. If anything, world's greatest cheerleader of slow non upgradable computers and overpriced movile devices....

Well deserved title as for marketing. Personally the title 'World;s Greatest Leader' reflects on more then just running a company, despite on how big has become i.m.h.o. I can think of more difficult situations where other "leaders" have to deal with and takes even more challenge then Cook has to deal with...

But none the less, gratulations with the title. Like I said, in terms of running a company he deserves this title. Apple has become the world most richest company under his command.... :apple:

Tim Cook has done a very good job with Apple. Yet that said, the title of world's greatest leader doesn't seem to fit.

is this a greater social context comment on the status of corporate influence on government when a corporate leader is the world's greatest leader, and not a leader/or coalition of government leaders who are supposed to represent the will of their people?
