A daft and ultimately pointless list, but seriously, who is the world's greatest leader?
His the jean luc picard of Star Trek, politically correct, good guy, but boring. Everyone preferred Kirk .
Taylor Swift is #6. I don't know what to make of this list.
Whoopsie cushion = gimmicky
Best selling cell phone people use every day = not gimmicky
It's too bad Bill Gates can't win EVERY award. No one else should even be considered. Why hasn't BG ever been named People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive? Is philanthropy not sexy enough? This is the same BS that Time did naming Jobs the person of the decade or CEO. Whatever made up title they gave him.
What about Bill Gates, not only a fantastic CEO but a humanitarian that has refrained from using slander. Im sorry but Apple watch, iPhone 90, and iPad Helium arent going to progress us as humans nearly as much as eradicating diseases. How about we give praise where it is due. Name Bill Gates Worlds Greatest Leader. He has done leaps and bounds more for humanity than Tim Cook.

Come on. Bill Gates has been given so many awards that he has to keep some of them in boxes in his garage.
I think we all do, some have a better platform than others to do that. What I'm saying is money should not be the driving force and yet it seems that's what it is. I'm not having a go a cook either, just want more people to be aware that more money isn't the goal. Reducing poverty, global warming, destruction of habitats etc are all more important.
What is the point of all of apples money if they don't use it for good?
Exactly. If the watch fails, he must go.Puh-lease. World's greatest leader my ______. He's been sitting at the CEO spot of a company at its peak for 2-3 years now. All he's done is churn out new versions of old products. Oh, but wait, the miracle Watch is coming in a few weeks.

Kathryn Janeway FTWOh please, everybody knows Picard was the better Captain - and the one most people prefer. I don't much care for what people think of Tim Cook/Steve Jobs, but I'll argue this one until the cows come home.![]()
Ohh Jeeeeeeesus! And? I still stand by my point that under Tim's watch (no pun intended), Apple has just sailed along making the same old things. Sure, there's a Watch coming. But labeling Tim as the world's greatest leader is just wrong. I'm not saying he's a bad guy nor am I saying he is a poor leader. But World's Greatest Leader? Come on. Folks should also note that Fortune magazine is just a magazine and its opinions (typically financial opinions of publicly traded USA companies) are from their staff. I didn't see any world-wide voting contest here. It's predictive to see Fortune choose a)a CEO, b)from a public company, c)from a very profitable company right now.
Wait till Bill Burr hears about this.
I like what he's done in some areas but not in others.
Likey:
- Smaller iPad
- Larger iPhone
- Opening up iOS (albeit slowly)
- Settled lawsuits, and also he's not so trigger-happy on the suing front
Not so likey:
- Mac revisions slower than their predecessors
- Soldered RAM
- Removal of functionality just so they can be thinner
- Drop in level of quality control on software and hardware
Kathryn Janeway FTW
I don't see it. He does not seem like a great leader. He seems like an amazing follower.
You must be forgetting about BlackBerry! Sorry but a personal device that holds no historical value is gimmicky. In 10 years there is a good chance Apple will be on the verge of collapsing again and no one will remember what they did. World Leaders are people that changed the world, not incremented their bank accounts. Best I can do is CEO of worlds richest company.
If you don't see it, you're blind.
The stock has been going up for years before steve's death, nothing changed.True, Jobs laid the foundation & got all the wheels lined up at the cost of alienating thousands on a daily basis.
Tim has taken the ball & run far higher thanks to his ability to be an empathetic leader, treat everybody fairly & not be afraid to change when needed. Steve was completely incapable of that due to his swollen ego & inability to admit mistakes.
The stock price & company wide growth since Steve's passing help show this.
Go Tim!
