Reminds me of the Hands up don’t shoot movement, which is never to be found at the daily shootings of Americans, white or black, by other AA. 15 to 1 ratio. But the second a statistical anomaly, like white cops shoot a thug, they’re all up in arms.

Facts have always been inconvenient to folks with extreme views, typically driven by emotional gut feelings and propaganda.
Cool story, bro.

A very heart felt message from Apple and Tim Cook, and the utmost respect from me for acknowledging this incident and sending out a clear message that what that employee said in no way represents Apple's values.

However there is one part that does bug me, the part where Tim mentions Apple Stores benefitting the community around them. I'm pretty sure Apple is just one of many corporate giants who continually avoid paying proper taxes in the countries in which they do their business - taxes which go on to benefit the people of that country. Apple should be at the forefront of what is right and ensure they are paying all correct taxes, in their full amount and declared in the right country. It's not a lot to ask from a company who basically have all the money in the world. Apple have the power to set a good example and set off a chain reaction.

They are following the laws our country setup. If our tax laws are harsh, how can you blame them for not bringing the money back home? You should look at the tax system and point the finger there, not at the companies and blame them for choosing to business elsewhere because of our harsh tax system.

American actually. Likewise, considering the actual imperialist history of the UK. Lest we forget who displaced the natives of both Australia and American - iconically.

Unfortunately, importing in half of Pakistan isn’t going to make up for the past.

America wasn't the sole responsibility of the British, England, France, Spain and the Netherlands all colonised America

Not that your point has got anything to do with the thread at hand however.

Well apart from the fact he asked them to leave, because they might steal something..... and when asked "why might we steal something?" he decline to answer.

We all know his answer was "because you're black" but then thought better of it.

We also all know that he didn't say "because you're black." So who's being racist here? The Apple Store employee is actually in the position to sue Apple for slander, as well as demand an apology from Apple / Cook.

Indeed it was obvious, they’re teenagers who were probably loitering in the store. The actual racism is the baseless assumption that because they are black and the manger is white, he must have been racist.

Have you got anything to suggest that they were loitering in the store?

Seriously, get off that high horse of yours. You honestly think that skin colour had anything to do with this? I've seen tons of white kids removed from stores in my lifetime and thats around Europe and US. Most of the times its kids just hogging the display units be it computers or consoles or what not. Then there are the older groups of kids with backpacks who gather around each other blocking the view from store clerks in effort to steal something. Apparently this is very popular tactic.

I believe there was profiling in place with this, plain and simple. The management had the opportunity to state why they were being kicked out, only to give a reply of "They suspect you're going to steal." They said nothing about hogging data, being rowdy, or anything else you're drawing up. I'm only stating what was in the video. If they would have said hey you all were being rowdy, playing music to the level of disruption of the business, or "hogging up data" though I don't understand how that can really happen unless they were being overtly apparent to that fact then I'd be right along with you and say yes they should have been kicked out they try another day when they learn some respect. But that simply wasn't the case.

Add Leeds to the list. We call them chavs over here.

That's the problem with the UK. They think that chavs are the same as the ghetto filth in The States. Sorry, the situation in the UK is class-based, the other is a completely different ball game.

If he's in that position, then I guess we'll have to wait and see if he does.

My guess he won't, for the same reason he wouldn't tell the kids why he wanted them to leave.

Would you please define what you mean by "ghetto filth"

I would but I would be banned from MacRumors for the umpteenth time. I'm not sure why you're trying to call me out on something so obvious.

Who said anything about "ghetto filth"? They are all merely teen chavs hanging around showing off to friends at the Apple Store. Time to get off your high horse and dismissing everyone else is wrong and you are right.

As is equal rights for the LGBT community, apparently.

When a subject gets tagged like that, the discussion is limited to those with over a 100 posts or something like that. It's probably a good idea.

What do you think the discussion would look like if people could create throwaway new accounts and "contribute" to the discussion.

Maybe this is a good thing.

Time for you to "get off your high horse and dismissing everyone else is wrong and you are right." Anyway, you obviously haven't been reading my posts. I said that chavs are not "ghetto filth".

Likewise. Do you have any proof that he actually profiled them, solely because of their ethnicity? The onus is not on him, it’s on those who made the assumption to prove it true.

What are you on about. I said no one mentioned "Ghetto filth" besides you. You are the one suggesting what people should be thinking.

I am saying that these are just teen chavs hanging around (regardless of race). But you are suggesting everyone should follow what you are thinking.

You disgust me with your "ghetto filth" comments.

Am I the only one who hates going to Apple stores for the mere fact that there are 200 kids with no money loitering in there?

Not saying these kids specifically were in there not intending to buy anything but I wish Apple had a policy to get people out if they aren't going to buy something.

Yup, I wanted to buy something the other week. But walked out because of this.

Story? Where was the movement against the 9 year old assassinated. How about the 5 month old shot in Cleveland?
I'm only interested in explaining race, gender, sexuality, and equality issues on this site with people who can hold a discussion. Most can't and argue falsely with fallacies (evident from this post and many others) so I don't waste my time.

What's wrong with "suggesting what people should be thinking"? Every word does that. I see that your avatar shows you at Infinite Loop. So you are familiar with the Bay Area? Have you been to Oakland? That's where I grew up. Unfortunately, I wasn't privileged like you seem to be. Perhaps your life has been a tad sheltered. So before you call others "rayciss" - as you have implied I am - you might voyage into less privileged locales around the world and come back with a fresh take on things, rather than spouting champagne socialist clap trap.

Who gives a toss where you are from? I don't really care because you're a cry baby and if people don't agree you throw your toys out of the pram and make personal digs at people.

You don't know my background either. I was brought up one of the poorest areas in the UK, but hey, I don't use it as an excuse unlike some.
