First, Apple should stop creating content and just provide it. Second, "Cook showed up at Trump Tower in December to kiss the ring." sounds like a very very bad episode of Game of Thrones. Yuk!

Game of Phones.

"As consumers reject the new MacBook Pro and Apple arrives late to the game with HomePod..."

I enjoy using my new 2017 MacBook Pro. For hours, every day. It's an excellent laptop.

Except the keyboard is horrible, and the touchbar is completely useless for touch typers (looking away from the screen slows me down). That's a reason why the Air sells so well, folks who don't want a keyboard that feels like your fingers are smashing into concrete slab every stroke.

The HomePod isn’t an Echo wannabe. It’s a hifi speaker that also has a smart assistant. Sonos should be worried.
HomePod is a smart speaker with better sound, it's an Echo competitor. Although Echo shouldn't be worried due to HomePod price.

These lists are so stupid. Does anyone care about them besides DC and Silicon Valley?

The two most flamboyant men within Apple drops and rises on Vanity Fair's list of 'nothing new to see here'-list

How dare they - propeller hands activated

I'm in a sea of emotions!!!!!

HomePod is a Crowning Achievement for Eddie Cue, and a Rare Display of Mortality for Tim?

I have a feeling that, with so many people to dish, Vanity Fair wasn't looking too closely for contradictory opinions among the writers who produced this thing.

Is there truly meaning in the year-to-year changes to the rankings? Seems more like a case of the self-appointed cool kids passing a list around during homeroom.

Nope. It's the best keyboard I've used from Apple (going back to the 1980s). After a short period of getting used to it, an hour or so, my typing speed and accuracy have markedly increased. Especially coming from my previously used MBA.

If your standard is an old IBM 3270 terminal from the 1970's there will likely be disagreement.

How long have you been using your 2017 MBP?

Agree. And such an awful writing style, too.

The thing is that Apple could easily make the MBP more universally accepted but chose to make a fashion accessory instead. The middling GPU, soldered SSD, and lack of MagSafe would seem to me the things most unacceptable. The homogenous USB-c ports might be ok in the future but should have considered the present and included at least some conventional ports. The glued in battery is also unwise but I doubt most customers care until they have to pay for replacement. What Apple has made is a disposable product that isn't priced like a disposable product. It seems like that is Apple's plan to increase revenue. Shareholders must love it but it is bad for the long term. Time Cook is more businessman than visionary.

I miss Cue's recommendation for the memorable
Silicon Valley Honour for record Bubble Gum consumption, 2017.
(not just for consumption, but also for his composure with his hands on the waist that characterizes the man)

Man every time Eddy Cue is forgotten from all the hate on MR, we get a reminder of how he's unlikable. I feel bad for the guy to be honest even though I pick up the pitchfork too against him :D

I don't think interest in the iPhone is waning, but our patience for innovation certainly is. The iPhone still is a modern marvel of engineering and quality (IMO), but some of the "features" being touted are nothing more than expensive gimmicks. People who spend $1K for a phone likely don't care about animated emojis or glass-backed enclosures. Accurate color representation, screen resolution, and damage resistance are, arguably, the most important. In my opinion, Apple should back out of the "me-too" devices (HomePod, Apple TV) and ditch the ridiculous programming and refocus on their core products.

Tim is a great spokesperson but a middle of the road leader.

People are getting tired of hearing "Jobs would never allow..." but it is true.

Tim, what if we put a bump on the back of the case for the battery?

Sound great! How is the family?

Eddie Cue should have been fired years ago, I have no idea what he is still doing there.
Everything he touches, everyone he hires is a disaster.

Does Tim actually know anything about product or tech? seems like a supply guy that got lucky.....

No, and that's the problem. Tim does have charisma and an admirable personality, but he's not a visionary like Jobs. Steve thought well into the future and had an amazing - almost psychic - ability to predict market responses by keeping things simple and elegant. Cook seems like a best friend who got lucky.

Who is this “our” you speak about. I’m sure some people fit that profile and others, like me, don’t think the same way as you. I’d argue people who spend $1,000 on a phone animojis are the type of simple application, not available on other platforms that show off the products strengths.

Vanity Fair. Please stick to vapid entertainment subjects and flogging overpriced clothing. Tech knowledge is not your strong suit.

Tech knowledge isn't timmy's strong suit either. He's good at bean counting virtue signaling slowing innovation and hiking prices overnight.

...So it's a match made in heaven!

I'm eagerly waiting for Cosmopolitan's review on the current state of the tech and communication industries to guide my personal opinions.

Eddy Cue's influence at Apple is great and vast. When Cook and Eddy were peers when Steve was still alive then Eddy's opinion was a greatest influencer on Steve's direction. Eddy was not a yes man which is why he had the trust of Steve.
