With respect to Beats, pay careful attention to the order in which he describes the reasons for purchasing them. If you still think this is about headphones, you're not listening.

True, but with out the profitable headphone business there's no way Apple could have paid $3B for the subscription service. I'm very interested in what they do in this space. It has to be about more than subscription music.

Whoa .... Where's that quote from?!? One of the clips? If so, which one?

Apple Insider.

Interview

Most of you numbn**s couldn't hold a candle to whats happening at Apple. So you would rather disparage then use what intelligence you might have to do some good

Tim is definitely stepping into his roll much better now. He isn't a chore to listen to, and has passion when he says things.

so cool witnessing this bashing on the same day that Apple sets a new iPhone record.

I wasn't aware that sales automatically equates to having the best product. It just makes it popular.

Lest we go down the poor analogy road - McDonalds sells record breaking # of hamburgers. That doesn't make their meat better ;)

But seriously - Apple still makes great products. Like all members of the industry, they have things that exceed others and some things that don't. It's great that consumers like us don't have to rely on what just one company produces and can choose.

I find it so beautiful that Jobs' office still sits the way he left it and quite right too. It would feel totally wrong to clear out his office or remove his name tag. With that said though, they're moving offices soon and Jobs' office should not be forgotten. They should have it removed and reconstructed in a museum somewhere. With all his files and everything. Just a piece of history that can forever remain constant.

Is the entire interview available anywhere online?

PS: Recently, Tim's stage and TV performances have improved dramatically. His stiffness is gone. His tempo is up. And his energy, passion, humor and even a bit of warmth is shining through. Great stuff, Tim!

Cook was very enthusiastic about the stuff they announced. This was one of his better keynotes. He seemed much more natural and his cadence was much better. No long pauses and whisper tones. So far this year everyone that's presented on stage has been really good. So much better than the iPad keynote last year.

I thought the first clip was the best. They practically have a memorial to Steve with his office left as is. I hope it stays that way for decades.

My thoughts exactly. But aren't they moving to their new spaceship centre in the future? Jobs' office has got to stay constant. They should have it removed and reconstructed at a museum or something. Or moved to a memorial part of the new building with other milestones from Apple's past.

----------

Yeah an Windows is the best operating system because they have well over 90% market share.

Who pays for Windows?

Probably silly for a grown man to say, but I nearly teared up when he spoke of Steve's office still there untouched, etc.

:apple:

The thing about Steve's office was the best part.

As for his speaking style. I certainly prefer him to Schiller, and Federighi, and while Jony Ive is great, the Wizard won't step out from behind the curtain except to do those grandiose talking in the abstract product videos, and that is fine, because that doesn't have any place in a keynote. Craig may be better than Tim, but Phil is the worst.

Sometimes I think android fans on the descendants of windows fans. They only look at spec sheets and not the entire overall experience

I've become a HUGE fan of Tim. I think he's amazing. Very difficult to fill the shoes of a legend, but he's doing about as well as anyone in the world could have expected.

----------

I just listened to the second video.

"TV is stuck in the 70's" - Tim Cook

Bank on that rumored Apple TV in the next 1-2 years. They're definitely working hard on it or he wouldn't be making such "keynote like" statements.

:apple:

Gotta love his laughter on the second video when talking about the TV, he's like "I know that you know that everyone knows that we're working on a TV" :D

Say what you want but I think the man is an amazing CEO and a great guy.

His wording on Beats is very interesting. He's impressed with the idea behind the streaming service, the talent, and the growth they achieved. He said nothing about the products themselves. :roll eyes:

Edit: Which is actually encouraging. If he said "Beats makes the best headphones in the world," we probably wouldn't have much to look forward to. I think they'll improve the headphones in the future.

Because Apple didn't buy them for their products. Everyone knows that

Anyone know when this will be broadcast on Bloomberg TV in the UK?
Every episode I've looked at on the Sky electronic programme guide shows the same generic info, with no details on who is appearing on each edition of the show…
Guess I'll have to Sky+ all the episodes!

I am not sure if it will air on Sky at all, best keep your eyes on YouTube for the full edition early next week.

So what are we going to talk about once Apple finally releases their long-rumored TV set? Probably most people will talk about how Apple is doomed or something dumb.
