No one’s said anything about usefulness and one could apply that same example to all of Hollywood. It’s the entertainment industry, they’re not freaking doctors.

This is about attacking an individual based on their views and attitude towards something. If you don’t like iJustine then great! Don’t subscribe to her content. But don’t come on here attacking a woman because you have some underlying, untreated issue and just feel the need to project hate towards something.

"But don’t come on here attacking a woman because you have some underlying, untreated issue and just feel the need to project hate towards something."

Spot-on. And the essence of what's happening in the comments here.

Perfectionism? You must be referring to a different Apple. This term certainly does not reflect the current Apple run by Cook.
Even with bugs and flaws this company is still much more polished than its competitors. Otherwise they would not be where they are.

But … I get what you are saying. But I also seem to remember some articles which highlighted that Apple was a more “livable” place for employees under Cook. That the deadline pressure from Jobs was lightened, which may then lead to these flaws if you keep the annual schedule up.

On the other hand, the Jobs area has their flaws too

Wouldn't be surprised if iJ was a creation of Apple or at least bankrolled. Noone can get that over excited over often bland products and there is no bite or criticism, even when warranted. Not a fan.
I saw a YouTube video of her unboxing one of the current Mac Pros, along with not one, but two XDR displays with the $999 mounts. She was gushing over them. When she put the display onto the stands and they connected magnetically, she was all like "OMG! I don't care what others say, you are so worth the $1,000!" Considering how in later videos, she still has all of that, either she has a lot of money or she's bankrolled by Apple. Considering she's been doing these podcasts for over a decade now, has over a million followers, I wouldn't be surprised that much.

I believe a tech reviewer should be able to perform critical appraisal of a company and product, both positive and negative.

She however is basically an extension of Apple's marketing team. The only thing critical she will ever likely say in regards to Apple is that there aren't enough words in a dictionary for her to be able to describe how awesome they and their products are.

What she does is obviously the only way she will get such "interviews", but by watching her stuff people are basically watching a 15 minute commercial.

Spot on, right.

It's actually disgusting to seer the vomit inducing consumerism and overjoy of such a ordinary appliance like a cell phone release.

How bout ask Mr. Cook, so why no AoD ( Always on Display )? Where's the matte black color iPhone? Why after 15 years can't we place an app icon anywhere on the homerscreen we want?

Instead she'll be like, OH MY GOSH LOOK AT THIS NEW LIGHT BLUE COLOR IPHONE 13, WOW, OH BOY IT'S AMAZING.

Nothing more toe curling than a poor interview which is nothing more than a PR piece. Go speak to someone like Jon Prosser who instead of pandering to your heavily scripted and directed cues will ask you hard hitting questions the Apple community want answered.

Can an American please explain what it is with these bland outfits. Basic t-shirts, basic jeans, basic trainers, basic crewnecks... They all look like Uniqlo mannequins.

Is it just me noticing or Tim's hands are shaking uncontrolably? Not exactly the camera shy or nervous type...
If there was anything wrong with his hands shaking we would have seen it during his presentation. His hands were front and center for the time he was speaking. Just like normal,

This thread seems full of Justine fanboys
Yup, I’m a fan and there’s nothing wrong with that! If MKBHD had done this interview and people were attacking him I would have commented as well.

The issue here is that people think it’s ok to hate or discredit someone’s efforts when in fact they don’t even know that person.. All based on their attitude/persona on camera. Clearly she’s done something right, otherwise she wouldn’t have a combined 10 million following right?

He does not need to reveal anything, but share his view about the future of technology and where Apple goes. From the iPhone announcement one can think that we are all movie directors spending our day taking videos and photos.

I wouldn't think we are all that.

I do believe there are many people out there, probably younger rather than older, who still have an un-calcified/stifled imagination, sense of wonderment, inspiration, and drive, who will be inspired and derive some joy making amateur movies using an iPhone.

And maybe a couple of those will someday become a Brian De Palma or Martin Scorsese making more serious films.

I do want to say I don’t hate anyone. My problem is this dog and pony show. That’s all they are putting on. No useful info.

Why let other people who are having a good time, likely making a ton of money, doing something they love to do, get you wound up?

I admire anyone who puts in the hard work and long hours, takes risks, and creates a product/service that millions of people enjoy. She deserves the success that she earned.

You could do exactly the same thing, putting on your own spin/requirements, telling your own story in the manner you see fit. But be prepared for the long hours and hard work.

It’s all good my dude! Others here unfortunately do feel the need to hate on creators and it’s usually iJustine. But like I said earlier, those are their untreated mommy/daddy issues. I just hope people learn to think before projecting hate.

I just don’t know what people expect out of an Apple event anymore.. not to mention out of an interview that probably has had all the questions filtered and approved weeks in advance.

We’re dealing with Apple here, not Tesla. It’s all very predictable now.

Everything has become so bland and generic and I think it’s all just due to lack of innovation in the technological space (on Apple’s side). I think that even if they had announced a notchless phone people would have complained about how it’s still not a folding phone or whatever.

Hopefully they release something more interesting in the future, who knows that they have in their roadmap.

LOL :) I just don't like iShills acting as unbiased "interviewers". And I don't like Tim Cook spreading lies like "Cinema Mode equals to pro-level equipment" like in these "interviews" either.

If I had a tech channel on YouTube with 6 million followers making me over 70k USD a month I’d probably be an “iShill” too.

What would you do if Apple said “you can do this interview but you have to agree to these questions and appear excited to keep the hype going?”

You’d decline it right? No, I didn’t think so.

Luckily we all have the power of choice. We can choose to subscribe to iJustine or not and we can choose to stay with Apple or not.

But there’s certainly no room for hate and there’s no room for undermining someone else’s work based on their on camera persona.

(…) improved performance thanks to the A15 Bionic (…)
Am I the only to find peculiar that this year Apple compared the performance of the A15 only to the competition, not to the A14? I suspect that, this year, the performance improvements are more modest than the previous years. Not that it is really serious per se (the iPhone is plenty fast and powerful already), but still. 😊

there was something really odd about this "interview"

there's no pause or slowing down between questions and answers, as if they were reading from scripts..... or not even actually talking to each other.... seemed to be edited to make it look like an interview.(like how they used to do it on network TV news)

iJustine is a well-known Apple shi------- err personality for their products on her YT Channel. Tim knew going in that this was a feel-good 'interview'... which is why it was granted to Justine. No hard-hitting questions were expected or received.
