Apple Campus 2, the company's second "spaceship" campus that's under development in Cupertino.
Rumor is even Apple is waiting for the Skylake MBP.
Just look at that pipeline, stop me if your heard this one before.
What about the nation making the products and the people building them.
Following Apple's first quarter earnings report, Apple executives hosted a Town Hall meeting with Apple employees to answer questions and to divulge a few details about the company's future plans. 9to5Mac has shared highlights of what was covered at the event. While much of what was said was reiterating information that was shared during the earnings call, there are a few tidbits worth noting.![]()
When it comes to the iPhone and the rumor that Apple has perhaps reached "peak iPhone," Cook said the device is the "greatest business of the future" with growth potential in key emerging markets like India and China. He said Apple does not need to launch a less expensive device with pared-down features to entice buyers in these markets, as research suggests people will spend more for a better experience. These comments relate directly to the upcoming "iPhone 5se," which some rumors have suggested will be positioned as a less powerful, lower-end device, though not a cheap one by general smartphone standards.
On the Apple TV and tvOS, Cook said the two products point towards a "bright" future for Apple, but he didn't mention how Apple might expand its presence in the living room going forward. tvOS is Apple's way of giving content providers the tools to offer streaming television solutions to customers after having failed to launch its own streaming service due to difficulties with negotiations. The most recent TV-related rumors suggest Apple is exploring the possibility of original content, following in the footsteps of Netflix and Amazon.
Cook also reportedly expressed excitement over future products coming from the company's software, services, and hardware divisions. In the next few months, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5se, the iPad Air 3, new bands for the Apple Watch, and perhaps new Retina MacBooks and Retina MacBook Pros. Later in the year, Apple is also expected to introduce the highly-anticipated iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
He also teased "far off" hardware products coming beyond 2016, perhaps hinting at the company's work on the Apple Car or its exploration of virtual and augmented reality. Recent rumors suggest Apple is prototyping virtual reality headsets similar to the Oculus Rift.
The last bit of interesting information was on Apple Campus 2, the company's second "spaceship" campus that's under development in Cupertino. Construction appears to be on track to be finished at the end of 2016, as Cook says the first employees will move into the campus by the end of January 2017. He also said the new underground auditorium will allow Apple to hold events on its grounds instead of at venues in San Francisco and other parts of the Bay Area.
The meeting also included more mundane information on upcoming time-off benefits for Apple employees, flagging iPad sales, new solutions for retaining employee talent, and Apple's supply chain, which can be read at 9to5Mac.

Mac pro? Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that thing....EXCEPT FOR EVERY TIME I HAVE TO RENDER A 4K FILE IN DAVINCI RESOLVE WHICH WAS THREE TIMES TODAY!!!! C'mon APPLE!
Did anyone mention the Mac Pro?
Why would Tim cook specifically mention the MacPro? That makes no sense. He also did not mention MacBooks, MacBook Pros, Mac Mini, iMacs, or Watch.
Oh noes, Apple is DOOMED!
18 billion dollars profit in 3 months. Enjoy your 5400RPM hard drive.
One could be forgiven for thinking the Mac Pro's unfortunate sobriquet is prophetic. Trash can.
Yeah, he mentioned the important stuff instead.
Like office buildings, watch bands, TV hobbies,
gender neutral employee bathrooms
and far off stuff like VR that will be 10 years
behind everybody else when and if it finally shows up.
Oh noes, indeed.
Okay, well I'll just mark your response as ambiguous dislike for something with not much to back it up.
I have had an ATV1, and ATV2 and ATV3 and now the ATV4, and anyone who says that the ATV4 doesn't have anything compelling enough to make it an upgrade over the ATV3 is just kidding themselves.
First of all, there are plenty of good apps available. Hell, just the inclusion of Plex makes it amazing. Amazon Prime is on its way soon. And the advent of the App Store means that more great apps will come when developers finish and submit them, instead of when some big name negotiates a deal with Apple.
Not sure what you mean about the remote being disappointing, but I find the remote to be one of the best things about the product. It could use a little refinement to make it better to use in the dark. But the ability to search and navigate content by voice is such an upgrade over the ATV3 as to make your comment laughable, IMO.
It does a ton more than the ATV3. That's a ridiculous statement. Voice searching and navigation. Developer based app store. Apple music voice control, among others. Just the fact
And you may not find the games interesting or compelling, but a lot of people do and will. I've never been a gamer myself, and would never dream of buying a PS4, Nintendo or any other game console. But for the casual gamer the ATV is a great source for a short distraction of a game.
Would I cry if it had 4K? No. But I'm not crying because it doesn't either. People complaining about not having 4K now is pretty much like when they were complaining about 1080p missing 8 years ago. Not only is there a minuscule amount of 4K content out there, but most TVs that people buy don't even give them the benefits of the 4K technology at the distance that they watch their TVs from. There's also some reasonable speculation out there that the hardware in the ATV4 will support 4K, and it could just be a matter of a firmware upgrade that Apple wasn't ready to push at release.
Not sure we bought the same device. They delivered everything they said they were delivering when they introduced it. Out of the box it was a major upgrade to my ATV3, and the way it and the new ecosystem were designed it will only get better as time goes on. Essentially they just turned the ATV into the iPhone, by bringing millions of developers to the table.
Tim Cook is smiling and is happy.
His /Apple's plan worked out.
Give very low quidance for q2. Let share prices drop on purpose.
And then do the share buyback, you already promised, and do it BIG!
After the real and positive results of q2, shares will go up again.
Just kidding, but would it be possible to manipulate share prices this way if you are planning a share buyback?
>>> "Just kidding, but would it be possible to manipulate share prices this way if you are planning a share buyback?"
That might be possible. He could also just announce, as an extreme, Apple is DOOMED™ which would have the same effect. In both cases that would likely be an illegal market manipulation.
Do you mean as opposed to most of the responses in these threads? Even less than a lot of nothing. And Tim Cook has more intelligence, compassion, and understanding in his little finger than most of the participants on this forum have in their entire body.
right because that's what CEOs do at employee town halls.Did Tim Cook mentioned how bad the Apple services lately. The Apple Music, iTunes and AppStore and a never ending bugs on OS X and iOS. I guess this is his definition of exciting because the media he loves talks about it.![]()
You're correct. Because I disagree. What, exactly did you expect?
The point is that because of the iPhone, Watch and iPad the Mac lineup doesn't get nearly the attention it needs.
I agree.Nope, not from me.
ATV4 is not worth it unless they are holding back with the tvOS.
In a year give us an updated Apple TV with an a10x soc, 4K and a Apple gamecontroller.I agree.
I purchase the ATV4, only to find it was one of those devices that you forget about after a week. I honestly got it in hopes of them giving all owners exclusive access to Apple Originals, or maybe even their own "Direct TV" or "Dish", etc.
