Tim Cook Teases an 'Apple Launch' Next Wednesday

With the rumored iPhone SE specs- A18 etc....for regular/olds I'm not sure what would even be the point of getting an iPhone 16? Even if it comes with 64gb, the current SE can be upgraded to 128gb for $50 I think still at only $479.

single camera instead of dual, so maybe no spatial vids. But Apple's "magic" with cameras or software processing is making their lesser cameras be about as good as their best in most situations , not necessarily making their best cameras the best cameras in the world

For older people who are on a phone that's super old, grabbing the SE for similar pricing as current seems like a screaming deal.

The iPhone Pro has 3 cameras for flexibility. No amount of software is going to make a single camera perform anywhere as well.

I'm not saying you're wrong. I get a new iPhone Pro variant literally every single year, usually driven by the camera (stupid bc there are so little changes) I mostly meant making the regular iPhone look about as good as the Pro in most situations and making the single cameras punch way above their price. Keep in mind I'm talking for people who would buy an iPhone SE, not people posting on an Apple website, buying a Pro iPhone every year etc etc. New SE is rumored to have a 48mp sensor for the main camera so my point was it'll probably be a great camera for that audience/old people. Obviously not comparing low light or peak capabilities.

But when you see the camera shootouts, in a lot of shots the regular iPhone can/has looked about as good as the Pro versions. Which makes sense because they usually use last year's pro hardware on the current regular iPhone. Apple seems to put all their software focus on making the lesser cameras work as good as possible. The Pro versions don't need much processing and most people are of the opinion the processing that is done on the Pro phones makes the photos look worse, not better. Certainly the processing they do on people's faces from afar is pretty bad.

I think Tyler Stalman on YT (pro photographer) is who I've seen show this the most on his iPhone camera reviews. Maybe some from Marques too.
 
My guess is come kind of update/change to Vision Pro. Why? Because until recently Vision Pro was excluded from the military discount. Now you get the 10% off those as well.

I would suspect something at 9am Eastern (~5 minutes), or alternatively 8am Pacific (~2 hours)

Edit: well obviously it wasn't at 9am EST.

I dunno… when they did the “Week of Mac” it was also a bunch of shorter videos.

The store hasn’t gone down yet either. I’m betting on a 10 AM Pacific time release (7 pm CET).
 
I can't decide if this is going to be "wow -- very cool and pleasant true surprise!"

Like so many things now, it'll just be a totally over hyped release of a new budget phone

Remember - the rumors are saying that the newest feature in this phone will be the inclusion of the Apple's custom designed cellular modem chip.

Everything else are existing parts from other phones and devices that they have released in the past.

Good point 😕

The top line feature (Apple modem) is a feature for Apple's bottom line, not the customers
