This is a longshot that I don't actually think is it, but wasn't there also a rumor about a Vision Pro briefing for the press tomorrow? Maybe it's a price drop/ some tweaks like a new chip for AVP? Although that would have made more sense for the first anniversary of the product - but that would also track with the "Apple isn't manufacturing AVP anymore" rumor if they'd switched to a AVP 2.

As much as I would like this, they haven't had enough time to do much with the AVP but tweaks (like a new m5 processor), and I doubt they would be teasing out tweaks or even a price break or anything minor (to the scheme of things) as that. Shrugs. They have been slowly and quietly expanding their satellite service in the background, used to be emergency only, now it's essentially any text message, and given the recent announcement of TMobile and Musk (which, TMobile just isn't that exciting), I agree with the guesses that its extended satellite service.

A new member of the family to me means it has to be a brand new product category. Members of the Apple family are iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, etc,. You wouldn’t call a little bump up to the iPhone 4 SE a 'new family member'. Hmm, or maybe you would, a little brother or sister. 😆 In that case, I hope it is a MacBook 11 or 12 inch!! I would place an order day one. I do think the gif looks like either a single camera lens (iPhone 4SE) with a really nice OLED screen or something. I would consider trading my iPhone 11 for it.
If it is something totally new, then maybe their Apple hub.
I’m excited, and I probably shouldn’t be.

Interesting that it was reposted by Elon. 🤔

This could indicate Starlink and perhaps Globalstar support in Apple's new 5G modem. However, it could alternatively indicate that Apple has ended its advertising boycott on X. The hashtag Tim Cook used generates an image, which is a feature of X's ad platform that Apple has used in the past. This is long overdue as X likely has the largest audience of Apple and AI/tech enthusiasts on the Internet. Apple should also advertise on MacRumors and Reddit (maybe it does on Reddit?).

Do you even listen to yourself? What's so exciting about a laptop, from any manufacturer? The Apple ecosystem is top notch. Premium hardware and integrated software across all devices. It's beautiful, and it works. I don't want clown devices that give clown service. I want functional products that are smart and reliable for what I need and want them to do. Apple nails it for me.

As far as spending, you don't have to spend if you can learn not to be so discontent. You do realize all advertising is geared to make you discontent and to want "the latest and greatest" which, when you look at it objectively, isn't that big of an upgrade. Especially Apple products, which last an incredibly long time ... just go with them. At my work we have 2017 iMacs for presentation and streaming. Eight years and many software updates later they function great and we have no timeline for future replacement.
I know what marketing is for. The lack of excitement is because the lack of innovation, ergonomic features that sometimes go in reverse.

The inclined MacBooks are so much more comfortable to use than the newer MacBooks. Likewise the keyboards are less comfortable to use compared to older versions and especially those made by IBM/Lenovo.

This is the reason I’ve switched to a surface laptop go for most tasks. It has USB A and USB C ports, it is more compact (yeah I know it’s a smaller screen but I loved the size of the 12 inch MacBooks). Its keyboard is way more comfortable for me to use. And its quality is on par with apples products. I can even buy spare components (battery etc) from Microsoft.

Laptops and PCs etc can still be exciting products. There is an argument don’t fix it if it isn’t broke , but Apple introduce and then pull 12 inch models. They ditched the smaller MacBook Airs and now most models are pretty big and clunky.

There are fewer options for people. I mean real options like vastly different screen sizes, form factors. Most Macs are positioned for the upsell for the standard consumer.

I only spend when I need to, when I want to. I’ve only bought two Apple Watch. Only bought 2 iPad's since 2016.

You forgot about their butterfly keyboard glitch 😜

are people that buy the SE even big Apple fanboys? Doubt they even pay attention to this sort of thing. Quit teasing me Tim and drop that homebot damnit.
Absolutely. I pay attention to this sort of thing religiously, but I don’t need a premium phone. I have my iPad and iMac to bridge the gap (and a host of other Apple products).
I haven’t bought an SE in a very long time, but with rumored Face ID and Apple Intelligence I’m finally good with upgrading my 13 mini, which long overdue.
I also prefer a smaller form factor.

It looks a little bit like the shape of the underside of Mac mini, but the corners of the min are more rounded.

Also, the warped reflection of the image almost looks like a camera aperture (bottom left) and flash (top right).
That’s what I was thinking bottom of a Mac mini, maybe it’s the fabled new HomePod?

"the newest member of the family"

That's interesting. It's sounds like a "one more thing" product.
