how is iphone SE 4 i.e. copy of iphone 14 a “launch” and not just a minor update?

The same way the original iPhone SE (which was based on the iPhone 5S) was a launch and the second and third generations of the iPhone SE (which were both based on the iPhone 8) were launches.

I wouldn't call the iPhone SE 4 simply a "copy" of the iPhone 14 as it is expected to have the current/more powerful A18 processor, increased RAM, higher resolution main camera, Apple-designed 5G modem, Apple Intelligence support, and more.

I thought it might have something to do with starlink given the hashtag containing LAUNCH. And since it looks like an airtag, I wonder if Airtags are getting starlink connectivity.

Could be, but that would be pretty underwhelming for most Apple users. It’s just a processor, after all. I doubt Tim would tease something like that for the general public.

"Get ready to meet the newest member of the family," he said, with an #AppleLaunch hashtag.

The post includes a short video with an animated Apple logo inside a circle.

Cook did not provide an exact time for the launch, or share any other specific details, so his post is a bit of a mystery. However, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman believes the post is a teaser for Apple announcing a new iPhone SE. He previously said the device would be unveiled by next week, with rumored features including an A18 chip, a larger 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, a USB-C port, Apple Intelligence support, and more.

I believe the Apple Watch was and at least variations of AirPods (Pro, Max) if not also the original. Not sure about AirTag.
