apple has no ingenious product in the pipeline? self-drive EV? no way. Apple pretty much gave up car. What they should do is partner with Tesla.
[doublepost=1551525610][/doublepost]the best Apple can come up is new color.

Liar. All he's ever done since being the CEO is raise prices. In fact, Apple's product line has gotten worse.
......... the product line is exactly the same as when he took over, add in airpods and Apple Watch, hes been doing a great job. He would not be ceo if he wasn’t doing a good job

I don’t think I’m conflating anything. OP said “I don’t know why Jobs picked Cook, I think Phil Schiller was a better candidate.” My point was Jobs knew Cook since 1998 (and as you mention Schiller since at least 1997), and Jobs thought Cook should be the next CEO. The board agreed.

Why OP would think his own judgment is somehow sufficiently informed to credibly contradict the opinion of Jobs is unknown. It seems to me Jobs was in a better position to know what would be best for Apple, rather than some random person on the internet who’s never even met any of them.

If OP had given some arguments to back up his opinion, I might be persuaded Schiller would have been a better choice, but none were provided.

I think Schiller would be better, because he isn't Tim Cook. Is that enough reason for you?

Not really, do you think it is? Why would you assume Schiller could have done anywhere near as well as Cook has?

If you really think you’re in a better position to have chosen the next CEO than was Jobs, you have an unrealistic view of your abilities.

What I wonder is, how come no board members ever ask Tim Cook about Jonny Ive? There are many issues from Apple that seem to be engineering oversight in the name of design.
- iPhone 6 Plus bendgate.
- The butterfly keyboard reliability
- The new iPad Pro bendgate and lack of structural integrity

And for those asking about a new Mac Pro, maybe it's because Jonny Ive wants to put a desktop CPU and GPU into a tiny cube, and it's thermally impossible, and the engineers are just trying their hardest to meet the requirements of Sir Ive. Remember the G4 Cube?

Post a Tim Cook article and they said there were a lot of fanboys on here. Lol. It seems like a lot of people are disappointed in Apple raising prices and not matching the likings of their competitors.

I’m seriously over Apple ridiculous prices!

I sometimes wonder if Jobs didn't deliberately pick someone with little vision, knowing that it would increase his own reputation and legacy.

The last thing an egotist like Jobs would want, is to put someone in charge who had more vision than he did.

The future products Tim is talking about are more subscription services.

If making high profits is the only measure of success then Tim Cook has done well. But there is more to Apple than that and this is where Tim Cook falls way short, so much that he is the wrong type of CEO for Apple. Tim Cook does make a good caretaker CEO though.

I will just comment on the Services side of things, with Apple, one area that has been neglected that actually is growing substantially, is their services margin. And I think Cook should really be praised for that specific area, especially as you said, with subscriptions, Apple Pay, the App Store has grown exponentially, Apple Music, etc. That’s really an underlying promise for Apple that has been on the rise now for years under Cooks leadership, and services should be continue to be highlighted moving forward with Apple, because that’s where the loyalty is with the user.

Time is running out for you. Your hackintosh cannot be upgraded to Mojave since it has no Nvidia support, T2-security ships and ARM CPUs coming dealing the final death blow.

Why not migrate completely to Windows right now?

He’s so detached from reality it’s painful...

And people like you are so detached from the reality of investors.
Investors don't care about the Mac, or replaceable hardware, or CUDA support. They care more about Apple's service revenue than the entire Mac line.

You are correct about the above product, but I disagree on one point.
The margin of Airpods and the Watch is way lower than the iPhone or Mac lineup.
Also, the Watch has way better entry-level prices that makes it successful but not high-revenue.

He's been saying that since 2011. We've seen a watch. And a speaker that can't connect to anything. Bigger iPhones, smaller iPhones, bigger iPads, smaller iPads. All from a genius CEO who doesn't even know what a computer is.

For 7 years we've been hearing about all the amazing products in his pipeline. Where are the products, Timmy.

When you are a shareholder, amazing products means products which produces a lot of revenue and profit.

iPhones, iPads, Macs, AirPods + services like App Store, Apple Music, iCloud Storage has provided great revenue and profit which makes them great products.

The people doing the complaining aren’t Apple haters, they are Apple lovers frustrated Apple doesn’t pay any attention to them anymore. They are battered wives stuck in an abusive relationship. They still love Apple, and don’t really want to leave.

All they really want is an updated mac range whenever intel puts out a new chip, priced a little more sensibly.

The scary thing is that it is true. Well, if they are battered wifes, they should file for divorce. And seek professional help.
So many of the people have really psychological issues with Apple including abandonment issues.

I could not disagree more. This place is a mix of die hard Apple fans who are so ingrained in the cult that they embarrass themselves with often idiotic statements and those of us that have bled Apple for decades and are troubled by what it has become.

You see haters. I see people that want to think different

This is coming from someone that was Apple through and through until Microsoft of all companies released tech that I couldn’t live without.

Those people seems to be stuck in the past, and did not catch that Steve Jobs himself anointed the iPad as the future of computing (post-PC) and relegated the Macs to trucks.

Tim followed up with, "We've run out of space to hold the additional engineers that we need to hire to work on our advanced Memoji and animated emoji projects. I am certain that every customer will upgrade to the latest iPhone just to have them. I mean, why wouldn't they?"

Hey, wait a minute. You may be on to something. Apple’s devices do seem to constantly be supporting new emoji...

Wind Emojis.

iPhone XsXs max Turbo Force Blower

You know, I think you may have hit on a pattern here. Every year Apple keeps giving us new emojis, and seemingly nothing else.

And it will come with 20 new emojis.

You know, you’re right! And I bet with all those engineers working on emojis, that’s why they haven’t given us a mid-tower modular mac yet!

will we be blown away from
new emojis,

This observation is a unique spark of genius, and also very witty.

Blow us away? Cool, we get new emojis (thumbs up)

Yeah, enough with the emojis already! It’s not as if it’s part of the Unicode standard or anything and every other manufacturer also supports them. Apple, where is the particular device that caters to my particular needs that I have been whining about on here for years despite every other consistent indication that Apple is tailoring its products to a completely different market?!

They need to reduce (or make) their entry laptop to sub $1000 maybe $899 to satisfy to satisfy users that just want to do basic stuff. The iPad although functionally might do the same stuff, isn't quite there to get user to abandon their laptops.
This is so true, I would imagine half the world only uses their laptops for movies and web surfing.

Blow me away with an iPad PRO that doesn't bend and doesn't have an unresponsive screen and I will buy it immediately.

I'm a huge Apple fan, my entire family relies on the Apple eco system and it's a shame that I cannot spend my budget for the new IPP because I'm not sure about its quality and reliability.

Go back to the basics, please: great, reliable and cool products that work!
