Lol, I hope it’s meant sarcastically

Lol, too true. Phil would be better than Eddie, but that’s not saying much. Tim was a solid choice!
My personal fave is Craig... he’s funny, has a self-deprecating sense of humor that’s endearing/charming, & is an an absolute tech expert. He’s not a “sales” guy; he’s a software/hardware guy that REALLY knows his stuff.
I’d absolutely love to see him ascend to CEO eventually.

Tim Cook renewed the promise to keep increasing the dividend. Typically, the new dividend rate is set by the board at a meeting in May. Tim did note that the dividend has almost doubled since it was first announced.
Probably April announcement, since next dividend (at hopefully increased value) will most likely be paid around April 19th.

Crook says he wants to lower the price, but Apple prices according to purchasing power, which means you pay a different price in different regions, as production costs in any region are always a lot lower.

The "cheapest" 128 gb ssd Macbook Air in Europe costs 1349 EUR, that is 1535 USD. In the US it goes for just 1200 USD, so Europeans are robbed 335 USD!

For 256 GB the price goes up to 1600 EUR or 1820 USD, instead of 1399 in the US, robbing Europeans for 420 USD.

That is plain bonkers and my next computer won't be a Mac. Also, Crook's pot is overcooking: so many people and former mac-lovers are turning into haters. People want a company you can trust, not madmen who play exchange rate trickery like a dodgy airport booth.

Apple held its annual investor's meeting at its Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, this morning, where Apple CEO Tim Cook shared some details on Apple's future product plans.

As outlined by Bloomberg, Cook said that Apple is "rolling the dice" on some future products that will "blow you away."

Cook went on to say that Apple's eventual goal is to be able reduce the price of the 2018 Retina MacBook Air, which currently starts at $1,200. In reference to the Apple Watch and the AirPods, Cook said there's a "long, great roadmap" of "fantastic" products on the horizon.

While Cook did not go into more detail, rumors have suggested that AirPods coming in the near future will be available in new colors (black) and will have new functionality including "Hey Siri" support and the ability to be wirelessly charged.

More ambitious products are also rumored to be in the works, including a pair of augmented reality smart glasses and perhaps even a full self-driving vehicle.

On the topic of services, Cook said Apple is well on its way towards meeting the goal it set in 2016, which was to double its $25 billion revenue by 2020. Later this month, Apple is expected to unveil two new products in the services category, including a new streaming TV service outfitted with original television shows and a new Apple News service with access to subscription news sites and magazines for a monthly fee.

Cook touched on other topics at the meeting as well, including Apple's political ideology. Shareholders soundly rejected a proposal that had suggested the ideology of board nominees should be disclosed in an effort to diversity the political opinions of Apple's board.

Cook also said that Apple is pushing for regulation against tech companies like Facebook and Google that build data profiles of their users. Cook first called for new U.S. privacy laws to protect citizens from data collection in October, but Apple has long been an advocate for customer privacy.

[doublepost=1551572390][/doublepost]It seems like they don’t have any ideas what that is anymore.

People don’t want health features. Those will not “blow you away”.

It’s like an add on that’s nice to have. Samsung’s new Galaxy S10 series is way better in almost every category.

Better storage options (faster, more etc) better screens. Better cameras, under screen fingerprint scanner and on and on.

What does Apple have ?

Notches and pricey

Tim “What’s in the Pipeline Is Amazing” Cook.

He was saying the same stuff back in 2012-2013 and all we got were the Apple Watch, HomePod, AirPods, and some incremental improvements to iOS products.

And how well have all of these products sold? I see more people with an Apple Watch and AirPods than any either smart watch/headphones.

[doublepost=1551580974][/doublepost]Yea. Please take my money. I have too much of it especially since I haven’t found a need to update my iPhone 8.

The X is a dud

Tim Cook has as much credibility as a bad used car salesman. If you watch his interviews it should be obvious. He says what is politically and financially expedient even if it is not even close to true.

If we're talking about past Apple products then I disagree. Apple was producing industry changing products that while not on the level of iPhone sales altered the course of the PC industry and put them on a path for a future full of innovation. Mac laptops had forward thinking design going back to the Power PC days. When they released the original Macbook Air it caught the whole PC industry off guard. There was nothing even remotely similar in terms of design and portability and it took years before even a close competitor showed up. OSx was king of stability and provided a clean mostly error free user experience that justified spending more money for. I keep watching Apple hoping they will return to designing products for customers before investors but alas, I still wait.
I gave up waiting. After using Apple since 1991, 2 years ago I needed a new Tower for my video production business. I bought a 16core PC, m.2 boot drive, 64GB RAM, 11GB video card and 12 internal HDD bays for $6k AUS. Now my personal MacPro is getting very old I am about to replace it with another PC for just $1,600 AUS. Apple just don't offer anything in a tower config :-( Mark

That ship has sailed

He probably was meaning that Apple will blow you away with the prices of these new products :)

He's obviously referring to how each system they make keeps getting hotter and hotter
