Apple held its annual investor's meeting at its Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, this morning, where Apple CEO Tim Cook shared some details on Apple's future product plans.

As outlined by Bloomberg, Cook said that Apple is "rolling the dice" on some future products that will "blow you away."

Cook went on to say that Apple's eventual goal is to be able reduce the price of the 2018 Retina MacBook Air, which currently starts at $1,200. In reference to the Apple Watch and the AirPods, Cook said there's a "long, great roadmap" of "fantastic" products on the horizon.

While Cook did not go into more detail, rumors have suggested that AirPods coming in the near future will be available in new colors (black) and will have new functionality including "Hey Siri" support and the ability to be wirelessly charged.

More ambitious products are also rumored to be in the works, including a pair of augmented reality smart glasses and perhaps even a full self-driving vehicle.

On the topic of services, Cook said Apple is well on its way towards meeting the goal it set in 2016, which was to double its $25 billion revenue by 2020. Later this month, Apple is expected to unveil two new products in the services category, including a new streaming TV service outfitted with original television shows and a new Apple News service with access to subscription news sites and magazines for a monthly fee.

Cook touched on other topics at the meeting as well, including Apple's political ideology. Shareholders soundly rejected a proposal that had suggested the ideology of board nominees should be disclosed in an effort to diversity the political opinions of Apple's board.

Cook also said that Apple is pushing for regulation against tech companies like Facebook and Google that build data profiles of their users. Cook first called for new U.S. privacy laws to protect citizens from data collection in October, but Apple has long been an advocate for customer privacy.

I think the only relevant part of this story is that the macbook will get a price cut. $1000 would be reasonable.

In other news the iPhone 11 will be thinner, no notch, twice the battery, life bring back the headphone jack, include a free pair of AirPods and be half the price and people will still complain.

Tim “What’s in the Pipeline Is Amazing” Cook.

He was saying the same stuff back in 2012-2013 and all we got were the Apple Watch, HomePod, AirPods, and some incremental improvements to iOS products.

The problem with Tim using words like amazing, and fantastic is that it's so subjective.
In my opinion, products like Apple Watch, HomePod, AirPods are good enough...but they aren't revolutionary.
It's been a while since we've seen a revolutionary product from Apple.

Gee just terrible stuff and has been - OOPS the most valuable company (even when it is only #2 or 3 just terrible results) probably has done nothing for years.
I wonder what % of product cost is lawyers and law suits. If too many employees wear the same color shirts some group of lawyers will sue Apple. Want to reduce Apple product costs - get rid of profits for lawyers

Apple watch saving lives is pretty amazing...since 4-5 years ago we didnt had thing like this
Airpods again redefines what is the logic of wireless intuition of this kind of product
Apple pay is flawless dead easy
retina Macs also redefined the big displays and not only the smartphones one

STOP TALKING AND DELIVER!

we've been told some variance of this since he took the range. "in the pipeline" "things you've never seen before". etc, etc.

but have only seen incremental updates to everything. The only new products under his watch were the Watch (the market was already started) and the HomePod (lets not get into debate over that one).

if he wants to keep saying this kind of stuff to keep investors happy without delivering, things are NOT going to go well for him.

Excuse me? He wanted to accept or reject people on the board based on political ideology? He was raised in China or something?

If you read all the historical comments here, the Mac’s been dead since 2001. I have no doubt that Apple will have a solid foot in the door of whatever future products are yet to shape the technological landscape.

It’s pretty interesting how macrumors has become so hostile over the years since I started frequenting the site.

I think the turning point wasn’t cook but when Angela came on and said basically they want to stop the line ups on launch days. Seems post iPhone 6 everything changed and the cult following stopped, but the increasing prices still feel like a big f you from Apple.

That being said, totally agree with everyone. Lack of innovation is really hurting the brand.
