Time for May challenges

Mine appeared today too: I have to double my move goal 13 times. So far, I’ve done it once.

My challenge for June is to close my activity ring for 30 days…which is equal to the perfect month challenge.

My June Challenge showed up late yesterday evening: "Earn this award by closing all 3 activity rings 30 times this month." I quoted the text to preempt anyone thinking I am confusing the monthly challenge with the normal perfect month achievement (which requires hitting the daily move goal every day in a month).

It's a bit of an odd challenge. Although I strive to close all 3 activity rings every day, since the challenge didn't appear until the end of day 4 I would have been somewhat disappointed had I missed a day before I even knew what the challenge was.

I completed my June challenge. Looking back, I got my watch in May, didn’t get a perfect month until July, and didn’t start getting the special challenges until December.

I don't think I ever get special challenge notifications. I just check on the 1st day of the month for available achievements. If you miss meeting the goal required -- sometimes daily goals, the achievement for the month disappears as it is no longer possible to meet the required stats to achieve the medal. For example, my special challenge for June is to double my move goal every day. If I had missed doing that on the 1st day of the month, the special achievement for June would have disappeared.

Sometimes when I read that people haven't received special achievements, I wonder if it's because they check after the 1st day of the month, and they've already not met the required stats to keep the achievement visible for the entire month.

Also, to make sure I see the special achievement for the month on the 1st, I reboot (slide off) my phone and watch on the 1st day of the month.

The special monthly challenges don’t always appear on the first of the month. I got mine on the 3rd or 4th in June; I think I got one on the first but usually they appear later. Also, some months, the challenge starts out as one thing and changes to something else the next day!
