I'm looking at doing the same although I may be tempted to preorder the second band online on the 10th if available. I'm looking at preordering the SS with the black sport band and either getting the blue leather loop or Milanese loop as a secondary band.

I'd be careful of pre-ordering the 2nd band in the same order, it might delay the delivery time (if you aren't picking it up in store).

I will be ordering the 42mm SS with white sports band. I believe this is the same one Tim Cook wears, and it seems to be the "hero" one featured in a lot of the Apple Watch marketing. I will probably pick up additional bands in the future. I initially was going to just order the sport with white sport band, but I prefer a heavier watch so I think the SS is a better choice for me. I'm also really excited to have a watch with a sapphire screen. I've always wanted a watch with a sapphire screen but could never afford one.

It doesn't matter what others think of it. What do you think? If you like it, get it. If not, then don't.

Absolutely. I do like it. It occurred to me that maybe people had worked out an inconvenience about the leather loop (that I hadnt) and not much interest, ie holding up over daily use.

I like it, SS and black leather loop it is.

----------

After seeing Milanese Loop in hands on videos, there's no way I'd get it.

Be aware that in some of the videos they're wearing the loop the wrong way on and the fold juts out and looks unusual. I mentioned it in another thread and the above was explained to me.

Unless you meant you just don't like the look of it, which is fair enough (I'm not mad on it).

I wasn't planning on doing that. I'm aware that doing so could delay the whole order. If I order a second band it will be a separate preorder. I'm also planning on ordering the longer charge cable as well but again as a separate order. My first priority will be to order the watch itself with the black sport band as that is the band I will be using on a regular daily basis.

Yeah, it juts out. If it's just on wrong, then its passable. Just not my bag. People will be alarmed seeing it in person I think. Apple photographs the band super close so the chains look bigger.

I'm going to pre-order 42mm SS with white sport band on 10th, then I'll buy leather band on 24th (or later)

Excited as hell!

Same I was switching frequently but the last couple weeks I haven't wavered on SS 42mm. Start with the sport band and then I will eventually pick up either a leather loop or a classic buckle.

I'm in exactly the same position as you OP! I really want the Leather Loop, but with a 181ish-sized wrist I'm a bit worried about ordering the wrong sized band. I want to get my pre-order in first thing Friday morning, but don't want to have to return the entire thing if I get it with a band which turns out to be too tight or loose.

I've also been between torn between the Classic Buckle and Milanese Loop. I think the Milanese looks nicer and more comfortable, but I worry that it could look a bit too formal and dressy on days when I'm kicking around in just jeans and a plain t-shirt.

I'm thinking I'll just pre-order with a black Sport Band, and then try on and buy the right sized Leather Loop in a store later that day. I hadn't been fussed on the look of the Sport Band + SS combo, until I saw the new Rolex Yacht-Master, a £16,000 watch which surprisingly has a rubber strap. It made me realise that in certain circumstances, a black rubber band can actually complement the aesthetic of a high-end timepiece, which is what made me consider the black Sport Band.

But like you, I'll no doubt change my mind dozens of times between now and Friday morning lol.

I've been back and forth daily over which to choose. I'll think I know, then change my mind. I halfway hope some are sold out when I log on to the Apple Store to preorder, just to make my decision easier.

I'm going with the AW Sport 42mm with Blue Band. It'll do for now but later on I'm defiantly going to purchase a 42mm Milanese Loop Strap and maybe a White Band Strap.

sports band + classic band used on same SS AW?

I thought that the Sports Band could be removed and a classic or modern buckle band be switched out as well. But, I was looking at 3rd part bands that are on Amazon for pre order and seems the leather bands don't come with the metal stainless steel loops and it was explained the bands could not be used on AW that come with the Sport Band because it doesn't have these loops. I looked at the metal bands and I wasn't sure if you can switch out the Apple leather bands with the Sport Watches with Sport bands. Probably over thinking. Sorry. Any invite though would be appreciated.

I originally wanted the Space Black SS link, but starting to realize that its way too dark. Im leaning more towards the Stainless Steel Link. I will pre-order and then go to the Apple store on the 10th and see both in person. There are so many variations of the SB SS and SS on the net that its so hard to tell the true color.

I have settled on the 42mm SS with LINK a long way back. I will in a separate order get the green sports band because it exactly matches my new work uniform. (I am a concierge and they made them stand out so people can spot us a half a mile away).

My wrists seem to be EXACTLY 205mm so I hope there is no sizing problem.

IF the SS with LINK is somehow backordered I will get SS with Black or White sports band depending on the moment.

I think I know why Apple made it's availability at least a month later. Otherwise, if it was "Available Today", there would be lots of out-of-stocks and lots of returns.

April 10th at 12:00AM PST, you will pre-order one watch. That afternoon, you come into the store to try it out and see all the models, you go home and change your pre-order, cry the one you want isn't available. Then on the 24th, you'll want a totally different model. The week following that, there are lots of returns from buyers and the watch is still out of stock, online or in-store.

First world problem.

Five days till pre-order.

I've changed my mind on my "absolutely final decision" a number of times, but the time is fast approaching when I'm going to have to commit.

I think I've narrowed it down to 42mm SS with classic buckle or 42mm SS with Milanese loop.

Anyone got any arguments to push me one way or the other?

I've ruled out:

Sports strap –– cheap looking on an expensive watch, rubber maybe sweaty, bit ugly round the back
Link -- way out of my budget
Modern buckle -- probably too feminine and only available with 38mm which is probably too small
Leather loop -- can't decide which size would be right for me (my wrist is 178mm) worried about how much overlap there'll be
Sports watch -- no strap flexibility, no sapphire screen

I'm in the same exact boat as you but I'm going with Milanese Loop:

1. I plan to run with my watch. not sure how durable the classic buckle is to sweat.
2. For the same exact price the Milanese loop looks more upscale

3. One thing I hate about classic buckles is the end that you tuck in pops out sometimes and it's annoying. With the Milanese loop you achieve exact size with nothing to tuck.

If money were no object, I would probably get the stainless steel with the link bracelet, but I personally can't justify $1,000 for that. I think the stainless model with the white or black band looks pretty darned good (if not exactly dressy), and it's a savings of $400 over the stainless bracelet. Also, I'm a little concerned about wearing a metal band because I do a lot of typing on a metal desk and on a Macbook, and could see the metal scratching or being scratched by the surface it's rubbing against. I don't want to have to take it off and put it on all the time.

So I guess the question for me is, black sport band or white? I think the white band is a bit more iconically Apple, and after years of only getting black phones, I have a white iPhone 6+ and iPad now. Still the black is pretty sleek looking with the stainless...

I'm still planning on the 42mm Space Gray Sport. Crossing my fingers that I get one on launch day. If the 42mm Space Gray is out of stock, I'll be buying the 42mm Silver Sport with White Band, then buy a black band along with it or a little down the road. I really like the Space Gray with Black Band, but the Silver with Black Band also looks good, so I'd be fine with either.

EDIT: This is the second option I am looking at. I'll have to buy the black band separately if I get the Silver Sport model. I really like it though.

so fing torn between ss w/ black sport band or sport in space grey with black sport band.

The SS is "nicer" made but also heavier which could be a negative from a fitness standpoint, and more expensive. I don't want it to be too heavy where I hesitate wearing it for a physical activity that isn't in the water.

I'm thinking sport with black or white band.....if money were no object of get space black stainless with stainless band....if I end up loving the watch I'll atleast get a stainless model next year
