LOL! Buy it. You can always return it for another style if you find you don't like it. I'm tempted to buy two of them to make up my mind and returning the 2nd.

38mm.

My husband doesn't even have skinny wrists and he's going 38mm. Reason being, the watch he wears now is the same height as the 38mm and he's fine with it being thinner, but doesn't want a taller watch, so he nixed the 42mm.

Unless he goes sport band, and he said he'd do 42mm for that. Right now, he's thinking 38mm with link.

Silver, not black.

So you think 38mm looks better? Been wearing these curious for about half hour now and I do find the 38mm good fit on my wrist, the 42mm just takes up close to the entire wrist.

I have VERY hairy arms and have been wearing the rubber Pebble band for a year and have no trouble with it pulling on my arm hair. Rubber can have very different textures and I CAN see that some could pull it. Doubt the Apple one will. (Is it rubber or plastic?)

Arm hair IS an issue with the link bracelets. They will pinch it and keep it. The Rolex link AND my Seiko regularly needed tweezers to pull out my arm hair they took.

BUT saying that. I am getting the SS Link anyway.

I thought you were going Milanese, Bruce?

It's funny how we all keep changing our minds. LOL.

I am a woman, but I have baby fine, light blonde hair on my wrists. It can only bee seen up close, but I know it's there and so do watch bracelets. Link bracelets always manage to pinch it now and then. I cannot imagine how badly they pinch the hair on a hairy dude's arm. Ouch.

I wondered if the Milanese would pinch. I suspect not as much as a link bracelet, because I had a Milanese-style band on the Citizen Eco-drive that I used to wear with no problems, but my Tag with the larger links pinches me some.

Measure a bit of paper or a piece of cardboard to approximate 10.5-11mm of thickness (gotta include the thickness of the paper) and shove it under each of those, then see how you feel about the size. I bet the 42mm will seem even larger to you.

My husband and I did that when we tried on the watch samples and it sold him on the 38mm if he goes for the Link band and the 42mm if he went solely for the Sport band. Sports watches look fine larger on men, but I think that any of the nicer bands on a really large watch (on a man) would look strange unless they have very large wrists as well.

Women can wear the 42 or the 38, because we can get away with having a huge watch on and calling it a "chunky bracelet" or whatever.

;)

I think you could go either way. Problem with those cutouts is that they don't take the thickness of the watch into consideration, so it'll be standing out from the wrist and it'll make the watch look larger to the eye.

The 42mm paper cutout looks fine on my wrist and I'm a small female with 155mm wrists. It looks fine on my daughter's wrist and she's a 14yo tiny thing with 145mm wrists.

But, if it were as thick as the actual watch, I think the 42mm would look quite large on my daughter and I.

If you're going for a "sporty" look, go for the 42mm. If you wanted more of a "professional" look, go for the 38mm.

I think either would work on your wrists, given the pics you posted.

The cut outs in my pic are on 1cm thick of cardboard, so yes I was trying to take thickness into account too.

WOW. You have a long memory. I flirted with the idea of the Milanese for about 5 minutes when I first saw it. BUT, once I saw several pictures of it I decided I did not like it for me.

It is SS Link for sure UNLESS there is a big backlog to get them. If I will not have it for sure before May 8 I will have to wait until I return from vacation.

I like the Link for men. It's a very masculine band. I wish they'd done a feminine link also.

My process is pretty easy. I've decided not to go SS, because I can't justify the cost (even though I could easily afford it). My reasons being it is a first gen product that will likely change a lot in the next couple years, there's no certainly of the sucess/usefullness of the product, and it has identical functionality to the Sport version. So that narrowed my options significantly.

I decided against blue, green and pink, because I wouldn't be allowed to wear those colors in my uniform.

So then white and black. I decided to go black because I think it looks better. Sexy, classy, sporty, goes with anything. The white might show more dirt also.

If I really enjoy the watch and want to get a band for dressier occasions then I'll get either the black or dark blue leather loop.

Going by this photo, I'm worried the leather loop may not be that nice in terms of its 'blackness' (but of course could just be lighting):

Are you certain that this is even the black leather? It could be the brown leather loop...

I thought I had decided on the SS with midnight blue modern buckle but I have changed my mind to the pink version of the modern buckle now and am thinking I will get a Milanese loop when funds allow too.

Does anyone think that the Milanese loop is too masculine or will it look okay on me?

Personally I think the Milanese loop is a unisex option and would look just fine on either a male or female.

Bloody hell, I was going Stainless steel with a black sport band but now I'm thinking Milanese loop. Changed my mind so many times.

I'm beginning to suspect that my brain is trying to trick me into buying the link bracelet.

I've decided on a SS with black rubber band. I was going back and forth between sports and SS. I don't like the cheap look of the aluminum so SS it is. That's my final answer. I think...

I can't decide! I can't decide! Every single day I flip flop. One day I'm deciding yes I will pay the extra money to get the SS, then the next day I've convinced myself to be fiscally responsible and get the sport model, plus less expensive to upgrade every year, then the next day switch from space gray to silver thinking the silver might go with more bands. Then the next day, wth maybe just get the SS again. I don't know how I'm going to decide which button to click on Thursday night.

Yeah this is me as well. I'm torn between sport with white band, SS with white band, or SS with milanese loop.

I'll probably end up going SS with white band and an extra milanese loop band, best of both worlds.

i like the lightness/durability/practicality of the sport and the aluminum matches my other apple devices. id also save a lot of money too. but i also dont want the "cheap" feeling and i know ill regret it as soon as i see someone with an SS out in the wild or in the media.

I started off going for the Sports variant as "it is gen 1 and so I'm not going to invest lots just yet, but then realised/decided that as this is going to be worn on my wrist everyday I really need to enjoy wearing it, so I moved on to the SS variant.

I think this part is really important to the decision. You'll be wearing this every. single. day. Personally, I need to like mine a lot because I'm not a big watch wearer nowadays. So spending the ridiculous amount on the Black SS will yield better results on my desire to use it constantly :D

This is exactly what I am going through!

Is no one going with the Black Stainless on black sports band?? The non SS just look cheap to me for some reason
