Was able to place an order at 2:57:42 AM EDT
64 6s Plus Space black
Started off with a ship date of October 16- 23
Refreshed a few moments ago and now it's at an October 16-16 ship date.

Ordered a phone for shipping via Apple before seeing the in-store reservation option. I ended up reserving one as well.

Does anyone know when my upgrade eligibility changes? Is it when my phone ships, or when I activate it?

In other words, can I use my upgrade eligibility for the in-store pickup and return the phone that's being shipped? There are some things I'd like to talk to the AT&T reps about before activating.

@Oridus ? lol, sorry man.

EDIT: Hmm, AT&T's site is showing the line as ineligible so maybe I won't be able to pick up the one in-store instead.

So I have to say this was the easiest. Even better than Apple. When I was done ordering, Apple's website wasn't up yet.

I had an earlier window to order on AT&T Premier. When I looked at around 11:50, I was at the select a phone page, but then it hung. I was able to get back in though.. The benefit of AT&T's web order: I had to enter address info, whereas at Apple's website last year, I didn't. But Apple's ordering required all the other info.

It knew my plan and kept it just the same. I found out, I am only paying $24/mo for unlimited data.

Made a mistake and ordered next 12 instead of 24. Does anyone know if and how I can make this change without losing my order?

Paid my installment in order to upgrade early at 3:01.

AT&T took out my money but the status is still the same. "you have to make 3 more payments" - I did that already AT&T! Update my account now please.

FML.

Aside from ATT's apparent inability to know which phones I have on my plan everything went smoothly! They sure know how to make this a goat rope!

Unless there was an unusually high demand for that particular color/storage phone I'd be shocked if you don't get your phone on launch day. Similar back orders and far out ship dates were seen every year since iPhone 4. Most who saw that initially had their phones on launch day.

Mine still says October 16th...

7:30AM - big scare... Chase texted me, (did you spend $475 at a phone carrier? Reply 1 for yes 2 for no).. 1, yes - Hell yeah. Response: Tell the retailer to run the transaction again, the payment has not completed.

You have to be kidding me. We get $#$% at both ends. It's like I am some stick, and two children are trying to sharpen my head and feet with a pocket knife.

I called AT&T, seriously I might as well have called a goat. "Um did you say "DEB" order? I don't know what that is, I will have to look it up." (WEB WEB I said Web order as in Internet) "Oh, I am not pulling anything up with that order number." Seriously they pull these people from some temp agency and don't train them. They have no idea what's going on, just field the phone call.

I know we are like locusts. But give these poor CSRs training, terminology, flash cards, anything to get them though the ordeal, because it is an ordeal. It's feed stock of unbridled tech. We have, friends, literally shifted billions of dollars over the last several hours. Let's make that as smooth as possible.

Chase, what are you thinking? You are risking my order getting cancelled. Fine notify me someone tried to spend my money (your money), but please just process the transaction, and if I say no, BACK CHARGE IT. How hard is that?

Fortunately, AT&T tried charging it again, and it when through. Hey folks, they charged my card already. I am paid up on this puppy.

That first text, wasn't a minute before I replied YES. I could have been a sleep still, but I wasn't. I was right there, phone in hand.

Still says October 16th... Do you think it started that way from first order? Who got Sept 25th?

Thank goodness! I was worried because I usually order through Apple, but this time I had a partial upgrade so instead of paying $849 for the full phone I got $200 off with AT&T.

My eligibility date is October 3rd and AT&T straight up refused to budge. Even offered to pay the ETF of $95 and they said that would make me off my contract but wouldn't effect my eligibility date.

Frustrated but with my grandfathered unlimited I'm stuck with no decent options to switch to another carrier :/

Oh well

I ordered 1:48am, 6s Plus 64b Rose gold, Order is saying preparing to ship. Anyone have their order with the same status? My ship date is the October one

My order placed at 5:15am, iPhone 6s Plus 128Gb Space Gray, now says "Preparing to ship" status. My ship date is listed as: 10/16/15 - 10/23/15.

Preparing to ship sounds better than backordered. By chance, could my phone show up as early as launch date of 9/25 or soon thereafter?????

I've heard of lots of people getting their ship dates moved up, from what was initially stated, in previous years.

If it says preparing to ship there is a high likelihood it'll arrive the 25th as has been the case in past years. The iPhone 4 and 6 pre orders were very similar if not more insane via ATT. I'm not trying to blow smoke and get anyone's hopes up too much as anything is possible but generally if you ordered early morning you're probably good to go. I ordered the iPhone 5 right at 11am EST pre order day and mine said back ordered for some time then said preparing to ship. I received it on launch day.

During the crazy iPhone 4 launch I ordered about 4am and actually recieved the phone a day prior to launch. That was a fluke that likely won't happen again but I and many others were happy needless to say.

Yep mine says Preparing to Ship - Delivery 9/25, order time 2:53am
6S/64GB/SGY

And I concur - everybody but 1 person I followed last year with the 6+ mid October ship dates got theirs on launch day. There always seems to be a shortage of the '+' ones. You'd think Apple would have learned their lesson from last year. People want the larger phones and the new color!! Wake up ATT and Apple!!

Damn. I ordered at 5:28 central time through Apple with the next program. I got the 9/25 delivery date. That was 3 hours after pre order started.

Really? You are like the only att plus preorder that has 9/25 or preparing for shipment. I ordered mine at 252 and still says October.

Ordered my gold 64gb 6s about 3:50 am eastern and I have a "preparing to ship" with delivery 9/25

As I mentioned earlier don't sweat the dates you're seeing right now too much. They will likely change as the days go by getting closer to launch. ATT doesn't actually have stock of these phones yet so their projection dates as far as history goes are just that...projections. If you ordered on the 12 (especially early) you will more than likely be enjoying your new phone on the 25th.

I know it's not much consolation but this happens every iPhone launch and few people are actually left in the lurch.

Thanks. Seems it's more with pluses. But your theory makes sense.
