Same here, I’m following the owners on this thread to see how their watches are holding up.
Just came from Apple Store the SB Ti is more a dirty grey. I admit, it doesn’t look cheap, but doesn’t look that much better than aluminum version. Stainless Steel and Ceramic versions (to me) are the only one watches that look premium.

I just got mine (“silver Titanium) It’s much prettier irl than the pictures on Apple’s website. Very classy - much different than the silver aluminum too.

What really surprised me is that the color does have a golden hue when inside, it does not in daylight.

I’ll post pictures when I get home, comparing with the silver SS.

Right? I saw that golden hue, but that was inside the Apple store. I wondered if it was maybe just the type of lights Apple had. I would prefer it not have the golden hue, but it was very very subtle. Good news that it doesn't show up in daylight.

Anyone have a silver Ti with saddle leather loop they'd like to post a pic of?

I don't have a picture, but I tried this combination in store and it was really really nice looking. I was ready to buy it on the spot, but they didn't (nor anyone else from what I understand) have the leather bands in stock. I'm still on the fence with the Ti after hearing of all the scratches, waiting to see more reviews as my Black SS AW3 can tie me over until then.

I’ve compared cell reception of TiSB5 , SSSB5 and SSSB4. All 3 are on Att. TiSB5 faster that other 2 loosing the signal and very slow picks the signal back. I know may be I have a faulty unit , but I say what I’ve seen.

No scratches so far on my Ti black.

I ride my bicycle without phone and cell reception is important to me.

So far with poor battery life , possible scratches and poor RF reception I have to choose between SBSS 4 or 5 . Ceramic white looks plastic and girlish for me.

I've been on the fence about titanium since it launched, not b/c of scratches but more of what do I want as it will be my first watch. I happened to check the NYC 5th avenue store today and they had them in stock so I bought one, although the pickup time was like 10PM so i'll just get it tomorrow..or order online if they cancel my order as it's a bit insane with the reopening of the store and UN in town.

Either way I'll report back when I get it...hopefully by tomorrow.

I've been lurking... From ordering SBTi on release day to hearing aboyt the scratches, then to back out and get the SBSS... To now having both in my hand... I still can't decide which to keep... The SBTi hasn't scratched at all... The SBSS feels even tougher, even though SBTi should be structurally tougher. Seriously... Choosing between these two has been harder than choosing what car to get... Any insights?

I saw these in person and didn’t dig the SBTI. I would personally go for the SS but that’s just me. I think the silver TI looked nicer.

I would wear the SG aluminum before I wore the SBSS. It's all personal opinion and what you like. For me, I can't stand the gloss black, but others that's the appeal. The good news is you can't go wrong with either choice.

I completely disagree. I think the aluminum watch looks super cheap but to each their own.

Get rid of the titanium. Looks cheap and will scratch eventually. An easy decision in my opinion.

This imo. The black titanium looks ****ing gross in my opinion, the aluminum looks way better as a matte black option.

Lol. It happens I guess but I would never wear anything aluminum on my wrist let alone a cheap watch from Apple that scratches as soon you do anything with it.

Yeah looking at them side by side, I have to say the SBSS looks nicer to me... no offense to anyone who loves their SBTi. It’s a very personal decision and photos don’t necessarily convey the way it looks in person. I hate to **** all over any particular model because I know there are people who love it.

Good photos. Thanks

I much prefer matte finishes so I like the black titanium. Had SBSS series 4 and liked it but always wished it was matte.

Ceramic white is cool but can be considered feminine. You don’t see any higher end watch companies making white ceramic watches targeted at men. I would wear but I also don’t care as much as others do about this. I also carry a man bag everywhere.

I am liking the black titanium so far and using it all day with no scratches.

In order of like... black titanium > SBSS > ceramic (wish they made gray again) > silver titanium > SilverSS

Are the sport bands that come with the S5 Edition models the same for Titanium and Ceramic?

High grade stainless steel is currently $1.55 per lb

titanium is $26.39 per lb

although at the quantity needed for a watch we’re talking about $0.10 for steel and maybe $1 for titanium for actual materials.

aluminium is more expensive than Ss in raw material costs.
With all due respect, I stand by my statement that the cost difference is negligible and you’ve actually emphasized that. That said you’re absolutely right about the raw material costs and how significant a difference there can be in many other applications.

Just received my SBTi, have to say I quite like the look of it. I had a SBSS S2 and a GoldSS S4. As much I love the SS, I appreciate the lighter weight. Love the gloss of the SBSS but smudges easily. The matte black finish is what I’ve wanted, very happy with it, looks and feels nothing like the aluminium. My SBSS was very tough but I’m willing to give this one a go.

I agree with what Dan said above, all this money spent on the titanium, it looks way too-similar to the aluminum. Now, some don’t care about the aesthetics, then the titanium obviously offers the sapphire display. But if somebody was looking for a separation away from the aluminum that the titanium offers, I just don’t see it. I think the stainless steel supersedes the titanium in terms of the aesthetics with either the regular stainless or black stainless, and then of course there’s the ceramic if someone wants an entirely different watch material.

I feel very much the same!

It is good thing for us Apple makes more than one watch! Ha!

I would take any of them except an Aluminum one! And don’t care for the Gold SS...

But I do like the look of this Black Titanium watch.

That’s right, Apple gave us all choices to choose from. I’m not saying the titanium is a ‘bad choice’, I just think it conflates too closely to the aluminum.
