Black link bracelet just arrived. I think it looks sharp with the Titanium. Very happy.
A few more.
I am considering both of these as well. They both look sharp but in a slightly different way. I almost feel like I would tire of the gold sooner. I had a SSSB S2 and gave it to my wife after a few months. I think I really wanted the SS instead. The Ti may hold me longer. Probably because it looks "simply" sleek.Photos of both the Titanium and Gold S5. Waiting for my black link bracelet to arrive on Friday to try on with both, but I'm definitely going to keep the titanium I think. It just has a subdued, minimalist vibe that appeals to me. I also enjoy how the colour changes depending on the ambient light. Altho only seven grams, the weight difference is definitely noticeable as the SS feels top-heavy whereas the Ti feels 'balanced' on the wrist.
Very Nice! Will you post some of the Gold S5 with the black link?A few more.
Had my TI a week now. No scratches yetView attachment 866387
Only flag ship stores carried the ceramicsOk, I just went back to some old threads. Apple Stores carried stock of the ceramic series 3, so I’m confident they will carry the titanium models tomorrow![]()
10 days with my replacement (launch date model got scratches after less then 24 hours) and no scratches so far!

I honestly wonder whether some of the posts on this forum are just trolling.
Yes and he said the strap did it?? I’m sorry but that’s not happened on mine. I have no doubt if you whack it on something hard it will mark.Seems your ‘wondering’ is mistaken. Below are pictures of the titanium watch that is scratched, (this is not my watch), but yes, it does happen and this is _not_ the first member to come forward about it either.

Apple Watch Titanium more resistant to scratches?
I bought this silver version and just rubbing on a shirt sleeve and normal use it scratched very noticeably in 5 days. I returned and got a SS version. At least this version you can easily buff out. The matte finish of the Titanium cannot be buffed out easily. A few videos are online for...forums.macrumors.com

How do you know that was the strap?? I think the guy has a valid point about trolling. There looks like a dent on one of those photos top right. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was dropped. Drop any of the AWs and you’ll be lucky to get away with it. Maybe there is something in the comments also that some of the Ti’s have a defective finish. Why are apologizing? You’ll have to ask that specific member, that’s not my watch as Mentioned. But the point behind the post, is that member believed others were ‘trolling’ about the natural titanium not having any damage, when obviously these pictures indicate damage by something as minuscule as a plastic watch lug.

The question should be, why ‘wouldn’t’ we believe it’s the strap that caused the damage to that titanium Apple Watch? I mean, are you indicating that member is lying, even after they posted pictures specifically what happened? As I said before, why don’t you ask that member specifically, if that’s your concern. They stated it was scratched from ‘Sport Loop plastic buckle’, which very well could be a possibility
I’m not going to make any assumptions, and neither should you, because that’s not my Apple Watch. But back to my original point again, is that someone else indicated that the titanium did scratch. There was also other members mentioning that there titanium watch scratched throughout the forum, but that’s just the only post that I can remember coming across with actual evidence of photos.
The only finish on the natural titanium, is the smudge/fingerprint resistance. There is no type of protective finish that would protect against scratches of any sort with the titanium model, so that has nothing to do with scratching/damage protection.
do you have a Ti. There’s always one and you are it. 😂
Maybe? My first ti was a launch day delivery and seemed to scratch up easily. My replacement was from an Apple Store and hasn’t gotten a mark even after a week plus of daily use. Maybe my first one just had a defective protective coating?Hi! About your replacement, do you think you had a faulty unit? Or the first ones where that way and you think that is why the display on the stores are so scratched? I just picked up a natural ti today at an Apple store and im so nervous about it scratching
Thanks!!
So you don’t have one?? I rest my case. Crack on giving everyone advice. 😂👍Why would I need to own a titanium watch to comment/refute what you said? I posted some pictures from another thread of where another members watch was scratched, you indicated it was likely ‘dropped’, which you wouldn’t know that, you just assumed .
And you also mentioned that it could be a ‘defective’ finish, which that has nothing to do with the scratch resistance, because there is _no_ finish that protects the titanium casing against scratches, except for smudges/fingerprints. So if you want to comment, at least be a bit more educated on on the contents of this discussion and/or the titanium Apple Watch in general, since you own one.
And for the record, I actually own the space black stainless Apple Watch, which includes an actual scratch resistance with the DLC, there, now you’re a bit more educated. 😁
I agree there might be something in that theory. But someone here who doesn’t own one might leave you a comment. 👍😀Maybe? My first ti was a launch day delivery and seemed to scratch up easily. I think it’s pretty clear from this thread with multiple posters that the Titanium watch (silver) can scratch pretty easily. I’m not sure why people take it so personally. It’s more of a FYI. If you are worried about scratches then you probably should stay away from the Titanium. So you don’t have one?? I rest my case. Crack on giving everyone advice. 😂👍
The point I was trying to make is that saying the plastic strap damaged the watch is not happening for many of us here. We all know scratches can happen but I think you have to give it more abuse than that. There needs to be a balance when people ask the question worrying it will scratch really easy which I think is not true. Some idiot on YouTube needs to do a video testing this. So we can advise people to go to this.I think it’s pretty clear from this thread with multiple posters that the Titanium watch (silver) can scratch pretty easily. If you don’t care about scratches then it really doesn’t matter then, right?
