I did try that, I used my spectacle cleaner and cloth at the demo table - didn’t rub off at all.

I would be skeptical on this because people come in trying to scratch things. They could have taken one of the bands with DLC and rubbed it on that watch.

This. It’s been said a million times. Anything will scratch given the right material and amount of force is used, even an SBSS...

I went to the Apple store yesterday and compared the Natural Ti to the aluminum at length. If anyone looks at these two watches and sees the same thing or thinks they are "pretty much the same" should absolutely get the aluminum and enjoy it in beautiful bliss. I think the Ti oozes a quality that is intended for those that can appreciate it.

This is exactly how I felt but the weight, sapphire glass and the quality that it 'oozes' as you put it, won me over. And I'm not quite sure why some consider the aluminum to be similar but they are vastly different looking to my eyes. The Ti seems to glow and absorb/reflect the colours around it. In my opinion, I think Apple hit the ball out of the park with this one.
The natural Ti 'scuffs' and does not 'scratch' per se. The two terms are similar but one seems to imply that a texture can be felt whereas in my experience, so far, small shiny buff marks appear that seem like they can be rubbed out but cannot. Doesn't bother me in the least but a mark on the display would drive me bonkers.

TiS5, black link bracelet.

So I was on the fence re SBTi. After going to the local store and seeing the scratches on the SBTi I am going to go SBSS. Shame because I like the grey band and leather loop for not that much extra compared to the SBSS.

I really don’t know what people are doing to the watches in store. Seriously I’ve had my SBTi for a few weeks now and not a single mark. If you really like the look of SBTi I’d say just give it a try during the 14 day window and see how it works out for you first hand.

Whow what’s happening with the delivery windows of the Titanium models.
On launch I bought a SBSS but have a little regret nog buying the normal titanium one.
If I now want one with a leather loop it has a delivery Window in Germany of half december 😳

‘is the demand that strong?

The usual thing to do is assume it could be because of demand (Which is a possibility), but it could because of Apple supplier that actually manufactures the titanium casing causing a constraint with this specific material. Also, as we all know, Apple tends to under promise and over deliver.

its the band, not the case model. Check the sport loop and that is a month earlier.

The Ti models are readily available at flagship stores. Unfortunately they only come with sport loop or sport band option. The long wait for the Ti is if you're matching it with leather loop. The loop has a delivery date of a month and a half or more. None of the stores have the leather loops readily available.

Almost at my 14 mark for the SBTI. Running strong with no scratches. Unlike the Natural Ti which scratched super easily during my short ownership of it.

Decided to order the SBTiS5 44 MM. Sadly have to wait till 11/26/19 - 12/2/19. Oh the torture. For the time being, I'm buying the cheap S5 every 2 week and return it and get a new one until my Ti Watch arrives. I traded in my S4 for when I got the Watch 5, and I cannot live out having a watch.
That's wrong on so many levels. I'm surprised Apple didn't add any limitation to their refund/return policy to prevent situations like this.

You could just wait like everybody else, or order the SBTi with a less popular band to move the delivery date closer. Also Apple tends to overstate the delivery dates so you get a "good surprise" when your order arrives sooner.

They do. without a genuine reason, there is only so many times that you can replace items within a two week window

Which “less popular” bands move up
The date? Every sport loop for the 44mm SBTi shows Dec 4-10 delivery for me.

Any natural Ti owners left here. How’s it holding up?

I've only had it a week and it has a few scratches. It seems very easy to get micro scratches but so far, the scratches only show themselves when they hit the light at the right angle and close up.

At arms length I can't tell they are there.

The stores have them in stock with whatever bands they have on display. You purchase the Ti’s and then select a band. In the box you get either the light or dark grey sports band.

Do you think over time it will look nice and even? Sort of the way a wedding band "breaks in" or patinas?

Right. I just haven’t seen them in stores anywhere.

Right here. Two weeks and three days later, no scratches in sight. And that’s under a magnifier.

Daily wear, running and swimming, etc.

Looks great with the midnight blue, dark grey, & orange sport band, the Alaskan blue sport loop, and the black Nike sport loop.

This is my first non-SG aluminum AW (I’ve had them all since S0) and it just makes me happy every time I look at it, haha!! I’ve always had a thing for Ti, so I’m biased, but IMHO this is the best looking AW to date. Zero regrets.

Last photo shows two small scuff marks on the top center of the case.
