The Ti models are readily available at flagship stores. Unfortunately they only come with sport loop or sport band option.

Just to clarify this, I have three Apple stores in my region, two of which are _not_ flagship stores that are showing the natural titanium in stock right now (The black Ti is not in stock). Oddly enough, the other store in my region is considered a ‘flag ship’ store and that does not have the titanium in stock. [I mentioned it before, Apple stock allocations are very strange. ]

is there any subtantial difference between titanium and stainless series 5 apple watches on the wrist?
i know there is weight diff on paper but would a user feel that mere 7 grams diff?

No, you won’t feel the difference.

its the band, not the case model. Check the sport loop and that is a month earlier.

Ah that's the case (no pun intended) indeed. Only ordering the band separate makes it 50,- more expensive (and I am not going to use the sport loop)

edit: oke, F it, changed to TI with sportloop and the brown leatherloop in a order of it‘s own.

I’ve been following this thread for weeks. Finally pulled the trigger today. Hopefully it holds up.

To me, there is quite a noticeable difference. But I'm not a big guy by any means. 5'9", 172lbs with average to small wrists to give you an idea. I had both the SS (returned) and Ti for two weeks. When holding the cases in hand there is little difference. On the wrist I definitely noticed it. I sometimes have to look or move my wrist to make sure it's on, esp in bed. With the SS I always knew I was wearing it.

Do you think over time it will look nice and even? Sort of the way a wedding band "breaks in" or patinas?

I have no idea. For one, I don't know what titanium looks like when it has a patina. I did a Google search but I didn't find anything notable. Another thing is that for some reason, all of the scratches seem to be perpendicular to the brushed finish.

I think only time will tell what the watch will look like long term.

I think that’s just your mind making you think it weighs less. There is about 5 grams difference in weight. That’s about the weight of a sheet of paper.

I wore both watches on each wrist at the same time, several times, switching sides to make sure my dominant arm didn't have an influence. There is definitely a noticeable difference. Obviously to each their own but the titanium just feels perfectly weighted for a wristwatch.

You do feel the weight difference in the first 2-5 min of swapping between SS and Ti, but you quickly get used to it aftwerward.

Substantial? No. But I can definitely feel the difference. Tho you get adjusted quickly like others said.

I have 2 days in the 14 days window period to decide whether I will stick with the SBSS or to go for SBTi. Slightly apprehensive that SBTi could scratch rather easily compared to SSSB. Any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated! And also if I were to go for the titanium I don't want to take the apple care plus. 179£ in uk is a rip off compared to 89£ on the SS.

So I was in Vegas and picked up the ceramic... I had to return my original SBTi because the screen glass had an imperfection but the local stores in PHX didn’t have SBTi to replace. Had every intention of getting another SBTi while in Vegas but really was drawn to the ceramic.

Then looking at the SBTi i the store it was scratched on the crown! The Apple store employee said he has seen some of the SBTi units scratches. I asked to clarify it was the SB variant and he did. He did say he has seen the SBSS scratched but that was super rare.

I really like the look of the SBTi but the ceramic is calling me this go around.

SBTi does scratch then, dare I say easily? May be not. But definitely compared to the stainless steel SB thought.

A lot of us here have the SBTi and most of us haven’t had any issues with scratches, myself included. There had been a few who noticed scratches at Apple store but I tend to trust user reports here as a better indication of everyday durability.

Is it as tough as SBSS? Maybe not, but many here have been wearing it doing everyday things and not had a problem. So I don’t consider it as scratch-prone either.

for me the SBSS is too shiny for my liking and tends to be prominet on the wrist expecially after a hand wash and quick shake to get rid of excess water. so the watch i will be replacing with should be light weight and not so shiny and ofcourse scratch resistant. aluminum is an option but iox x glass is apparently a scratch magnet. so titanium SB is the only option. cant justify the price tag of ceramic. there seem to be conflicting opinions on whether the user would actually feel the weight difference on the wrist (this between SS and Ti). may be initially but after getting used to? best to pop into an apple store and check that my self i guess.

This seems to be a common myth on this forum and all depends on how an individual plans on treating their watch. Sure the Ion-X will scratch easier than Apples version of sapphire due to it being a softer material but if you are not someone who regularly bashes your watch into hard objects then it’s not an issue. I’ve worn an aluminium for years and not had an issue. MKBHD did a Series 5 review last week and commented that he’s never had an durability issues.

I only point this out because it’s becoming quite a theme in this section to suggest the aluminium watch scratches easily and some poster who are first time AW users have invested in more expensive models due to this fear when it’s likely it wouldn’t have been an issue in the first place.

to be honest before the SSSB i did have the alumium space grey for about 10 days, loved it though. but due to fear of scratching i got that replaced with in the 14 day window, with the SBSS.

I worn a SS silver for three generations (s0/s2/S4) and so I bought a SBSS as S5.

Love and hate it with that watch. It’s sure nice but it does not hava the presence of a silver SS one if you ask me.
