I've never had an iPhone that wasn't jailbroken. Besides the iPhone 4 which I bought release day and learnt the hard way that an iPhone that isn't jailbroken has about 50% of the functionality for me personally of one that is jailbroken. Those months waiting for the jailbreak were painful. No bitesms. No themes. No springtomize. It was awful. I felt like I had a great phone that couldn't be great due to limitations. And it was the first time i'd actually understood the android fanboys 'android is more open' phrase. No ability to close all apps at once. Not being able to decide where I wanted my apps to be. Not being able to remove names of apps etc. No Sbsettings. There is, for me anyway, just too much missing in stock iOS.

I've had zero stability issues and now don't even consider upgrading my phone until the jailbreak is released.

I did consider the 6 until I had a au with it for twenty minutes in the apple store. That was enough to make me realise I needed to wait for the jailbreak.

You have a serious attitude problem here. Just cause you jailbreak doesn't mean you're "superior".

I'd rather have stability than a jailbreak. There is nothing I need to do with my phone that I can't do right now.

I don't want resource hogging themes, background processes, or any other crap anywhere near it.

I never said I was superior, nor did any of my tweaks regard theming. Nothing I do slows down my software, only speeds it up.

Regardless of the tone you are getting from my post, it's just annoying when people are oblivious to/ignore blatantly superior ways of doing things.

If that annoys you how the hell do you make it thru your day, you must live a stressful life.

I just looked at online videos of your 7 "amazing" tweaks and all I can say is meh. Not that amazing.

I had my iPad and iPhones jailbroken under ios 5 and 6. Had lots of tweaks that made using the devices more convenient. Then ios 7 came out, and I upgraded to iPad Air and iPhone 5s, and there was no jailbreak for a long time. When a jailbreak finally came out, a lot of my favorite tweaks from ios 5 and 6 no longer worked. At first I kept checking to see if any of them got updated or other tweaks came out to replace them, but as time went by, I checked less and less. So now I have two jailbroken devices with almost no tweaks installed. And in the meanwhile, Cydia is full of tweaks that are for older iOS versions, and there's no easy way to filter them out when browsing through the tweaks. So overall, looking for and installing tweaks I find useful has become a lot more tedious. So I'm feeling meh about jailbreak right now, and don't know if I'll jailbreak iOS 8 if and when a JB becomes available.

So you're saying that swiping up from the bottom to return to the home screen is easier than pressing a button? Wow, how lazy can you possibly be if you can't even be bothered by pressing a single button?

I know it sounds equally or more time consuming but it's actually much smoother as it responds instantly.

I'm not being snotty it's just annoying when people are oblivious to/ignore blatantly superior ways of doing things.

That is your opinion.

I quit jailbreak in because it was smooth sailing until something just wasn't stable anymore. Not to mention almost all the tweaks I use are now already in iOS.

Sbs settings-control center
Mifi- my att mobile hotshot
Caller ID block- blocking option on Apple.
Url bar search: I can also do that in safari and Google Chrome
Camera timer- comes included
Slo-mo: im getting the six plus so no need for that
Octopus keyboard- iOS now supports keyboards.
Facetime unrestrictor- it's been in iOS for awhile.
Game system emulators- can now be played without jbing.

The themes were great but none of the themes I've liked covered all my apps and it just ended up looking odd.

If I were to jailbreak, I'd would be solely for video pane. Despite what apple says, it's really nice to be able to watch whatever video I'm watching and reply to my text.

With the pay system on iPhone now, I'm even more hesitant to jailbreak.

The fact that TH55 endorses it, is enough to keep me far far away from it.

Why is that? If anything it should be the opposite, if I'm frequently critical of the system, things I do endorse should be near flawless. Unless you're just trying to be insulting.

After using android for a while you realize how much you miss a stable OS and most importantly apps and features, then you stop playing with jerky jailbreak tweaks. Most useful jb stuff are built-in the last ios iterations anyway and the cosmetic ones don't worth it.

BTW what is the status of ios8/iphone 6 jb?

Only jailbreaked once with the 5 and I've owned every iPhone since the 3G and it froze my phone. Couldn't turn it on or do anything. Got it to turn on after a while using iTunes. Stability would be the reason I don't do it anymore.

There are countless reasons to Jailbreak, not the least of which is the highly flawed iOS.

While iOS is by far the best option in regards to smartphone software, there are still numerous shortcomings/flaws that Jailbreaking fixes. Here are my top 7 reasons you should be Jailbroken and why I could never go back to stock iOS and you wouldn't either.

1. SwipeNav - This tweak enables you to swipe left from anywhere in the screen to return to the previous menu/window. Even on the iPhone 4S this made the user experience so much smoother and more efficient, but then with the 5 and now the 6? It's an absolute necessity. You simply can't reach the top half of the screen and reachability helps but it's still an awkward workaround and impedes the otherwise smooth flow of iOS. No, SwipeBack is not the same thing, not even close.

2. DeleteWord - Shift: Delete to delete entire words at a time. Huge enhancement. I feel handicapped not having this feature.

3. Zephyr/Multitasking Gestures - Allows you to swipe up from the bottom to close a window. Enormously faster and more efficient than hitting the Home button every time.

4. Sleipnizer - Allows you assign a variety of R, L, and U gestures to a host of different functions in Safari. I got so used to making a small swipe of my finger to close a tab or open a new one that it is like torture every time I go to use it on my 6 and have to take 3-4 steps to accomplish what I was able to with 1 smooth swipe. One of the cooler functions you can assign is close all tabs but current.

5. OpenTabBG - A function of Sleipnizer, this lets you hold down on a link and automatically opens in a new tab in the background. One, simple step. Stock iOS requires holding down very firmy (low sensitivity) and then carefully selecting "open in background" from a completely unnecessary useless list of other options, one of which, Add to Reading List, directly below it and you constantly accidentally click it. If you are lucky and patient enough to click the right one, it then has a pointless and time consuming animation. This requires anywhere from 2 steps to 5-6 steps.

6. CallBar - Simply replaces intrusive incoming call screen with subtle bar at the top of the screen which you can either swipe to answer or ignore it to ignore and continue browsing.

7. ShaketoUndoKiller/NoSpot - Removes two incredibly annoying and unnecessary features, Shake to undo and Spotlight search, which are activated accidentally far more than they are deliberately.

I used to jailbreak, but I don't anymore.

Why? Because I like things to just work. I don't have the time nor patience anymore to do with the process, testing tweaks, deleting them, trying to find the solution when there's a problem. Also, most every tweak/app I used to install is now taken care of by stock iOS. Security is another concern. The way the world is today, the last thing we need is another avenue by which our devices can be accessed with bad intent.

Plus, I have many other things happening in my life more important than little tweaks and such for my phone.

Just because those tweaks interest you, doesn't mean they interest everyone else. Not everyone wants to tinker with their devices, and there's no shame in that.

I'm sure there is a name for that logical fallacy.

I never jailbroke my iPhones, but I rooted my Droid when I had it. I was constantly messing with it, and I fee like I just missed out on enjoying my phone. It was the first and only device I rooted. Since then I've left the rest alone and just enjoyed the phones for why they are.

I can't wait to jailbreak iOS 8. I never had it crash on me. The only jailbreaks i used were the ones that blocked ads on safari and youtube app, movie box, and app locking. If iOS 8 had app locking and ad blocking i wouldn't have to jailbreak.

What about the 7 tweaks I mentioned. Did you even read them?

I read them. Still doesn't make me want to jailbreak again. Perhaps you enjoy it but the enhancements you listed are not intriguing for me. Obviously you enjoy the tweaks but it sure as hell isn't the opinion of everyone.

Yeah, they've become so integral to my experience I could never go stock

The "highly flawed" part is your opinion and highly subjective. I disagree.

I see zero reasons to exploit my device. I see zero reasons that I cannot update to the latest version without fear that my dirty hacks won't continue to work.

I have never, I will never jailbreak my device.

This is an opinion. And you're welcome to have this opinion. I for one, have a different opinion.

It's great that you jailbreak, and that those added functions you list make iOS useful to you. But my usage patterns are different, and I don't feel a need to jailbreak because "stock" iOS does what I need of it. And that's all there is to it.

Agreed. It's nice to have a stable OS without having to use some security hack on my device.

I think you grow out of it over time as the phone becomes more important to you. I love to tinker but I'd rather have all the security updates and stability of the latest OS. The phone it just too important for that stuff.

This is sort of my reason as well. On my old iPad that I use for surfing on the couch, playing games, showing bird videos to my cat, etc., on that device I have it jailbroken and it actually is crucial for how I use it, because the jailbreak lets me lock the screen so that my cat can't accidentally stop the bird video when he paws at it, and surfing the web is so much more pleasant with sleipinizer, and I have at certain times had NES and other videogame emulators installed on it, etc.

But, for my phone that is intended to be ready to do work at all time, I don't want to monkey around with the stability of it.

So I didn't "grow out of it", it's just that jailbreak and non-jailbreak devices are each best suited to different roles.

A few reason:
1.) Just don't feel the need for it anymore. Sure, in the beginning, iOS lacked a lot of things, but over time, they were either added or just not worth the headache to jailbreak.
2.) Security. I don't feel like opening myself up to possible security breaches, just to have some whiz bang feature.
3.) Outdated. Why would I want to run an older OS, just because I'm missing one or two features? Seems pointless.

That said, have fun with it. Some people like to jailbreak and some don't. Seems silly to call someone out for not liking what you like.
