Think ApplePay. Do you really want to use ApplePay with a jailbroken phone?? Do you want some guy in his basement in Romania putting his apps on you phone that's tied to your bank account. 'nuff said.

I *think* Apple Pay would be secure enough that there wouldn't be security concerns even with a Jailbroken phone (although Apple may well take steps to make sure that you can't use it with one).

I personally can't wait for iOS 8 JB

For one, LET ME place my icons where I want Apple - Home Screen Designer is a killer JB tweak

I totally agree with you about free-rearrangement of icons being a killer feature, AND I have great news for you. There's a non-jailbreak hack that lets you do it!

http://iempty.tooliphone.net/

1. Go into jiggle-icon-move mode, swipe over to the last page which has zero icons on it, and take a screenshot of it.

2. Go to this website - http://iempty.tooliphone.net/ - click "customize", then "CUSTOM mode" (or "modify" if you've used this website before) then "Add", "choose file" and upload your screenshot.

3. Click on the icon grid space where you want an invisible icon to be placed, then click safari's bookmark icon and choose "add to homescreen".

4. Go into jiggle-mode and move the new icon to its proper location.

Viola! You can now place app icons in any arrangement you want!

Pro tip: use a solid grey background image, that way you can easily duplicate the invisible icon and move them around at random without having to struggle to get all the correct-imaged icons into their correct locations.

Yeah Apple Pay is very likely not going to work with a jailbroken device, would not surprise me one bit!
But for me, if I still had my iPhone 6+ I would definitely need it to be jailbroken.... iOS is far too restricting and if not using Apple Pay was the price to pay then so be it!!

Few reasons; mostly due to the fact that if I want to access my work email account I can't do it. Plus I do t have the time to research it and keep chasing after each update.

While I know it supposedly has a slew of features not available in iOS, I dont know exactly what those are and don't care much for them. That's why I donr JB

After upgrading my first two iPhones phones (3g & 4), I decided to stop jailbreaking because I would resist upgrading my OS because I would need to re-jailbreak and re-install all my apps again. Such a pain in the arse. This meant I was more prone to any potential exploits.

Your OP asked people "why don't you jailbreak" -- they gave you answers.

You don't seem to have a genuine interest in why others don't jailbreak. You seem far more interested in repeating the same 7 points over and over and simply arguing with people.

No, I have interest in why others don't jailbreak, but many of the reasons stated completely ignore my points.

To me the point of the iPhone is the user experience Apple crafted; they deliver a comprehensive streamlined product. Jailbreaking defeats the entire purpose in my opinion.

No they don't. You just don't like the answers.

No, saying "stock iOS works fine for me" or "I'm fine without a jailbreak" does not at least acknowledge the possility that these tweaks make your phone more efficient.

These shortcuts/ enhancements cannot be denied.

I don't really care about any of those. I stopped jailbreaking my devices when iPhone 4 came out. I just stopped caring about the JB stuff and I cared more about being on the most recent upgrade of my OS.

Now, there's nothing that is "enhanced" about JB that I care about enough to bother. At all.

Nobody said that those tweaks would not make the phone potentially more efficient. I think most people just said that they didn't care about those particular enhancements/features enough to be fussed about jailbreaking.

Why isn't that a reasonable answer?

I've tried all of the tweaks you listed. I didn't like them. Therefore, your argument is invalid based on that. Not everyone thinks the same as you do, OP. The sooner you realize that, the sooner you'll have an easier time in this world. I suspect you must be in high school still. You have a lot of learning to do.

I will, however, jailbreak when one is released for iOS 8 for- tethering, folder closer, the tweak that lets you dock up to four apps behind another app and a few other tweaks.

I did once in the past with an iPod touch. Was fun to do but lost quick interesst in it. Sure, SSH into the device was cool, but finally: why ?
If I want to tinker around with shell I can use one if my linux virtual machines much easier.

And finally: security & ability to install easier all the beta versions from iOS
That's valid for my private iPads. My iPhone is company and they would remote wipe me if I jb and kick my ... You know what.

As for security I also might never install a custom keyboard. Sure, I saw the one with automatic translation. Cool idea. But if I'm not careful I might end up sending my web passwords or credit card over the network to some "translation" servers ... Not cool.
So yeah, security and privacy concerns keeping me in :apple: stock-mode.

Same reasons valid for my Android Nexus 7 tablet.

I went from iPhone 5 jailbroken to Galaxy S4 to iPhone 6. My iPad has been jb for the last 2 years. For my iPhone, I think the only thing I want from jailbreaking would be copic so I can have pictures in my text message thread list. It is REALLY annoying to me that apple only allows is it arbitrarily in the 6+.

I won't jailbreak my next iPad. Just nothing I want anymore from it and I lose security and stability.

The only other thing I would like would be able to change is default programs (I hate Apple maps), but even if you make Google your default maps, Apple made it so it doesn't show on the lock screen at all. Stupid.

Tweaks I miss from jailbreaking:

1) The ability to put in a password in order to turn off your phone (great to make sure no one can take your phone and take it off the map)

2) Audio Recorder - I like to record my audio when I talk to companies like AT&T, etc so when their CSRs say something, I can use it as proof if they try to tell me otherwise. I always tell them I will be recording the conversation as well

3) iCaughtU - Just like #1, if someone tries to put in my passcode incorrectly, my phone takes a photo of them and emails me their location and their picture (great for security reasons as well)

4) Intelliscreen X - It's like the current notification center, but it a lot of awesome things you can do

5) Mail Enchancer Pro - Makes the Mail app usable!

6) VideoPane - Like having a picture in picture. Watch a video while you're doing something else on your phone or iPad

7) Push for Gmail - Don't need the gmail app anymore

8) Adblocker - for obvious reasons

9) Apex 2 - great for organizing similar apps (like combining the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL apps together)

There is also a tweak where you can disable various toggles in Control Center (for example: you can disable the ability to toggle on/off airplane mode/WiFi/data from the lockscreen)

If the iOS 8 jailbreak proves to be stable, I will jailbreak.

I think you grow out of it over time as the phone becomes more important to you. I love to tinker but I'd rather have all the security updates and stability of the latest OS. The phone it just too important for that stuff.

Ding ding ding. I remember making custom ROM's with Treo's and Windows Mobile. By the time I got to iPhone, I really want the phones to just work. Security and stability. I have another job, I don't need tweaking and repairing the phone to be a time drain.

Many companies don't allow jailbroken devices. The system will detect the jailbroken device and not allow email to be sent to the phone. Which is a problem for a smartphone. :) There's also the security implications of jailbreaking. You can set a stupid root password and install applications that open all sorts of ports on your phone, then all of a sudden, your phone is very insecure.

Stock OS sucks so bad and crashes 90% of the time. would not own a Idevice without a jailbreak, therefore i jaibreak any and all jailbreakable Ios

Several people's responses basically said that they wouldn't improve the experience at all

What didn't you like about them? I'm perfectly open to different tastes but several of those tweaks are objectively easier and more efficient.

This TH55 guy is funny. I love when people try to tell others what is better when they have no idea what someone else's preferences and life situation is. Then when they tell them they still try and force it on them. Classic.

What are you talking about? I accept people's reasons, it's just the few who simply replied with generic "I don't need to" responses not even acknowledging the long post I took the time to write.

I don't have interest in jailbreaking because, if I wanted all that customization, plus the instability, I would get an android phone. I like how smooth, and stable (most of the time) iOS is. Also, if I attempted to jailbreak my iPhone, I would probably brick it.
