I've run a 6s for two years and want an upgrade. I traditionally have bought S models and waited for the more "refined" version of the newer iPhone. This year has thrown me off with the delayed availability of the X, the price increase for the 8 and the price cut for the 7 (which is still good). I go back and forth between all three options; I've recently thought about just waiting for the X, but I don't like beta testing new iPhone builds, and I want to buy the better version of the phone a year from now.

What are you guys thinking?

Not a 6s Owner, but a 6 owner. I'm not sure now. I think the 8 might last me 4 to 5 years the 7 might last 2-3 years. Once is cheaper than the other and only one offers 128 gb. I'm not sure.

8 Plus all the way. The X just doesn't appeal to me at all. I can't get past the ugly notch design. Also, face ID seems unpredictable and slower than touch ID since it's a two step process (look at phone, then swipe up) vs. just pressing the home button for touch ID. Also, call me old fashioned, but I prefer a home button over unwieldy gestures. It's just far more intuitive.

I don’t think, and have heard others say, that Apple wants many to buy the X. AC+ is $200..that’s nuts. I don’t think they have supply for ‘masses’-level iPhone numbers for the X. I am not impressed with X. May get 8+ for camera in 6 months or so.

I sold my phone yesterday (Private, was lucky to sell it for a good price) thinking I could go a week and a half without a phone, it'll be quite liberating! But.... I kind of want the X, not sure I can hold out until 03/11 unless I find someone to lend me their spare handset.

Probably keeping the 6s. The iPhone X is close in size to the plus models and not the smaller model. Too big for me. And the 8 isn't a big difference unless you play games.

I get a free upgrade through work so I will get the 8. The X would cost me the difference and frankly it doesn't have any extra features, and removes one of the best features at the moment. I have a 6 right now but it is slow and freezes. I really just want a 6s with improved processor, but since the 8 has wireless charging I can once again listen to music and charge at the same time. The 8 should last at least 2-3 years without any issues and by then hopefully they will have an iPhone x without the stupid notch and touchID.

It's clear phone have stopped improving measurably each year, so I just want to get something that works and will be future proofed for a few years. I would consider the x but I'm not going to f*** around with the face nonsense and I would get a 6s but I don't want it to start slowing down in 18 months and I end up needing to drop another grand just to get a working phone. I honestly don't think iPhones are even that great anymore I just don't switch because of iMessages and the other apple products I have (love the watch!)

I'm a 6s Plus owner and I'm at a complete loss. I was really looking forward to upgrading to the iPhone X, but the delayed release, storage sizes and the associated price points are making me seriously consider the 8 Plus. My 6s Plus is the 64GB version and I am running low on space; as such, I was really hoping that the X would come in a 128GB capacity at a lower price point.

I could get either the 256GB 8 Plus ($950 is way too much for a phone whose design is 4 generations old, despite the upgraded internals), or I could get the 64GB X for $50 more. I could probably make the 64GB work, but I'd rather not worry about having to delete things to make sure that I have enough space. $1,149 (the price of the 256GB X) is an unrealistic price for a phone, regardless of what it does. I'll mull it over for the next couple of days. First world problems, I guess!

6s+ here... I was really planning to get the X because I want the bigger screen in a smaller body... but now I'm not so sure. For $1000, not sure the upgrade is worth it. I'm wondering if they have given up putting the Touch ID under the screen, or we will see it in next year's model. I think I would like the option. And of course I have to give up the headphone port... undecided as of now...

6s currently. I'm leaning towards upgrading to the 8+. Two most important things for me is getting the dual cameras and having at least 64 GB of storage. I thought about just getting the 7+, but I can't deal with 32 GB, and 128 GB is actually more than I'd really need with all the cloud storage I use. So either I get a 7+ with more storage than I need and save $30, or I get an 8+ with the perfect amount of storage for me plus the extra little features of the 8 over the 7. Seems like the 8+ makes the most sense.

Or I could just stick with the 6s for a while longer. It's plenty good enough as it is.

carrier contract is up this december so probably going to trade in my 6s for an 8. the + models are way too big for my tiny ass hands (which is unfortunate because i want the portrait fanciness), not crazy about the x only having faceID or the price point, and the 7 isn't much of an 'upgrade' from a 6s that i've already had for two years. may keep my current phone since it's still in perfect condition depending on carrier pricing/trade-in value but i'm itching to upgrade something and a phone is definitely cheaper than a new macbook pro.

I'm likely keeping my 6s.

I was considering a switch to the S8+ to save a few bucks but there are some things I really like about iOS over Android.

I was not all that excited by what Apple announced today. Sure, the iPhone 8 offers a nice improvement but not likely enough to make me want to switch. I don't think the X is worth the price. I suspect that buying the iPhone X will be like the first Apple Watch buyers in that some things will be bumpy. Likely a much better upgrade next year.

Height: X is 0.2" taller than 8, and 0.59" smaller than 8+. Closer to the smaller model.
X: 5.65"
8: 5.45"
8+: 6.24"

Width: X is 0.14" wider than 8 and 0.38" narrower than the 8+. Closer to the smaller model.
X: 2.79"
8: 2.65"
8+: 3.07"

Weight: X is 0.92 oz heavier than 8, and 0.99 oz lighter than the 8+. Closer to the smaller model.
X: 6.14 oz
8: 5.22 oz
8+: 7.13 oz

Sticking with my 6s. $1000 is just way to much for a phone. I'll just buy a used one in Craigslist next year when the iPhone xs or whatever they want to call it releases. Plus the big form factor is unattractive to me. I need 2 hands just to get to the top right for the control panel, LIKE NOOOO!!!

I just keep it short:
Headphone jack: 6s Plus over X.
Touch ID: 6s Plus over X.
Power: X over 6s Plus.
Price: 6s Plus over X.
I am pretty sure I won’t give up 6s Plus and plan to use it a few more years if not even longer. X is just too expensive even though it is more powerful than 6s Plus.

i'm not really sure yet, but I'm guessing iPhone X. I've been using a iPad Mini 4 for on-call work when on the go; if that form factor is truly going away, I'll probably want the extra screen real estate at some point, but I want the phone to still be pocketable.

It seems that I have a month or two to sort it out, so I have that going for me, which is nice.

Think about it this way when you look at the X:

1) You get all of the iPhone 8+ features in the form factor very close to an iPhone 8. This means you get 21 hours of battery life with that large display instead of 14 on the normal 8. Remember the phones have increased in weight significantly compared to the 6's we know of, so the 8+ will feel much heavier than the 6+, let alone the 6.

2) You get dual optical image stabilization, so both front and rear cameras have OIS unlike the 8+ which just has one.

3) You get full-sized OLED display.

4) You get Face ID and Animojis! Your friends will envy you and you will have bragging rights.

5) All of the above costs $300 more than the maxed out 8 model.

The only thing your missing out on is Touch ID.

iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone X.

My 6S Plus is getting a bit long in the tooth and I really want 256GB of storage.

Maybe I should have just gotten the 7 Plus when 256GB was an option.

6s plus now, I really really wanted to upgrade, but the added features are just not for me. but this more peak iPhone then anything else, the 6s plus is still amazing.

I upgraded every year since the 3gs, but there was always reasons for me to upgrade until the 7. Every year, even s years, I just felt compelled to upgrade with new larger screens, retina was huge, camera upgrades on s models with jumps in resolution not just software features, TouchID was huge, force touch was great.

That brings us to this.
No bezel, edge to edge, looks nice..I like it, outside of the top, but it’s not huge.
FaceId is cool but for my needs TouchID is better or just the same.
AR right now is new, plus I have AR with my 6plus just not added sensors.
OLED, I’ve seen them, they don’t blow me away like retina did.
Oh animated emoji, never would use it.
Wireless charging, ok?

Am I missing something? And the 8...if I went 8 I would feel like I’m buying and old model for more money.

I’ll put my money in upgrading my watch, so Apple is still getting some of my money:D
