Well my iPhone 6S+ battery has failed today in that it will not hold a charge unless plugged into the power. If I unplug it the battery plummets down literally before my eyes.
If I had a 6S and battery was the only issue with the phone, I'd actually strongly consider a $50-100 battery replacement instead of buying a new iPhone.Well my iPhone 6S+ battery has failed today in that it will not hold a charge unless plugged into the power. How long does that take as I need a phone at all times for family reasons? If I had a 6S and battery was the only issue with the phone, I'd actually strongly consider a $50-100 battery replacement instead of buying a new iPhone.
I have the 6S+ and it gets heavy if I'm on it to long. I skipped upgrading to the 7 series thinking the 10th anniversary would be my upgrade, but now the 8+ is even heavier, and the 10 with the notch, smaller viewable screen and price is a pass! I'm seriously thinking of getting the reg 8 and waiting to see what next year has to bring.
I got a 7+ Product Red 128gb instead. Weighs less than 6S+ & 8+, is a gorgeous color, less money, perfect GB size, still on iOS 10, limited edition (discontuing) and I didn't want to give up the 1080p larger screen. Will hand down the 6S+ to my son. We will see how goesThat’s what I’m going to do. Hold onto the 8 and see what next year brings. Worst case I sell my 8 after having it for one year and then I can upgrade to the 2018 model.
There are several models of which I'm an early adopter because the new features appeal to me (e.g. retina display, TouchID). The heavier reliance of iPhone X on gestures doesn't appeal to me at the moment and neither does the "look-at-me, look-at-me" notch. In this case, I'm more than happy to wait for bugs to get ironed out. This is a super interesting poll, even if it's not scientific at all. Presumably, you folks are not early adopters of the newest Apple stuff. Interesting to see how many people would go for the 8/8+ over the X.
I replaced my battery last week on my 6S+ and returned the 8+. I wiped it clean did a fresh install of 11.02 and 6s+ runs great now. No lag or battery running to empty in half a day now easily I get 8 hours a day on LTE with screen on. No reason for me to have the 8. Will wait till next year to see if they come out with X+. Replace the battery for 100 bucks and save the other 900 for next years iPhone +.Well my iPhone 6S+ battery has failed today in that it will not hold a charge unless plugged into the power. Next year is probably the only year I actually want an 'S' model. This year seems too much of a prototype.
Maybe half an hour to an hour? Sounds like there might be something else wrong with your phone, though. How long does that take as I need a phone at all times for family reasons?
I wonder if there is something else going on as my phone will not let me turn on mobile data. Keeps switching it off when I turn it on?

Lol, my iPhone history is:I usually love newer tech but not this time around. I might have felt different about upgrading if the reduced bezels meant a smaller handset overall in comparison to the 4.7 inch phones we have now. Also I'm not keen on operating my phone using only gestures with no home button. While I don't care for the notch at all, I could perhaps get over that in timel Also I prefer touch ID.
My iphone history is 4s, 6, SE (for 3 days) then a 6s.. I was planning to upgrade this year but will hang tight.

I was actually looking forward to the X originally simply because it's the 10th anniversary phone. Alas, wasn't a huge fan of what I saw in the keynote. Had the iPhone 8/8+ incorporated FaceID tech in addition to TouchID (maybe on 256GB models only and increase the price gap?), though, I might have upgraded to that.
Well said... totally agree.
Regarding the poll... I already upgraded from the 6s Plus to the 8 Plus. The battery life was beyond horrid on my old phone... not holding a charge but for 4-5 hours at a time.
Sure, I could have replaced it... but Verizon gave me $275 for it in trade which for a 2 year old phone (with a dying ear speaker that forced me to bluetooth my calls) is a good offer and I jumped on it.
No complaints here... even though it's just a hardware bump the 8 Plus is still an amazing upgrade.
I had an iPhone 6S, but came across a flawless 4 month old iPhone 7 Plus 128GB black on Craigslist for 500 which include a Zagg glass screen protector and original items. I just couldn't pass it up.
