Unpopular opinion within this site probably, but he should never have fired Scott Forstall, one of the biggest mistakes he’s made during his 10 year tenure. Personal UI tastes aside, software quality control has declined and has never been the same since iOS 6. Same for macOS too.

So Apple’s idiocy in the last ten years is not right or wrong, just ambiguous and in a “gray area”?
Yes,
Is that how you are defending product design failures and other blunders? Remember when Steve Jobs ripped people new #$&&$#@ over MobileMe?
I don't have to defend anything. It's not as if Apple is dying on the vine and we are doing a post-mortem. It's the other way around that those who can't grasp why Apple is doing so well have to defend their point of view.

To those saying Apple's quality control has tanked under Tim Cook...

Also, Jobs believed that the GeForce 320 offered "killer graphics"...

Sure, with Tim has made Apple a lot of money and released a number of products, but Apple has lost something. Their product line is bloated like it was in the early 90s. Their products and keynotes don’t have the same excitement they once did when Steve was there. Times have changed and technology is now mainstream, so Apple will probably still be a strong company and not almost go under like in the 90s. But imagine how much better the products could be if Tim had/showed the passion that Steve had?

10 years since Apple changed its policy from ''I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong. I'm going to destroy Android, because it's a stolen product. I'm willing to go thermonuclear war on this.''' to just releasing almost the same iPhone every year to keep shareholders happy...
There always gotta be one of these guys….always

Deends on how you define “doing well”. You can make tons of $$$$ and still pump out crap.

Oh yes. Do diminish the incompetence. If it were Microsoft, we’d never hear the end of it.

Seriously? I don't have the time to give two trucks about what Microsoft is doing. That would be stupid. As an aside, I hope they're doing great.

And you're the arbiter of what's garbage? That's a real hoot and knee-slapper!

The Apple Pencil 1 is garbage. A wireless mouse with the charging port on the underbelly side is garbage. A laptop with no ports because it “looks nicer” and is “thinner“ and forces you to use dongles is garbage. And no, sales figures are not an indication of greatness.

At least this thread is giving some purpose to some users to show off how much they hate Apple. Gives them something to do with their lives. I guess they could/should thank Tim Cook for that. :p

Wow, I am a little surprised by the amount of overall negativity toward this story. I knew not everyone was a big fan of Tim Cook but I didn't expect this level of hostility / sniping at him. While I can't agree with the earlier comment that he is "the best CEO" in America today, I would still put him near the top. Congrats Tim!

According to the rancid comments section here on MacRumors 10 years ago, Apple should have been closed down by now. Reading through these comments even today you still see the huge anti-Apple crowd here.

It has always amazed me how many Apple haters go out of their way to come troll an Apple-centric website. Is it really that much fun? I don't know...like, I have no desire at all to go to an Android or Windows centric website to **** all over their stories, why would I?

lol people who thinks jobs didn't make mistakes forgets all about antennagate. Apple customers are more loyal than ever, buying more devices than ever. People can cry all they want on an internet forum but you clearly are in the minority. Sorry. Apple under Tim Cook reached more people than Jobs ever did. But it's not a competition. Jobs fingerprints are all over apple.

Because the Apple “shine” which Tim Crook has steadily worn down since he has been in charge, has finally worn off.

Apple definitely has its problems but there's a reason why I give it my $. If that makes me a sheep in people's eyes, ok - but it works for me. I don't think Apple is infallible but I'm not ignorant enough to think it isn't doing some things well enough to attract the customer base it has. Could it do better? Hell yeah. That's what makes us human - we're all imperfect - hopefully striving to be better.

One of Jobs's biggest mistakes was naming this woke joker CEO. He's completely demolished everything that made Apple the great company it once was.
Your tagline is 'I didn't leave Apple Inc, Apple Inc left me.' Maybe think about leaving MacRumors too? If you really left Apple (or they left you as you say), then why do you waste your time rehashing this? Go live your best life and leave this all behind. Go to those calm waters and live a stress-free life, far away from anything Apple related. It's ok.
