I took this more as “it’s almost 10 years since Apple lost Steve”

Tim has done right by the shareholders, but other than the HomePod they have not taken any risks. Before you bring up the M1, P.A semi was acquired under jobs.

I do agree with a previous comment it’s hard to innovate on such a vast scale. Like when Steve demanded glass front on iPhone, but let’s be real Tim is a bean counter.

A third-class accountant who is destroying Jobs's legacy. Now Apple is neither a design nor a hi-tech company. Cook transform a huge tech giant into old school financial dodgy corporation. Make customers happy not the yuppies.

Hundreds of millions of customers will never have 100% satisfaction. If you’re not aware of apples recent performance it seems many, many customers are happy.

If so, he’s destroying it very, very slowly through a strategy of first making Apple the most successful company in American history.

As far as how Apple is “old school”, and why yuppies aren’t customers, you’ll have to fill in some detail….

Changing a billion devices to a new file system overnight was a risk.

Changing their entire system architecture was a risk.

PA semiconductor didn’t design M1, and Steve Jobs didn’t buy them to make Mac chips.

I loved watching Steve Jobs doing the special events. He loved Apple and his enthusiasm showed.
10+ years ago I was using my 2007 iMac (avatar).
I have yet to purchase anything since from Apple so I can't speak out regarding Tim Cook.
I prefer not spending premium monies, so I end up with so-so products that do the job.
In reading about Windows 11, MS wants to make it terribly difficult to use a browser other than Edge.
I have more respect for Tim Cook than most of the other fat cat CEOs out there.
My privacy matters and Tim seems to be the only one who gets that.

The bottom line for me as an Apple investor and as an Apple product owner is: the stock is up by 1,014% under Cook. Revenue is up by 154%. Market capitalization has increased by $346 billion to $2.473 Trillion which is number one on the planet. Apple's net cash position is $72 billion and Apple has paid $103 billion in dividends. All of my Apple product purchases are paid for by Apple through quarterly dividends. Yeah, like Apple's Board of Directors who keep rewarding Cook performance based incentive bonuses, I'm happy with Tim Cook.

You're looking at just stock price? Apple is rated at $2.08 trillion in market capitalization. They made $65.34 billion dollars in 2020. Apple has split its stocks 5 times since it started with the last one being in 2020.
Are used voice to text and completely scrub the first part of my message which I’m trying to remember but yes I was talking about Apple even with his evaluation of being $2.5 trillion company why is it the dollar of the stuff out so low compared to googles even if we factory in the stock splits overtime, And available stock and total stock.

Your tagline is 'I didn't leave Apple Inc, Apple Inc left me.' Maybe think about leaving MacRumors too? If you really left Apple (or they left you as you say), then why do you waste your time rehashing this? Go live your best life and leave this all behind. Go to those calm waters and live a stress-free life, far away from anything Apple related. It's ok.
It's OK to criticize companies. Even more so if you buy their products and are invested into their ecosystem.

It's not a persoanl attack on you because you like Apple.

Tim is another example of Steve Jobs masterstroke when it came to choosing the right people for the right job. From his early days as the supply chain guru then being chosen as the CEO, that wasn't spontaneity. I am sure Steve was thinking years back in advance would lead the company if he wasn't able to. I won't be selling my Apple stock until Tim steps down. I suspect that's gonna be the end of the decade.
Please tell me how great successes of the new hires under Tim Cook versus Steve Jobs?
I feel the only main difference that Tim Cook made in a hiring person is the chief of environmental initiatives, Lisa, and the firing of Forstall.

all big level execs have been there before Tim joined.
the one he’s hired from Google, Giannopolis I think, head eve lotion of Siri & AI …. Lol
1st year acquire shortcuts & integrate. It mimics AppleScript heavily! Not as powerful.
2nd year clearer voice responses, arguable better detection of accents in some/not others.
this is NOT AI work being done here but this exec is getting big dollars etc yet we’re not seeing significant Siri improvements across the board that all users can appreciate.

I'm not immersed in the Apple Culture like some of y'all, but have liked (did like?) many of their products over the last four years.

Accomplishments During TC's Tenure
  • Apple Watch - Arguably the best smart watch ever
  • M1 Processor - In a world long-dominated by Intel
  • iPhone SE (2020) - Finally, an affordable iPhone!
  • Apple TV - IME the best streamer on the market, bar none
  • Apple Pay - No longer use it, but it was great while I did
  • Apple Card - Same as above
Missteps
  • The Great Battery Scandal - engendered distrust in Apple
  • Failing to put iTunes out of its, and our, misery
  • On-Device CSAM scanning
Mixed
  • AirPods - Just "ok" in my book (fitment issues)
  • Lightning connector - really wish they'd waited for USB 3

Why do you no longer use ApplePay?

I think the parts you mentioned as missteps are common as there is no company that is perfect and nobody here so far that I have read has stated that Apple hasn't made a single mistake. Overall Apple has offered a great deal more to the tech industry than any other tech competitor. Much of other company's output of products continue to be half-baked such as Windows on ARM and the Windows Store. Samsung's foldable nonsense is very half-baked. Your list of missteps was fair but there's not a single company on earth without scandal. With that being said there is some trolling going on with others who hate Apple and can't seem to stop saying it. 😂
