Because he was basically fruitarian. Which is a death sentence on its own. Where do you think company name comes from.
Pancreatic cancer killed him. Its a killer with low survival rates. You haters, always try to discredit what he accomplished. I guess it makes your sad life a bit more bearable.

Where do you think company name comes from.

Steve passed away so young. Very sad.

Congrats to MR. Have been following them since 2002 but only joined in 2005. I used to use Appleinsider a lot but with time changed to MR. I think this is the best source for Apple news and rumors.

His vision exceeded the limits of technology by at least a decade at every turn. Like most people who were visionaries in technology and conceptual design, his ability in the realm of interpersonal relationships was often lacking. Everyone has their own set of skills and abilities. I can barely do arithmetic, but am blessed with skills in the written and spoken word.

He found the best way to make the most of his abilities in an abbreviated amount of time. An achievement that eludes the bulk of humanity.

Can anybody give me one example on how Steve Jobs made the world a better place?
No doubt technology can improve people’s life, but I’m not sure he (or Apple) did anything that made a positive difference in our world. More than ever people are addicted to their smart phones.

I love Steve and MacRumors! Both equally legendary contributors to society!

The computer industry – and hence the whole world that has been and still is computerized in all possible ways – should be eternally thankful that at least one person that made an impact in this field was not a nerd and/or sociopath like almost all the others. Jobs cared about the perfect machine(s) he tried to create, but just as much about the consequences for society. His view of the world was much, much grander than that of a typical computer/tech nerd, owing to his hippie/counter-culture roots of the late 70s. A bicycle for the mind, a man, and a company, standing at the intersection of technology and liberal arts. All Gates ever cared about was the money. All Page and Brin and Zuckerberg care about is sucking every last bit of data out of everyone and everything to sell their ads. If you don‘t understand that the recent lionization of pivacy (and health) as core values/goals of Apple are exactly what Jobs would be all about if he lived to see this new dawn of mass surveillance, you have never understood the man or the company and probably never will.

Happy Birthday Steve. I’m glad you’re not around to see what your successor turned your once-great company into.

Apple really needs to stop stoking this cult of personality... Jobs did great things for Apple, no doubt, and his friends obviously thought highly of him, but the deification isn't good for anyone or the company.

Same day as me!)
Steve was controversial person but genius manager! If only he was still alive, apple won`t be such a disaster as it is now!

And he, in turn, can say you just want to point out your incredible knowledge of what you think is "obvious to everyone" about another person. You guys can continue to bicker back and forth about who knew what, who did what, or who has a better understanding of what Steve Jobs' actual engineering depth was. Bottom line, nobody gives a crap, SJ is dead, and none of it matters or has any enduring effect on any future stories here.
1. You interpreted an ancient knowledge as an incredible knowledge which is so far off.
2. You jumped into this that has nothing to do with you. Almost like you’re his guardian or something.
3. If nobody give a crap, then this whole article shouldn’t exist.
4. Unless Apple is gone for good, SJ will always be mentioned.

You’re hurt.

That’s ok.

Steve remains 16 years younger than me, to the day, every year. I wonder how Steve would have reacted to being 80...
