Also managed to get an AT&T device only SG 64GB plus today in NYC.

Activated it over WiFi with my EE (UK) SIM.

Thanks iStockNow. Didn't use an alert, but a useful way to see availability none-the-less.

Curious, if the device ever needs to be replaced in London, is there an issue as you have a US spec'd model which is technically different to ones sold in UK (but practically the same).? Since they dont sell the identical unit in UK

This is crazy to me, has anyone else experienced this.

The full price phone I want is available for personal pick up - however ordering online you get charged a $30 upgrade fee and you have to change your service plan with verizon.

If you "walk in" and buy a phone neither the upgrade fee or service plan change is required.

However, the personal pick up through the site has a different inventory than the store inventory. So I can't "walk in" and buy the phone I want without doing the personal pick up through the site and getting charged the fees...

What a coincidence. I JUST NOW noticed this on my receipt! Can anyone please help explain if this is right?! I preordered a 6 as an upgrade and then purchased this 6+ on 10/2 for full retail via apple.com reservation. Take a look at the pictures. I paid full retail and was charged a 30 upgrade fee AND it says a 2 year contract commitment on the receipt. I'm slightly confused here. I have returned the preordered 6 and been given a refund, but I'm waiting on my contract extension to return to month to month and my upgrade eligibility to return. This stuff really doesn't add up on the receipt.

Seems like getting any unlocked iPhone 6 in the Chicagoland area is a battle. Whenever I get an iStocknow email notification, I jump on my computer within seconds but by the time I check out, I get an error. I attempt to recheck out and it's tells me it's unavailable. It's like Apple has only 1 or something x__x Anyone successful in Chicago just going into an Apple store and purchasing an unlocked 6 in a 64gb in space grey or gold?

Had the same thing happen with the naperville and oak brook stores. Maybe try calling the store first when you see it?

I did score a 64g sg 6+ from madison wis apple store today

Thanks Istocknow!!!!!

So I'm trying to score a 64gb 6+ (any color, gold preferable) in Austin, TX. I already have alerts set up on istocknow. Is there anything else I can do/should be doing/general strategies I can employ?

Thanks!

they seem to restock around about 1 am and 1 pm. cst. so be ready.

This maybe a good thread to ask in...

Has anyone created a new VZW UDP with in store pick up successfully activated it in the past few days?

So can you check out online and pick up in store or do you just reserve it and finish transaction in store? Is the Apple Store app still the fastest way to see stock appear?

Tonight 1am order online for in store pickup Saturday

You pay online and pick up in store. That is why my post a few above was made bc I have questions about this method now. I was charged an upgrade fee on a full retail order and what looks like a 2 year commitment for full retail lol. Hope someone can chime in.

Finally a success story. Rancho Cuca, CA. I wanted to trade an iphone 6 for a 6+. Would've preferred the black, but only the silver unlocked was available. I jumpted on it and the Genius exchanged it even though I was 18 days in the hole.

How was it an exchange? Did they make you return and rebuy? Or did they do it as warranty exchange and They gave you a new phone?

I want to thank the istocknow guy for setting this up. Due to the alert feature, I was able to finally score a 64 plus SG from my Anchorage Apple Store.

I gave up on getting an iPhone 6 from Apple at full price. Bought a brand-new Verizon iPhone 6 space gray 64 GB from swappa.

I know I am taking a risk but the guy who selling it seems to be legitimate.

I paid with my PayPal account so I'm protected in case of any fraud.

I am not going to play Apples hide and seek game anymore.

I will get the phone in 24 hours. I paid 790$ in total. Still cheaper than paying Apple with CA sales tax.

Swappa is a good place from what I know. I sell on there and have bought on there, too. I would suggest it before eBay.

What a night.

Reserved a phone for pickup 40 miles away from me in Santa Monica, drove there and everything was going fine.

That was until I tried rebuying the phone on my line as a next plan, and their system could not contact ATT to pull up the account info. Was there for an hour and a half, and after calling two att reps they could not get it to work properly.

Long story short, they are holding my phone for me, and calling me in the morning when everything is fixed, so i can go pick it up, and that will be another 80 mile round trip.

They are giving me a free case which is awesome, but man I was so close to my phone, yet so far away

There really is no particular time for updates as I've noticed for the Memphis location. It just appears to be rather random. Just set the alert and also check the app or site as often as you feel the need. The alerts have been kind of delayed from my experience, but still quick enough to get you a phone if you get at it! Haha

Good luck! I had the same issue with next, just paid outright for device only to avoid wasting more time at Apple. Walked out happy but man was my wallet emptied

It had nothing to do with next or anything.

They literally just couldnt pull the account info up. We never even got to the point where i chose a 2 year contract or next.... something was up on ATTs side. Sucks because it is so far

If any of you guys reading the thread right now could scroll back and find my post with the pictures of the online receipt and give me any rationale on why I am being charged an upgrade fee and 2 year commitment on a full price phone I would definitely appreciate it. Seems another member had some thing similar happen and I quoted his post, as well. Details are in that post. Just trying to reference it as this thread is moving pretty quick.

the apple rep told me its the only way to do it for personal pickup which was the whole thesis of my post earlier. she suggested I could fight it with verizon and should win but verizon seems to care very little about making anyone happy in my recent experiences. the contract should be the same but who knows with verizon.

the personal pickup thing is a joke to me though, I can

a. pay fees I shouldnt have to pay and be guaranteed the phone or,
b. spend 15-20 minutes on the phone to get someone in the store and then hope the phone is still there by the time i drive 30-40 minutes each way to and from the store.

oh and the inventories aren't even the same. the store 40 minutes from me had one for personal pick up but not for a walk in.

i realize this phone is hot but its crazy to me how little any of these reps seem to care that you are spending $750-$1000 on a phone...it should not be this hard to spend so much money. when i worked retail i would be kissing someones shoes if they were spending that kind of money

Not sure. What page are you refreshing? I'm gonna guess nothing tonight since earlier was huge. Who knows.

im refreshing istocknow, continually checking availability on apple.com and also i keep tapping on the available for pickup section to in the Apple store iPhone app to (hopefully) refresh it... should i be doing something different?

Thanks to istocknow

I finally got my unicorn of an iPhone, a 6+ 64GB on VZW on the US West Coast. It was over 100 miles away. But, it's now mine, all mine!
