FYI.

Those of you who bought a 2-year contract and wanna change at the store can't. They have to cancel the phone and as soon as that happens the phone goes to the next person. You can't buy it at that point. I asked and that's what they told me

No haha otherwise you're just asking the store to hold a phone for you with no guarantee. Gotta put in a credit card... so they have something to charge in order to RESERVE the phone for YOU

Funny thing is, I'm on Verizon. So when I went through the whole process for a new 2 year contract, I was able to select the $29.99 Unlimited plan. I'm doing that.

I picked up my order from around 3 AM at the Soho store this morning (around 10:45). Got a space grey 64 gig AT&T. The normal line was insane! The reservation line was about 45 minutes though

You can do 2 year agreement and change to next plan in store. In store and rep is doing it now.

In my experience with my MBP they gave a 7 day time window. I don't know if iPhones are the same way but your "your order is ready" email should tell you.

unfortunately it doesn't say. thanks for the feedback though. it only says it's ready and what to bring. gonna try to call when the conference goes on a break

Just got my iphone AT&T in-store walk in (reg. - not the plus). Didn't want to wait or mess with online again. Successfully cancelled my pre-order premier online but my current att-next installment plan at AT&T corp. store said may take 3 days to fix to reset my eligibility. I decided to just buy with no contract...rep at store said no additional line needed and I can keep my phone and continue att-next payments or return to stop payments (All because bought with no contract).
I decided to not get the iPhone 6 plus. Delaware AT&T corp. store only had iPhone 6 128 gb models - two silver and five gold. Probably gone now. I got the silver.

I have T-Mobile and ordered Verizon on 2-year contract. When I came in I advised them I wanted to buy it outright. He had to process the order then returned it back to me. Once he did that he simply resold it back to me full price. So YMMV so I would definitely try to see if the store rep can do the same for you all.

What I was told is that it's real-time per store as they get shipments, which can happen at any time.

Not what I was told. They have to cancel the order and then sign you up for Next. I'll find out in the Next hour or so.

Couldnt cancel my ATT order. Even tho my local Apple store had my 6+ in stock until about 11 am.

Called ATT multiple times, chatted, tried online. Order past point of no return - cant cancel.

Try ordering thru Apple online, not available for upgrade (bc of current order). Only choice was add a new line or whole new account - which I wasnt going to do.

So I am waiting until 10/2

Yeah I too got a 16gb for store pickup but I'm contemplating just canceling. I think I need 64gb lol but they're so hard to come by! Especially for T-Mobile space gray.

I wish I could find someone who wants this 16gb plus. I'd let them do the store pickup and enjoy it more than I probably would.

I just got back from picking up a 6 128gb T-Mobile and at about 11:30 they had sold their last plus for the day (not reserved). It looks like the Apple Store had some + that weren't available online. When I looked online to reserve one around 5am there was none available. Yet people in the non reservation line were able to secure one. So it's possible not all of the stock is appearing online to reserve.
