Placed an order for gold AT&T 6 Plus 128GB thru personal pickup at my local Apple Store (Friendly Center/ when I saw it available for pickup as a new acct and paid online for $499 plus tax with 2-year contract. Somehow it went thru and place another order for the same model/color/capacity and got email confirmation that it's ready for pickup for both orders in less than a hour. I called the store and asked if I can switch it from AT&T and get is as a contract free phone at full price. He said it could be done so I went to the Apple store and let them know I am here for a personal pickup and told a rep that I had to order with AT&T contract but want it contract free.

He was obviously new with not much experience so asked other 'experts' how it can be done. It took about 1 hour waiting for everything done for two phones but I'm happy!!

Guess I was very lucky to place an order at the right moment. Thanks guys for sharing info.

Here's the 20 closest stores to DC, looking for stock of any model of 6+:

There just aren't many 6+'s out there right now, as far as Apple's external APIs will reveal. Apparently some make it into stores without hitting publicly facing inventory (some speculation around whether a stock of 1 allows for in-store pickup orders, for instance), so there's always that...

(As an aside, I have learned that Apple has a loose definition of 'nearby' stores)

Best buy in Springfield has shown a 64gb space gray ATT plus in stock for awhile this afternoon. I've been tempted to drive over there

Please advise

I know this has probably been asked, but please humor me. I live in NC so I am EST time zone here. Do I need to be online at 11pm my time, or 11pm Cupertino time? I'm going to start looking for the plus every night for a while, but I don't want to start to early and lose sleep for no reason.

Please advise me. :)

This is my last day doing this for the 6+...otherwise tomorrow trading my limping 5 in for a 6 regular and using it til my note 4 comes in which I used some 10$ phone to get a 200$ rebate. Premier so no upgrade fees and I give my dad the 6 because he is cool. Only thing I think I'll miss is when Apple pay comes out but maybe that wallet deal will turn up with something new.

So they did not charge you for a activation fee or through ATT in any way? Please let me know as i wanted to see if the same was possible in my case. Thanks!

ATT 64GB 6+ is available in Southlake Apple store in DFW area if anyone is looking for it.
I am looking for Space Gray which seems to be an elusive model.

Someone please help... If i sign up for Verizon on a new 2 year plan and do an in store pick up, go there and tell them i want to purchase phone outright without contract, can i do so? Will verizon have any sort of credit check or charge on my account? Thanks!

Anybody in Kansas City looking for 64GB 6+ AT&T? Best Buy has them available. Little too far of a drive for me from Dallas :)

EDIT: Sorry. It was for 6. My bad.

I'm still stunned how bad are the stocks for 6 Plus in US.

That's the kind of refill we get daily in Europe for 3 days (Germany here).

Emails alerts for Us Zip are next on our todo-list.

Would you rather get alerted for any shop in the given zip code or choose only some shops amongst those offered for a given zip ? (am being I clear ?)

Thanks for your help! I guess, most of us would drive at least an hour to get our hands on the exact phone we want. So I am thinking any shop in 50 mile radius of given zip code should be fine.

To have the choice of some shops would be great.

As to the stock. I am really not that surprised. I think that Apple went with the market. Larger phones are much more common and popular in places other than the US. Apple knows this and likely sent much more of the product overseas for this reason. Also, the next wave of countries goes live this Friday. Again I am sure that a lot of production of the 6+ is going for these launches as well. Of course eventually it will all catch up.

Thanks we'll start with the zip, and prepare for an upgrade with stores selection.

what are those stats iStockNow? Especially the zip code information. Is that how many people are searching? or How many iphones in the area?

Thank you!
