I think I'm going to give up on personal pickup and actually go to the store tomorrow morning. The only problem is the website says the store is opening early at 8 AM, but the associate I talked to today said the website is wrong and they're opening at the normal time (10 AM). I'm afraid the lines are going to start much earlier than usual. I'll probably just get there at around 8:30 anyway. I'm not looking for a plus, so I may have some luck.
This is amazing... at the moment there is not an AT&T iPhone 6+ available anywhere in the entire COUNTRY!

Created an account just to contribute what I have found since this thread has been useful in my hunt. Target is getting 6Plus stock in ATT Across the Country. I visited my local Dayton, OH stores and two of the three had 6+ at 7 p.m. this evening. Most are 16gb, but the rep told me deliveries come in throughout the day on Mon, Weds, and Fri so I'll be checking periodically tomorrow. He also said they were ordering more 16 because of poor sales of higher memory units....??? Either way it appears Target has quite a few and Idevicechecker shows the same. Happy Hunting!
EDIT: On a side note, the Target employees I encountered were 1000x more knowledgable and friendly than the Apple reps (Apple has told me 5 different stories about inventory/reservations) and one of them gave me a number to call and directly check with him and another rep at another store throughout the day tomorrow. Hoping today is the day!

From what I've heard, the answer is yes, but I personally have no idea.
If you do want to do that, I know you have to pay full price. Keep in mind also that Best Buy charges a $50 premium for outright phone purchases.
I'll echo this, at least for the west coast. 2 targets by me showed inventory of 6+, called one and the mobile guy was gone but the guy in electronics said they had some and called the other one just now and they said they just sold their last one. Target is the way to go guys. If you are on the west coast i would suggest calling them right now!
So funny, I had to wait 30 mins because the mobile guy was gone at my target too. Once he was back though he was informative and told me that there really hadn't been a frenzy to get the 6+ at the store since launch....It seems Target maybe a secret oasis of 6+ that the scalpers haven't infiltrated.....until this post

And unfortuantely it seems this is on purpose. The rep told me they ordered a lot more 16 gb because they were supposed to be in higher demand. He said they were getting 64 and 128 in every shipment from UPS though... maybe stalk the UPS driver into the Target store! #thestruggle

i use a script that notifies when the inventory is updated but i tried about 13 times last night to get one and it's impossible. someone always grabs it before me.
The phone I wanted (6+, Gold, T-Mobile, 64GB) was available at both Apple Stores near me. By the time I checked out one, it was gone. So I tried checking out with the other store....gone.

Oh it gets better. It just appeared at an Apple Store farther away from me, but I decided to go for it. But of course by the time I checked out it was gone.

I'm in CA, target has a whole bunch in stock, within 50 mile radius. almost fully stocked with 6, and 6+ here and there. no lines either. no one is expecting target to have them when they do. Staples, which was next door to target, also has a whole bunch with no lines. definitely recommend going to these before an apple or verizon store
