How many times are you guys going to quote back that photo? I mean, it's nice you like it, but...

:D

Right, I've made a personal rule: I will try anything once, but if I'm going to drink any ale with "Butt" (or any synonym thereof) in the name it had better be phenomenally good beer.

I was in a brew pub in Salt Lake City, where they sold this:

I prefer the light, tasteless airiness of Miller (after all, it is the king of beers).
InBev is going to put out a contract on your life now.
Bud Light is a light beer, 110 Calories, 4% alcohol... an everyday treat.

I didn't know they had an Imperial Stout. I have to buy some! :D
My brother bought me a sixer of this for my birthday, online. My father drank most of it.
Top 5 Domestic Macrobrews (if you're slumming it)
...
3. Sam Adams
...
They may make a lot of beer (nearly 1.4 million barrels), but I still wouldn't call them a macro...
Top 5 Domestic light beers...[/B]

...Are you serious? It's all *****, if you must then maybe Sam Adams' light. Otherwise, go get a G&T or vodka cranberry, you pansy.
AMEN!
Haha, I guess I wasn't clear, You buy the bottle, then you can bring it there and they're fill it and you take it home, although maybe you can drink it there, that would be pretty awesome!
I think in most states, growlers and such are for off-premises consuption only.
It's one of those brewery/restaurant type thing called sweetwater tavern, I'm not sure how widespread they are.
Brewpubs are pretty common. :p

No particular order:
Southern Tier Jah-Va
Rogue Chocolate Stout
Dogfish Head Worldwide Stout
(notice a pattern here? :D)
Sam Adams Cream Stout
Berkshire Brewing Co. Coffeehouse Porter (made with Dean's Beans)
I'm going to one-up everyone and do a 6th:
Sam Adams Imperial Pilsner.

And it's not from the U.S., but Young's Double Chocolate stout. :D

Bloody Hell. To continue the Religious theme, there is schmaltz's He'brew -the chosen beer!

I've heard of them. Did you see the names of their other beers?

I don't know what's worse, that your brother bought you a six-pack of Arrogant Bastard Ale for your birthday, or that your father drank most of it. Either way, I think I'd be tempted to spend a little more time away from the family. ;)

I've heard of them. Did you see the names of their other beers?

Yeah, they are silly but clever - at least they aren't of the rusty butt variety. :D

At the moment I'm downing a Carlsberg Elephant - not bad ( I prefer malty beers) but perhaps unnecessarily powerful for daily drinking.

SUMMIT Beer
Hands down the best I've ever had (and I had many... way too many) It's so good the Germans give it awards. World renowned beer expert Michael Jackson (not the child molesting Jackson) says it's his favorite. And I get it fresh since it's local, but it is distributed most everywhere. Take your pick, they're all excellent, but EPA is always my favorite.

I want that ...... filled with Kilkenny.

I am happy to see that the American macro's are almost universally disdained.

I have tried most of our Domestic stuff, but prefer English/Irish/Scottish ales. Bitters preferred.

I hear good things about Sierra Nevada.

The one freaky name I did like was Surly Furious.

A 6.2 IPA, I don't doubt some might turn furious after a few. ;)

As someone lucky enough to live in the NW, I am surrounded by awesome microbrews - though it is doubtful many are distributed further than a few hundred miles from Portland.

I'll just list the brewers:

1. HUB (Hopworks Urban Brewery)
2. Amnesia
3. Nikasi (eugene OR)
4. Rogue
5. Terminal Gravity

I tend to like the IPAs - but all the above make a fine version of most beer varieties. I am blessed.

As an aside - Fat Tire and Shiner are overrated, crappy beers...

Brewpubs are pretty common. :p

I meant the particular establishment, as I know of two.

Southern Tier Jah-Va

The Worldwide Stout is the only of the currently available Dogfish Head brews that I haven't tried, but it's on the list. I did consume a 120 minute IPA in a single night by myself. That was an experience!

For a pretty widely available beer I like most things by New Belgium. Fat Tire is the most popular, but there are some others, like 1554 and Trippel, that are pretty great.
even though i'm still relatively new to the beer arena, i really like new belgium stuff. costco had a mix-n-match sale awhile back and i picked up some 1554, abbey and skinny dip. i even got a lip balm and bottle opener with my purchase. of the three, i liked the 1554 the best. funnily enough, it just so happens i'm currently draining a bottle of fat tire.

:D

Smuttynose
Oops, I forgot to list the Smuttynose Imperial Stout and Victory Storm King, which is a beast. :D
The Worldwide Stout is the only of the currently available Dogfish Head brews that I haven't tried, but it's on the list.

It ain't cheap ($8-9 per 120z. bottle around here  ) but it's worth it!
I also have a bottle of Newport Storm '07 in the basement as well.
Now I'm just waiting on my brother's chocolate stout, which has been fermenting for about 8 days now.

You can get some pretty disgustingly dark beers if you make them yourself. I recall when I was first starting out making the thickest, darkest beer I'd ever had. It tasted decent, but I couldn't get over the texture. You almost had to chew it.
