I've finally made the Top 10 :D
Let's see how that came to be! It appears that your posting rate has sped up slightly or slowed down slightly several times over the years.

9% of the projected Top 50 members who made the actual Top 50 have exactly the rank that was projected.
Behold the accuracy of Q. But with that in mind...

As I've noted, I've been floating around just outside the top 20 for a while now but looking at my figures and Q's projection, if he's predicted my July 2012 position correctly then my last 6 positions (since January 2010) will be 23, 22, 21, 23, 22, 21.

Am I cursed to be stuck in this loop for all eternity? :D

There is something to be said about consistency!

There is something to be said about consistency!
You gave me an idea for another evening's activity: computing the most consistent Top 50 members based on their rank over time.

I limited my comparisons to members who have been in the rankings a dozen or more times.

Top 50 Rank Consistency

The answer is that Mr. Anderson had the most consistent rank over time, with a rank number standard deviation of only 2.7.

Next in line:
edesignuk at 4.8
mkrishnan at 6.1
jsw at 6.4

Three of these users no longer post, which slowly lowers their rank, while mkrishnan still posts but doesn't have much elbow room to change rank.

Top 51 through 100 Rank Consistency

It occurred to me that some users consistency hover below the Top 50 so their rank doesn't show up on my semi-annual charts, but they might compete well in this category. So I wasted spent additional time looking at how the next tier of consistent members would rank if I posted a regular Top 100. There was a clear winner: skunk, with a standard deviation of 2.6, beating Mr. Anderson for most consistently ranked forum member.

Next in line:
MisterMe, at 5.3
Lord Blackadder, at 6.51
QCassidy352, at 6.54

  2. Mr. Anderson
  3. edesignuk
  4. MisterMe
  5. mkrishnan
Congratulations!

jsw still posts, though very low profile compared to spammers like me.

But looking at the profile, can you somehow see from your Excel document or forum database statistics thingy, who the most consistent post rate has (3 posts per day since registering and sticking to it for example), or the (I don't know the English term) one, where there are repeating or even numbers, like in 5.55 or 6.00 or 11.00 or 12.12 and so on?

I obviously need to post more...I have so much free time, and nothing to show for it... Except an avatar of probably my best picture ever.

What would be interesting, if Dr Q could oblige is a chart of fastest rising members. Whilst I'm sure that I am destined to remain in the ubiquitous 1% it would be fun to see how newbies post count rises.

Quite a few post once, have whatever issue they may have resolved, then they vanish never to post again.

Well.......they both used the word leather, and did mention leather-bound books.

Not sure what you mean by "stolen", unless you mean that Black Books now owns the words "leather-bound books", and I don't even think they said that in the clip.

Stole as in "stole", meaning irony. When you said "leather-bound books" I was just reminded of that scene.

I post a lot on here, and I've been a member over 10 years now, but it would take me almost another 60 years to reach the top positions post count if I continue at my current rate (and that's to reach where they are now!).

It'd take me more than 16 years just to get onto this current top 50 list, and again, that's if all of those posters didn't post at all.

Where'd the Cowboy 'tar go? I loved that one!

I might have to bring it back. Hoping to drum up a little interest in my new business, but of course the Orlando population on this board is pretty small anyways I'm sure.

Oh, and I just wanted to say it's nice on a board with 572659 members to have someone know who are you enough to remember a previous avatar. Thanks, man!
